Vegan Chinese dream - Edit
Tofu vegan is the best Chinese restaurant there is, each and every dish is a fest for your palate.
Read moreI have been many times to the one in Angel/Islington and two times in this one, never once they have disappointed.
The only problem you can have here is how to decide what to order.
My recommendation is to try everything that takes your fancy plus the wontons which are unforgettable.
Don't miss the opportunity to visit!

I loved Tofu Vegan - the food was really good, extensive selection, and a nice restaurant ambience. Wait staff were really helpful in recommending dishes - the wontons were amazing! I thought I knew Chinese food but tons of things on the menu I wasn’t familiar with, so it’s always exciting to try something new and know that nothing is off limits - all 100% vegan!

Once you've had tofu vegan you will realise how poor a lot of other options are. The food is so fresh and nicely prepared it is fantastic. I think people forget that freshly cooked food does cost and they aren't a huge chain so the fact that it is slightly more expensive is fair. I do find the food too spicy though. I'd love to try some of the other dishes but they are way too hot. I have said in another review of the other branch it really wouldn't be that hard to make make a no chilli or genuinely mild version of some of the dishes as an option on the menu.

The best service I’ve ever experienced - Edit
The highlight of the meal had to be the waiter, who was extremely knowledgeable about the food and went out of his way to make us feel welcome. He even gave us a glass of wine and a small starter on the house!

We accidentally stumbled upon it when visiting Hampstead Heath gardens and were blown away by the flavours and how tasty every dish we ordered was! I absolutely recommend it and planning to come back in the future for more! 🍣🍱🍢 I don't remember what we ordered but we did order the most popular dishes recommended by the waiter and they were mouthwatering!

Been here twice now with 2 non-vegans and we are fans! It’s true that it’s not the cheapest but I find it comparable to most other Chinese restaurants in London. Food is extremely tasty and the manager Alex is really helpful. I want to come back and try everything!

My second Tofu vegan and I couldn't fault how friendly the staff were, although if you ask for recommendations be prepared for a very detailed run down of the menu. My non-vegan friend was amazed by the dishes, especially the dumplings and the duck. It is very expensive but from what I remember, similar prices to a regular Chinese restaurant.

I was excited to visit Tofu Vegan for lunch Friday 16 September. I was shocked at the price and size of the portions. What I really couldn’t comprehend was being told they added dried chillies but said it’s best not to eat them! So we had to them pick them out, I tried one and it was inedible.

A friend and I went for lunch and ordered 2 main dishes and a portion of rice for £32!!

It’s a shame, I don’t know why the prices are so high. One of the dishes was £13.60.
Unfortunately we won’t be going again, despite the very tasty food and helpful friendly manager.

Nicely decorated place, busy when we went (Monday evening in August) Staff is knowledgeable and helpful. Our food was delicious - I particularly liked my mapo tofu and the deep fried king oyster mushrooms starter. That said, I am not sure how healthy it actually is - some of our food was bathing in oil! It is also too expensive to make it a regular place for me. Will take non-vegan friends and relatives on occasion.

I was very excited to try this place out. I ordered two kinds of vegan dim sums and a mushroom and tofu dish. The dim sums had tasty fillings but they had a bit too much dough for my liking which killed the flavour, as it wasn’t that nice. The main was okay, though I really hoped for it to be more flavoursome (there was supposed to be garlic but it wasn’t garlicky at all), however the sauce was very greasy, there was a thick separated layer of oil. Overall, I was a little disappointed but I would love to give Tofu Vegan another chance

I was really disappointed with this place. Over prices for dishes and really small portions. Very stingy with the vegetables too. Noodles I bought for my son super oily and no freshness. Crispy tofu - small portion again hardly any peppers to go with it. Not coming back here again.

Loved this place! The staff were super friendly and made really great suggestions about the combination of dishes we should order from the menu. I loved every dish, we had:
Read moresweet potato cold noodles, wontons with chef special sauce, sizzling fried tofu, hot and fragrent cauliflower, rice and for desert the sesame roles.
We also ordered the Chinese tea to drink, you get a huge teapot which is great 😊 Food wise the portions were just right, and this was a good amount of food for 2 people.
Favourite dish was probably the noodles followed by the wontons but everything was great and we'll certainly be going back to try more from the menu.
I would love it if they opened a branch in South West London so I could visit more often!!!

Some of the dishes on the menu you will not find anywhere else, at least not vegan. The wontons in the house special sauce are a must get but none of the dishes I’ve had have been disappointing. Packed with flavour. The staff are friendly and very helpful. Only problem is it’s on the expensive side otherwise I’d be going there WAY more often.
