Heerlijk eten, fijne sfeer - Edit
Het menu is niet groot maar wat erop staat is heerlijk. We hadden samen twee driegangenmenu's met een bijgerecht. Het was allemaal erg smaakvol en bij elkaar een goede hoeveelheid.

The mains were delicious: flavorful and rich, but the portions are a bit small and it keeps you wanting more.. so we got 4 desserts to share (between 3). The menu is only in Dutch, not even a qr code to scan. ☺️ the place is a bit small, so reserve a table.

The food was absolutely delicious, no disappointments there. The service was very nice, friendly and authentic. Atmosphere is cosy, nice place to be. No room for dessert after 2 courses, but with the amount of cake choices I had to have one. Left very content with a very round belly.

One of the best vegan restaurants I have ever been to. Our food super delicious and with fresh ingredients. Also its a very cozy place and the staff is super friendly. We would come back any time :)

Update July 2024: still like the savory food and I think they have improved their desserts. I liked the Chai ice cream with orange cake. Also liked the homemade kombucha. Love this place!

VanPlanten serves good savory food. The flavor combinations are always surprising. Staff is friendly and there is a good vibe in the restaurant. I am not blown away by the desserts. In my opion they are too sweet. I think I would not order a dessert again.

All our dishes were flavored in a yummy and interesting way. The menu changes often but we had a blitzen app that was just amazing as were the main dishes and the desserts. For example the frosting on the carrot cake had several spices so the taste was way beyond the usual sweetness of other carrot cakes.

I had the pumpkin flan with sage, the mushroom galette with carrot salad and the pumpkin ice cream with miso caramel. All the dishes were delicious and the flavor combinations were unique and interesting.

I really like that they have a small selection of dishes per course, so you know they are all good choices and you don't have a choice overload.
Also really amazing that all profits go to animal charities. It makes you feel even better when dining here.

absolutely loved the worteltartaar!! dahl and galette were good. kroketjes very tasty but there was a big piece of oesterzwam which i’d recommend to be cut in smaller pieces. then the desserts were the best thing ever! loved the cheesecake which was decorated so pretty and the chai ice cream with orange cake was an amazing combo!

A friend of mine lead us here and I had no expectations, but was quick to judge the outer appearance as it suggest to be a cute café that offers dinner as an afterthought.
Read moreMy biggest fear is always that restaurants serve bland dry tofu and call it a day or simply deep fry everything, instead of actually trying to make good vegan food. I would lie if I said, that this thought hadn‘t crossed my mind when we sat outside.
I couldn’t be happier about how wrong I was. Looking at the menu I was surprised by the diverse range of food and combination of ingredients, all while limiting options. Allowing for an easier selection, that doesn‘t overwhelm you. The plating was beautiful and the dishes were creative and tasty. The use of substitutes for meat/dairy was reduced to the bare minimum and everything tasted very natural and well-made.
The server was really friendly and charming and when they forgot something, they immediately made up for it.
We had a great time here.

Loved having dinner here. The homemade kombucha was very good in my opinion and I really enjoyed the taste of the starter and main dish. For dessert I decided to go with one of the cakes, which was a little disappointing in both taste and texture. Nevertheless, I had a lovely evening here and really enjoyed the other dishes so would 100% recommend.
Read moreUpdate: went for their new 2024 menu and it did not disappoint. Had a lovely evening once again with delicious food. The only thing I did not enjoy that much was the sauce that came with the starter. The sauce was rather sweet which almost made the dish taste like dessert. Loved the main dish, which had a little bit of heat to it. The broth was good and was filled with thick udon noodles, some mushrooms, other veggies and tofu. The previous time we had dinner here we didn't really like the cakes for dessert so this time around I had the pumpkin ice cream with miso caramel, which was delicious. The ice itself wasn't as creamy as I had hoped, but taste wise it was very good. The caramel was delicious and had a good miso taste. The cookie was crisp and thin.

The restaurant is cutely decorated with real plants and makes you feel at home with the red cat going around and all the comfy cushions. The staff is very friendly. The dishes were tasty but the pancake main dish could have been warmer. Maybe a plate warmer would be helpful. The carrot cake is creamy and spicy.

A bit out of the city center but it’s walkable. I recommend you take the detour to have dinner here. Always great food, friendly staff, and don’t forget the red cat. He’s actually the reason I come here 😉❤️.

We enjoyed a wonderful summertime dinner outdoors. VanPlanten made the conscious choice to furnish the restaurant with re-used materials, which creates a homely atmosphere. Both the decoration and the dishes combine beauty with honesty. And the dishes tasted great. This was our first visit, but it won't be the last.

I’ve become a regular at this place and it’s for a reason: the menu changes every 4 weeks and the dishes are always so intriguing and unique!
Read moreThe three course menu costs 33.50€ and you can choose from 3 of each: starter, main, dessert. There are also three side dishes available at an extra cost.
All in all: 5 stars. The service is always super friendly, the atmosphere is quiet and not rushed but most importantly: the food is delicious and filling.
Also make sure to try their homemade kombucha and iced tea!

De kaart varieert, dus ik kom alleen wanneer ik deze aansprekend vind. De laatste keer dat ik was, bestelde ik een torentje van tostada's met refried beans, avocadomayonaise en salsa. Erg lekker. Voor toe had ik chocoladecake met aardbeien. Helaas vrij droog en daardoor teleurstellend. De aardbeienbotercrème was wel erg lekker, en maakte de droogheid van de cake minder vervelend 🍰
