Tasty veg, good breakfast menu - Edit
Lovely food. Went for breakfast and got veg and salad on toasty bread with a turmeric latte. Unfortunately the BLT I really wanted to try was unavailable. Will go back when I'm next in Kyoto. Staff very friendly. Prices little high I think, but worth it. My total was ¥1500 for the salad and veg on toast, and coffee.

Pretty good - Edit
I got the Buddha bowl an I loved it! The soy chicken in the salad was really good as well! My spouse got the tomato coconut curry and it was lacking flavor/seasonings. We got blueberry lemon smoothies, they were sour but not bad! We also got the blueberry earl grey tart crumble an it was so good we got one to go as well. The chocolate coconut muffin was dry sadly, but I’d go back for the salad and tart crumble! Nice view of the river as well.

I liked the food. They were very busy so I sat at a communal table. They brought me both a fork and chopsticks. I enjoyed the meal.

Veg Out is one of the best vegan restaurants in Kyoto, according to Happy Cow users. We were eager to try it!
The location can’t be beat— it’s located very close to Shichijō station, and affords a gorgeous view of the Kamogawa river.
I ordered the taco rice, which was good, though I would have liked a little more rice. It was more of a “taco salad.” Ryuji seemed very happy with his Buddha bowl though, and we both liked the small but delicious rum raisin raw cake.
Service was a little slow and cold. They seemed understaffed. Still, the vibes in the place were so nice that we didn’t mind waiting a bit.
One thing that prevented us from fully enjoying our time there was that the staff ask customers waiting for tables to stand and wait inside, by the door. Though understandable on cold days like this one was, this creates an awkward situation if you’re seated near the door, as we were. It’s even worse if those waiting customers, standing behind you, are chatting loudly, apparently having decided that the “please wear a mask” sign somehow doesn’t apply to them, and the staff don’t point it out to them. :-/
Still, we were happy to enjoy a tasty, healthy meal at an all-vegan restaurant. Give Veg Out a try! #Veganuary

It’s nice to have a view of the river in Kyoto, but it’s hard to find a vegan place that does. That’s why I chose vegout for my first stop. Everything is good here. The coffee is top notch and you don’t have to worry about specifying a vegan milk. The Buddha bowl was good to get some veggies after sitting on the Shinkansen for a while.

Loved this place ! It’s gorgeous spot overlooking the river as you eat. They’d so many tasty choices and but picked the Buddha bowl which had karagge and an assortment of tasty fresh cooked veg. They have their own homemade kombucha which never seen in Japan which was so refreshing on a hot day.
Read moreIt’s not the cheapest place but for quality and portion sizes it’s worth it!
They also have a self service produce section where you can get nuts, dried fruit and grains that you can fill in paper bags or your own container I think if you’re trying to have less waste.
Pros: Super tasty large portion , Kombucha, Zero waste store inside

Relax veg cafe for veg digital nomad - Edit
I've been to many cafe around Kyoto. And I'm so happy that I found Veg Out.
Read moreIt's the most relax cafe I've been so far. We sit in front of the big window which has nice natural light and wind breeze through the window. The cafe is right next to the famous river so we had a very nice view. The staff was really nice and thoughtful. We ordered the lemonade (700 yen +10% )and coffee with cake(half muffin) set (550 yen + 10%).
I really appreciate they allow us to use the plug and there's free wifi since there are many cafe in kyoto don't provide plug.
I would love to go back again for sure !
