Great Vegan Food in the heart of a meat eating city - Edit
The restaurant is located next to the police museum. It's small, so it can be easy to miss. The place is very cozy, with 2 levels of seating.
Read moreThe server speaks English and the menu is also in English. I had the waffle de yoda. The waffle itself isn't too bad. It's not dry, so that's a plus. The entire dish is flavorful, and not spicy at all. I would've liked a lot more spice to bring up the kick. The "cheese" goes really well with the dish.
Also got smoothie and a piece of peanut butter cake. Smoothie was great, though I don't remember what it was called. The cake was alright.
Can't tell you how happy I am to eat vegan food in Mexico City.

The lunch deal was great! Had the waffle chewbacca and turned it into a set meal that came with lemonade, soup & bread, and a small piece of dessert for just an extra 45 pesos. Everything was delicious. Staff was very friendly as well. Only downside is the tiny space. You may have trouble finding a table especially during lunch hour.

The best vegan meal I've had in my time in Mexico! Located the historic center, it's easy to find with a cozy atmosphere. Outdoor seating available and the staff are super friendly. Menus and staff speak both English and Spanish. Burger was excellent, as was nuggets. Try the shakes!

Read moreI came on a Saturday, so it was a bit full, but I didn't wait too long for them to feed me an amazing Mushroom Ceviche and a BBQ burger. The smoothie was delicious as well ( the one with hemp seeds) and the snickers raw cake was :):):):):):):):):):):) gooooood! People working there are really cool and the music was great and even a couple of guitar musicians came to play some songs which made my day complete!

I sat upstairs and was able to re-charge my phone whilst chatting to other customers enjoying the delicious vegan fare. I had the hot cakes on my first visit (delicious with all the fruit it comes with) and the Choco-waffles on my second visit the next day and both were delicious. The choice of drinks is also excellent and they have a variety of non-dairy mylks available.
Definitely give VegAmo MX a visit - you won't regret it.
Pros: Wide selection and choice, Great space and vibe, Friendly and helpful staff.
Cons: Watch the stairs - they are trickier coming down!

I've been in Mexico City for five days now and this was BY FAR the best food I've tasted in the city. As a vegan who doesn't speak Spanish it has been very overwhelming and discouraging trying to order and explain what vegan means, even with key words translated from English to Spanish.

The restaurant was relatively empty so I was lucky enough to enjoy the top floor to myself with a great view of the street and an adorable dog saying hello to everyone who passed by. Many people came and went to take orders to go and I spent over an hour enjoying my meal and delicious house made Limonada. The atmosphere was cozy and comforting in such a busy city. The staff spoke English and were very welcoming and friendly. I hadn't had a chance to connect with anyone about veganism since I arrived so it was great to joke about people's silly thoughts about vegan eating fish, chicken, cheese, etc.
As I said, I ordered the Limonada to drink and I thought the pizza would be a good choice. They advise on their menu that certain items take longer to make, and the pizza was about 25 minutes. Time flew by and the wait wasn't a problem. The veggie pizza was incredible! The amount of veggies was amazing (nine different vegetables), the sauce, crust, everything perfecto. I ordered a Pad Thai and pesto pasta to go as well as there isn't anything close to my hotel that is vegan. They are beautiful and I can't wait to try them. Everything I ordered came to only 311 pesos, amazingly affordable with such quality to the food!
This restaurant deserves much more than five stars, it was an eleven for me. Mucho gracias!
