Tofu Manju is delicious!! - Edit
The tofu & veggie bun is only 250yen and was so good that I wanted to buy a second one after eating. Not what I was imagining when eating, the inside was firmer and more savoury but very very delicious. Get one if you're in the area!

Yummy Tofu-Manjuu - Edit
Got the last two Manjuu and it was good. A little bit sweet, but really good. And the soymilk with sesame was *wooah*. So creamy and thick, a little bit sweet, but not too sweet.

Delicious but beware the non-vegan items - Edit
This tofu stand is conveniently located just minutes outside of Kiyomizudera. There are several things that they were selling, including but ONLY THE TOFU BUNS ARE VEGAN. I asked the worker to confirm, and the tofu balls that are sold there contain fish. Besides that, the tofu buns were delicious and I would highly recommend. A bit pricey though.

Yum snack - Edit
No English menu, so just use google translate when you see the board. This was really nice, loved the fluffy bun and the tofu was sweater than I was expecting. The shop is still in the main area and there are a couple of seats to eat the food.

Perfect little street snack - Edit
It can be hard as a vegan wandering the streets of Gion unable to stop at most counters for a snack. This tofu snack drink was perfect, a nice steamy snack on a rainy day to be enjoyed on a small cushioned bench in front. 250 yen per bun!

Very nice tofu manju - Edit
I didn't expect it to be a little sweet, I was expecting something savory, but I definitely wasn't disappointed. It was very very good. I unfortunately came when they ran out of a batch so I had to wait around 20 mins for a new batch to be steamed. Worth the wait, ended up devouring 3 of those.

Amazing 400 year old tofu restaurant - Edit
This place was one of my favorite restaurants we ate at in Japan. We also got some of the yummy buns to-go at their stall next door, but we had an amazing sit down meal here for lunch. If you love tofu this is a must-do in Kyoto. There is a set meal with a bunch of courses/dishes and you just pick the kind of tofu you want (soft, firm, or seasonal cold silken in the summer). There is soy sauce broth, seasoning, and scallions for the tofu. Also sesame tofu, a soup, grilled tofu skewers with some kind of miso glaze, veggie tempura, rice with pickles, and tea. Seating is on the floor, with a view of some beautiful gardens out the window. Would highly recommend this place!!! (Also great to pair with a visit to Kiyomizu temple down the street)

Located at the end Ninnensaka just before going down to Sannenzaka or to view famous Yasaka pagoda of famous Old Kyoto. You can grab a Tofu bun ¥250 a piece before or after visiting famous Kiyomizu temple. Highly recommended!!

A Quick Bite - Edit
Great little shop right on the corner bend. Yummy tofu buns and at the time we went she only had soy and matcha (green tea) flavoured sorbet. Everything is 250¥ but drinks are different prices.
