Pretty good - Edit
Good selection of traditional dishes made vegan.
Read moreMy dish was tasty but sauce was described on menu as being spicy tomato, which it was definitely not. Pea protein was good though. The vegan burger with sweet potato chips was excellent.
We also had deserts but I have to say that I felt like I’d eaten an ultra processed fest. I may not be correct in saying this and it might be my fault for making my choices but I prefer more simple fruit and veg dishes.
Pros: Modified traditional dishes to be vegan
Cons: Felt too ultra processed for me

Mid, not worth the price - Edit
The staff was reasonably friendly, but the food okay at best. It was too cold and the "hungarian stew" tasted like the failed version of a stir fry with what's left in the fridge. We were disappointed, vegan restaurants in the same price class are usually delicious, fun and inspiring.

Cute interior, kind staff and a good variety of all vegan dishes. Also veganized classic hungarian dishes that we tried and liked! Prices ok.

Absolutely Delicious! - Edit
I was wandering around Budapest looking for something vegan and Happy Cow showed me this place. I was nearby so popped in. Staff were friendly and recommended me his favourite dishes. They were absolutely delicious and it was one of my favourite meals ever in my 25 years as a vegan!

Good - Edit
We had a nice salad and the eggplant cream, both of them tasty and savory. Then we tried the tipycal Hungarian cream cake and it was delicious.

I had the paprikash as the main dish and millet dumplings as a dessert, it was really tasty, but too much for one person to eat 😀

The food was good and the service was fantastic. The pizza though was a bit too indulgent. The ambiance was really good and so were the toilets aswel. Will be eating there again!

Hungarian dining on an indoor patio - Edit
We picked this place because of the many positive reviews. We were not disappointed. All the food we had was delicious. Service was great.
Read moreWe started out with the Hortobagyi pancake in a paprika sauce. We also had the spiced cottage cheese spread bread. We shared the main course mushroom papardelle. We ended our dinner with the famous Hungarian cream cake. Save room. The cake is huge! This place was a winner.
Pros: Lots of vegan options to choose from., A chance to try some Hungarian specialties
Cons: It’s 100° outside, still toasty on patio

Really really really good - Edit
This was some exceptional vegan food. The stars of the show were the schnitzel the cauliflower and the pancake for the starter. This place is really good it’s the best mash i’ve ever had and the selection of food was amazing. So many options it was hard to choose!! This place is up there with some of the best vegan food i’ve had and that is very very high praise

All vegan Hungarian cuisine - Edit
Dined indoors at Vegan Garden that offered a welcome respite from the hot June weather on the verge of Summer Solstice.
Read moreUpon my server's suggestion went with the Mushroom Paprikash. It was a vegan classic of Hungarian heritage.
It hit the spot.
Orher dishes looked equally as enticing.
Thank you!

Many choices and friendly staff - Edit
We have been here two times during our stay in Budapest. We tried the avocado burger, which was great, but I would maybe add more sauce or more avocado. The second time we tried pizza and homemade ravioli. Both times very tasty food and friendly staff.

Mash to make my mother cry (with joy!) - Edit
We weren’t in Budapest for the day and our friends chose this place for lunch. Brilliant choice! They have a big menu with lots of Hungarian dishes. It was hot and we enjoyed the air con in their pretty big restaurant. Everything we offered was really good, but the mash, the mash was really good. As an Irish person and self certified mash expert I thought this mash may have been some of the best I’ve eaten in my life! We were all sharing food and there wasn’t a tiny crumb of mash left by the time we finished. The cauliflower was also very very good. Please come to London and open a branch there…

Tasty vegan hungarian food. Decor is a bit of an identity mish mash but ok, and the service is nice. Portions are good, and the food tasty which in the end is all that matters.

Great opportunity to try veganized Hungarian food ! - Edit
We got to try lots of veganized Hungarian food here, which was so fun! The bean goulash was tasty, as was the mushroom paprikash. The hortobágyi pancake was my favourite ! The Hungarian style spiced cottage cheese spread on toast was bland, so I would skip that. The Hungarian cream cake dessert was really fun - it’s huge and so we split it three ways ! I do recommend coming here.

Taking half a star off for staff - I came before the dinner rush and the staff were standing around not really interacting with guests.

Wonderful flavors and friendly service - Edit
We started with the hortobágyi palacsinta and it was absolutely delicious! I highly recommend not skipping it.
Read moreI had the töltött cukkini and equally, it was bursting with flavors - the sauce was incredible too!
My husband had the vegan brassói which was just lovely as well.
The desserts left a bit to be desired flavor wise, but that's due to preference and not execution. I'm not a cottage cheese flavor person, so the classic Hungarian dumplings weren't exciting - the ice cream was fairly light on flavor as well. The Hungarian cream cake is extremely heavy and tasty but doesn't have much substance so you feel like you're eating icing. It wasn't my cup of tea - but still yummy.
The atmosphere was relaxed and the decor was comforting.
We will definitely be back, and recommend this spot to anyone - it's lovely!
Pros: Extensive menu
Cons: Server coughed a bit without covering mouth

Very welcoming restaurant with a nice covered patio, a huge menu, and great food. It also stays open later than some of the other vegan restaurants near there which close at 9. Highly recommended!

Too many dips and an amazing stew! - Edit
With a vast menu it was difficult to choose what to eat, so we opted to share a trio of dips and then I had the mushroom and dumpling stew.
