My favorite vegan restaurant

This place is so good. Too good. Every time I tell myself to try something different, I end up ordering the vegan slam—your choice of waffles or pancakes, tofu scramble, sausage, and hash browns. I’ve also tried their al pastor tacos and Mexican hash. The portions are huge and so filling, and their chia lemonade is my favorite beverage.

Pros: Variety , Huge portions

Cons: On the pricey side , Service can be spotty on busy days

Grandparents Loved Their Lunch

Great food, large servings, and alcoholic beverages! I very much enjoyed my cinnamon roll pancakes, which didn’t even need the syrup. My grandpa enjoyed his cocktail and nachos. My grandmother enjoyed her classic burger. Chill atmosphere and friendly service. A few parking spots on-site, but mostly street parking.

Pros: Delicious, Alcohol

Always a hit!

Anytime I’m in SA, my fam and I will stop here for brunch or breakfast! Their pancakes, waffles, and anything without the beyond meat is so yummy! Their outdoor space and indoor space has a cute vibe as well as friendly people!

I would take you on a date here.

Loved the ambiance of this place I found it very serene. The food was mind blowing good, personally I tried the al pastor tacos, the green sauce enchiladas, & the taco-birrias, the enchiladas and tacos were both 5/5 but I will have to give the taco-birria a 3.5/5 because I found the flavor a bit lacking in the jackfruit. I am definitely coming back & I would also recommend a michilada with shinner bock if you like michis.

Jessorz was not kidding about the pancakes.

Best pancakes ever!

Travel from Corpus Christi to eat here. Best vegan pancakes I have ever had. Breaking tacos are so good. Wish you would establish a location in corpus, we have limited vegan options here.

Pros: Fresh, Best pancakes ever

Cons: None

Great food

Being fairly new to plant based eating we’re always looking for new places to eat. We had the Al Pastor tacos and the Chick’N Parm Hero. Both very good and left us both very full!

Pros: Great food, Cool location

Cons: Need a little attention to detail, front door, etc, Need to remove old pants on the patio

Cinnamon Roll Pancakes!

The atmosphere is decent, and most of the food is decent. But the cinnamon roll pancakes are everything. This place is definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area. Not kidding about the pancakes.

Kind of pricey with small portions

I've been here a few times with nonvegan friends and my nonvegan husband but I am vegan. The food is definitely tasty but the problem is the portion sizes are pretty small. The price for the food is rather high and every time I've gone whether early in the day or late, they are super swamped and busy with customers. I do like the food and it is vegan but the price versus the amount of food keeps me from coming back regularly unfortunately.

Pros: Lots of a variety of vegan food, They have vegan milkshakes, They have outdoor seating

Nice atmosphere

Vegan avenue has a really nice atmosphere with a beautiful outdoor patio. The owner is so sweet and really goes out of her way to help the vegan community in San Antonio.
The food here is all vegan and all gluten free and it is honestly pretty pricy. I think you’re paying a lot for the atmosphere and location. My husband and I go here and spend about 60 bucks if we both eat usually an appetizer, two waters and two entrees.
I really like the Buffalo cauliflower wings and my favorite was the tempeh Mac and cheese but sadly they stopped making it. I used to come once a week for it but now that it’s gone I go about once every half a year. 😭
The staff can be really slow and not very attentive which is unfortunate but I think they are often understaffed.
The food can sometimes be inconsistent but for the most part everything I’ve had has been pretty good.

Pros: Good variety , Beautiful restaurant and patio

Cons: Pretty expensive compared to other restaurants , Food can be inconsistent

Cool vegan venue with Texas size taste

Very welcoming restaurant with outdoor seating and lots of creative Tex Mex / fusion dishes. My flexitarian nephew and I had vegan pozole. Everyone was happy. It got a bit crowded and the staff was overwhelmed by the Texas size crowd. The owner was very nice and gracious. I wish them the best for 2022 and beyond. #Veganuary

Pros: Very nice owner and staff , Outdoor seating and upscale interior , Creative fusion menu

Cons: Challenged a bit by TX size love for vegan fare

Lovely service tasty food

An entire vegan menu with food and drinks is always a treat. I had the Philly just because I’m a sucker for a vegan Philly. Oh, and there’s also brunch but I will have to go back to eat it all up. My table mates had pancakes for dinner and I was basically drooling the entire time they were eating. Tres Leches pancakes..who does that? Vegan Avenue does!

Delicious!

I went to Vegan Avenue with my family when we were in town for my son's Air Force BMT graduation. Coming from Portland, OR, we have high expectations for vegan restaurants, and Vegan Avenue did not disappoint! Our 2 kids had burgers (and loved the fries!), I had the carne asada tacos (which were yummy and had just the right amount of heat), and my husband had the carne asada fries. I have to say that the carne asada fries were by far my favorite. I think it was the creamy delicious queso that the fries were smothered in. Highly recommend Vegan Avenue and will definitely go back when I'm back in San Antonio!

Pros: Indoor and outdoor dining, Delicious food, Kid friendly
