I REALLY wanted to like it. - Edit

Read moreI saw their HUGE menu online and got so excited. When I was there I was told they "optimised" it, now it's only two A4 pages with way fewer options. (I just looked - they updated it now. I must've gone last week when it was brand new.)
I wanted a mix of their Puri, which was on the old menu. They still have all the options, but don't do the mix anymore so I had to pick one.
The one I went with sadly involved so much coriander which I didn't know so I absolutely couldn't finish it. I despise it and a single leave ruins an entire plate for me. The dish itself is served cold and gets mushy very quickly, the yoghurt is really overpowering.
I ordered the chilli version of the dosa which wasn't on the menu anymore either, and it also wasn't spicy, yet she still charged 1€ (!) extra. Nonetheless I was grateful for that, because every single one of the 4 dips were EXTREMELY spicy. Which isn't clarified anywhere. The dosa itself tasted amazing, I loved the savoury "crepe" vibe and the cheesy vegetable filling.
I would genuinely love to go back and try completely different dishes, I believe in their potential. But I also didn't feel very welcome there. Not sure what my conclusion is.

Lekker eten, 100% vega en als doorgevraagd wordt is er een groot deel van de kaart ook vegan beschikbaar (naast de al aangegeven vegan opties). Hele lekkere mango lassi (ook vegan). Personeel ook heel vriendelijk en meedekend. Op 10 min van Utrecht Centraal

Starters, sides and mains, basically all the savory food was truly delicious and had a proper portion size with great value for money. We didn’t like the dessert, but maybe others are better - I’ll find out next time. Service is basic, but friendly. Food came out fast! Restaurant was clean and looked well taken care of. Cute decor

Het eten was voortreffelijk. Maar het restaurant is niet sfeervol of gezellig. Muziekje op de achtergrond ontbreekt. Je blijft niet gezellig zitten nekletsen. De bediening oogde wat traag en weinig enthousiast. De menu kaart was in het Engels en niet echt duidelijk.

De eerste keer wisten we niet wat te verwachten, maar intussen zijn we al enkele keren hier komen eten en proberen we steeds nieuwe dingen uit van de menukaart. Tot nu toe vonden de het allemaal lekker!

Great food - Edit
We were hear for lunch on a Saturday and did not know they only offered a buffet for lunch. We were a bit confused, but everything was great. All the food except two things was vegan, and the server said they could make a vegan version of one of the non vegan things (the dessert). I loved everything, especially the masala dosa. Food on the dinner menu is clearly labeled. I will definitely go back some time for dinner.

They had a lot od options, clearly marked vegan. Nothing too special and was a bit quiet but to their credit, they have a lot of vegan deserts and vegan lassi as well which is uncommon

So far, the best Indian I’ve had. They offer a lot of options that are different from the ones you can typically find. I really liked the pani puri, the puffed rice salad and the layered bread!

Wonderful friendly restaurant - Edit
We have been meaning to try this restaurant for a while and I'm very glad we finally went! They have an extensive menu with plenty of vegan options. Everything we had was delicious, and to my surprise the beetroot kola was my favourite - I'm normally not that keen on beetroot, but these were so tasty. We will definitely be back.

The food was delicious and the portions were good in size! Had finished most of the food before I thought of making a picture (classic) but that was because it was delicious! We loved the Dosa’s which are huge. Also the other options are nice. 80% of the food is vegan, the rest is veggie.

VegNation is a great restaurant. They have a vegan version of pretty much every dosa they offer, including the ones with cheese. I’d gotten take-out (the vegan menu) from here before, but went for dine-in with my parents a few months ago. My dad is quite the pickly eater, but he loved his biryani. You order through a QR code and don’t get much interaction with the staff. Food doesn’t come at all once. The interior is pretty average, but not (as I like to call it) “Mcdonald’s-y” which is a good thing.
Read moreTo start, we got the pani puri and the fried cauliflower in a delicious sauce. My mom got a vegetarian dosa and I got the chili cheese one. The masala dosa I got before was delicious, but the chili cheese is literally just vegan cheese with a [censored] ton of chili flakes which overpowered everything. And that’s coming from someone with a really high heat tolerance. The dips are definitely the best part. Some dosa’s are filling and others aren’t which is hard to indicate from the menu, so it was a good thing we got the starters.
I was the only one to get a vegan dessert (others got vegetarian dishes), but it wasn’t something I had ever tasted before and I really loved it.

Nice delicious indian food! We loves their dosa's at the market vredenburg. Especially ghee dosa with masala. The owners are very friendly, When she introduced you about the southern indian food you can hear and see her passion. Try the starter platters and the jumbo meal and finish it with the chai. We will come often to this place if we graving for Indian food! Thanks for your excellent service.

The food was really really good, with a massive selection of dishes, including many options you don't often see in Indian restaurants. Only point of critique is having to order via a QR-code: this didn't work well (app got stuck) and made the experience rather formal and technical. A lot of the dishes also arrived late, maybe because we had to improvise outside of the order flow of the app? Either way, it would have been much nicer to just order via the staff from the start.
Read moreTo end on a positive note: the portion sizes a really quite large. And if you're unable to finish it, it is no problem to take that home, decently packaged and all.

Had aloo tiki chat, idli vada combo and masala dos. Sambhar was fresh and hot and tasty. Good chutneys. Vada also good and fresh hot. Masala in masala dosa is above average. Two of us only customers in restaurant and took over an hour for meal. Service could be improved. Overall dining experience was not enjoyable

Read moreEverything tastes great, and also combined together. We had a large plate with several different sauces, curries and other dishes. Staff is very friendly and the kitchen staff explains how to eat it. Only downside to this large plate was that some of the dishes were a bit cold.

New place since may 2023. I took the Vegan Nation Special Meals. Two among the four sauces are spicy but not so much. There are a 'krokant' ball, a long dosa, aromatic basmati rice, a little cup if vegetables and, as for dessert, an idly, slightly sweet. The dosa is deliciously crispy. I also took a mango lassi, excellent. Everything is vegan.

The food here is definitly authentic, you can ask vegetarian dishes to be made vegan, they do charge a little extra but given the quality and taste of the food it's worth it.
Read moreThe owner and staff there are very friendly and you can tell they care about the authenticity of the food. They're mentioned they were experimenting with vegan milks to try and add more vegan options to the menu. We'll defintely be back again!
