Excellent! - Edit
I’m vegan and I’ve eaten here twice for lunch and it never disappoints. Friendly staff. Great comfortable cafe-style with a warm wood interior design and a small mezzanine for seating. Feels like I’m in Brooklyn. They have prepared dishes you can choose from (buffet style) they dish up for you and serve to your table. The dishes are thoughtful and tasty vegan. And the all vegan desserts are amazing! Great drinks - alcoholic and non alcoholic. This would be my weekly cafe if it was in Santa Monica. Such a cool place.

Great lunch - Edit
I took a friend here as is first vegan restaurant and the server was super helpful explaining all of their options. The food was great, very reasonably priced, I would come back again when in town. The tiramisu was a highlight.

Lovely place and friendly staff. Always seems to be someone who can speak English working if your Italian is not great. Been for breakfast, lunch and dinner - yum! Dinner has been my favorite time to go (Italian time), have a filling meal and not too sweet dessert.

Nice but.... - Edit
We arrived at 6pm which was early for dinner but it was more than an hour’s walk from our hotel and we were in the area. Anyway we were able to choose 3 dishes. I particularly liked the pasta dish. The guy was really nice and helpful. We also had a chokkino (cocoa and water) which I enjoyed. I did like it, I’m just a bit over choosing dishes from a cabinet to have them reheated. It seems to be a trend in Milan vegan “restaurants.”

Cons: This choosing items from a cabinet.

Reheated food, ants crawling around us - Edit
Staff were really friendly and welcoming. You choose from a selection of salads at the bar and they reheat the food for you. The food itself was okay, nothing special and not a big portion. Totally understand it is a hot country and insects are hard to avoid but there were a lot of ants crawling all over the floor and no other restaurant I’ve been to in Milan had this. For me, it’s not acceptable but I know it wouldn’t bother other people. It is moderately priced (about €10 for a plate) but I wouldn’t go back again.

Cute local place. Good food. - Edit
We came here for dinner. It's a cute, cozy, little café in a local, non-touristy neighborhood. They offer various combinations at different price levels. The basic plate costs €9 and you get to pick three of their selections for the day, which is no easy task! We opted for the €16 deal that included a glass of fresh juice and a dessert with the said plate. Water and bread with homemade spread provided for all meals, which is nice.
Read moreThe food was tasty but the plate itself wasn't sufficient as a main meal. We didn't leave hungry but didn't feel sated either. In retrospect I would've ordered more food—maybe one or two of the other side dishes—and would recommend doing so.
The waitperson spoke UK English and was friendly and very helpful. Contrary to the description at the top, I don't think reservations are needed.
Pros: good food, friendly staff
Cons: small portions

Great food, great prices and very nice people! - Edit
It’s true they don’t cook with as much taste as others but I prefer it this way since it’s healthier. Their food has just enough taste and it’s prepared freshly. Their sweets were really good too and their apple pie doesn’t have any added sugar which I love

Just fine - limited options - Edit
We went here for lunch because we stayed in an apartment nearby - we wanted some take away to eat at home.
Read moreThe space is cute with a garden out back - and we should have just eaten in there because we ended up paying more for less food for take away than if we had stayed.
Five different options - we had lasagna, some sort of barley salad and collards. Everything looked good, but tasted really bland unfortunately.
The staff was nice.
If you're in the neighbourhood their lunch special is 9€. Just remember to eat it there.
Pros: good price (if you don't take away), free water and bread, nice staff
Cons: bland tasting

An apparent decline - Edit
I´ve been there twice, and had wholly different experiences. The first one was fabulous. Not only did I eat the best lasagna ever (with silken tofu), it actually remains one of my favourite meals in almost 40 years.
Read moreThe second one was just the other day, at their new location, which proved to be nearly inaccesible. After taking two different underground lines and a train to San Cristoforo, we were confident it was just a short walk. However, as the train station is open on one side only (the "wrong" one), we ended up having to take a taxi from there. The driver was unsure where Mudra was (understandable, as they just opened), and we had to ask around until we finally found it. Maybe some locals can write directions so that folks can actually find it in the future. As if that weren't enough, they had a blackout in the area and no electricity, but that problem was solved within some 15 min. We finally ordered, and all five dishes plus two starters were average at best. Luckily I had already been told by the friendly waiter that it wasn't the same lasagna, but this one was slightly salty and far from the level of greatness they previously showed. Desserts were not stellar either, especially the almond pudding that was plain mediocre. It seems like the reason why they moved was space; now they have quite a (dance) floor and I imagine such activities are a top priority for them, perhaps at the expense of the food. Regrettably, I see no reason to return to Mudra.

We went there for dinner. A reservation had to be made, but the place was not full.

Cool and chilling - Edit
Mudra was the first vegan restaurant I went in Milan more than 3 years ago and I'm always happy to eat here again. Even during the day if I'm nearby, I often go for a fresh juice.
Read moreThe restaurant is welcoming, nice, small and quiet even if it's located near Piazza XXIV Maggio, a busy square near navigli. It is furnished with an indian theme althought the cousine is Italian.
The staff is very kind and nice and I've alywas loved both the way I was treated and the dishes the chef cooked. Ah don't forget to taste a dessert too, ask for what's available.
The restaurant is small, reservation is strongly suggested.
Pros: Nice atmosphere, Good food!, Gentle staff
Cons: May not be able to eat without reserv.

I went there last year for dinner with my omnivores relatives (one of them is a teen-ager, skeptical of healty and veg food) and we all found it tasty, refined but not pompous, healty...perfect!
Read moreThere is a wide choice, also for the desserts, and the crew is really nice and interested in new recipes, dishes and ideas! Fantastic Lunch - Edit
My partner and I had lunch here when staying in Milan. The owner is very friendly and it is a lovely restaurant.
Read moreI had the vegan of the day lunch which consisted of rice, Seiten with carrots and veg and a raddish dish for 9 euro's. The Seiten was lovely and the rice had some sea kelp in it which tasted divine. My partner had the club sandwich (5-6 euro) which is quiet large. My only complaint is that they didn't have croissants when were in town! But hey we had cake instead -YUM! :)
We felt portion sizes were good for the price and quality. Loved the decor and feel of this restaurant and the food is delicious, a must when in Milan - very impressed
Did not find it that hard to locate - Take tram 3 from Via Torino (near Duomo) get off at Piazza XXIV Maggio (about 6 minutes), turn right as you step off tram, walk right at traffic lights and it is about 300 metres down the road - the restaurant is in a small square just off the street, there should be a sign on the pavement advertising it. (we used the map in the Lonely Planet guide so cross referencing with that makes it easy)
Happy Cruelty Free Eating :)
