Tasty and spicy - Edit
We had a quick and tasty BBQ jackfruit sandwich yesterday which was delicious, spicy and tasted very fresh. I also like the Yerba mate bottled drink with a trace of carbonation. Love to go back in the warmer weather.

Small but wonderful - Edit
This place is fantastic. The food is excellent, the music they play is great, the wait is reasonable for someplace so small. Really the seating is my only issue, but they package things to go so well that even the sauces don't leak through, so getting things to go is not at all a problem and certainly not worth deducting stars over. Absolutely 100% recommend, especially the gyro.

Almost Perfect - Edit
The food is amazing, the selection is terrific, the vibe is just right and the staff is super friendly. Unfortunately with the place being very small it means the kitchen and tables are basically right next to each other and you walk away smelling like the grease grill for the rest of the day. For that reason, I’d say order take out/ delivery and your experience will be top notch!

Super solid scratch made food - Edit
Really appreciate how everything is made in house. From the burgers to the cheeses to the ketchup! It’s all scratch made. Very rare.

Punk Rock/Martial Arts and Vegan Food - Edit
Vegan comfort food in a punk meets martial arts themed restaurant in Brooklyn. While this might not sound shocking to you the food will shock you with its piquant, sweet, and savory dishes!
Read moreFood****
When people hear the phrase “comfort food” they tend to associate it w/ unhealthy—Toad Style is only half that (fries and other fried foods). There is a good amount of healthy, superfoods on this menu. We ordered the Sunshine burger, which features Toad Styles own house made patty (refreshing in the age of BEYOND and IMPOSSIBLE), arugula, cashew dill cheese (amazing), avocado, sweet chili mustard, and served on a pretzel bun and a side of fries—definitely a winner (Side note: ketchup is house made and very good but you must request this as they do not have it out and we accidentally dumped some hot sauce on our burger). Additionally, we tried the Tofu Scramble from their brunch menu (served until 4pm daily!)—made with Burmese tofu and topped w/ Hollandaise sauce and veggies. The scramble was light yet creamy and delicious!
Atmosphere***
The walls are papered in vintage martial-art movie posters from the ’70s and ’80s, the 14-seat restaurant is appropriate for all (families, couples, etc.). Not a huge space but adequate amount of seating and pleasant/fun atmosphere.
Service***
Counter service and you bus your own tables and dependent on your beliefs you may like or dislike that but I like how I feel when I help the restaurant.
Price$
Great food at an excellent price!
Pros: Large portions , Inexpensive , Delicousssss
Cons: Area isn’t the greatest (rundown)

Punk rock vegan, not bad - Edit
The food here is not bad. We had the spinach and artichoke taquitos, I had the breakfast sandwich plus nacho cheese, and my friend had the tofu scramble. Sizable portions for the first meal of the day; definitely not a complaint.
Read moreThe only thing we feel needs improvement was the scramble in both of our dishes. They were just too salty for our palates.
I’d come back if I’m drunk. It seems like it’d be great drunk food.
If you like flavorful vegan junk food and punk rock music, you won’t be disappointed.
Pros: Sizable portions, Great flavor
Cons: “Eggs” slightly too salty

Cozy vegan comfort - Edit
Cozy compact cute bistro-style space serving really good 100% Vegan food in filling portions at very affordable prices. Ethically sourced, locally where possible. Friendly courteous engaging knowledgeable personnel. Fresh, hand cut fries. Except for buns, from a local vegan bakery, everything made in house, including smooth creamy cheeses and sauces. Recommend highly the bbq jackfruit salad, also available as sandwich or wrap; smoky, well seasoned, moist slightly sweet sauce. The fried cauliflower was also a standout, excellent hot, & just as good cold for a snack the next day. Good travel food. Non vegan dining companions enjoyed the gyro, tofu scramble wrap, cheeseburger. Only complaint was that texture of sunshine burger was softer than expected; it was tasty, but not burger texture to her. Everyone raved about the fries.

Clean unisex bathroom. Vintage decor with wood plank tables, benches; 70s themed martial arts posters on the walls, punk rock music in background, low volume so no interference with conversations. Very small space, so expect close contact if dining in. Take out & delivery available. Reusable dishes, utensils, cups for dining in, comfortable take out containers. Palm-oil free.
Pros: Delicious, well seasoned, affordably priced food, 100% vegan, Ethically conscious, environment friendly
Cons: Very small space

Yum! - Edit
Cute little place in Brooklyn. Seating is limited. We got the fried pickles (so sour!), sunshine burger, and b-fast bun to go. I have to say I was most impressed with the bun. The bread, lentil burger, and Burmese tofu reminded me of siopao buns I used to eat before going meatless. Everything was tasty. Server I spoke with when picking up my food was cheerful. I would definitely return. P.S. there is a new vegan cafe called Familiars that opened up right across the street!

I love Toadstyle, definitely try the fried pickles in house, if you take them away they get a little soggy but still good. Can’t go wrong on this menu really.

Comfort food - Edit
Good comfort food, with burgers and the like. I’ve had a few of their sandwiches and really liked them. In general the food is great, but my one disappointment was the fried pickle. It was just a giant dill pickle cut into quarters, lightly battered, and deep fried. There was too little batter given the size of the pickle and it didn’t really adhere well, so it was just like eating an expensive (and hot) dill pickle. They’re open late, which is nice, but sometimes there’s a bit of a wait.

Palm-Oil Free Perfection - Edit
I ate the lentil burger, with arugula and tomato, on a pretzel bun. Fries were perfectly seasoned, and rainbow cookies tasted like the kind your grandma used to make. What gave me the most joy, however, was that this sweet spot is truly dedicated to animal welfare. They are palm oil free!

Just OK - Edit
When I choose to eat out and find vegan junk food, I really want to feel satisfied and fully indulge. With this expectation in mind, Toad Style disappointed me. I had fries, greek salad, gyro, sunshine burger.
Read moreSunshine burger was just too mushy, not the right combination of textures The sauce was flavorful but the overall bite was not. The pretzel bread was nice and soft but the overall textures and flavors were did not make for a satisfying bite. Fries were dark with no seasoning. Gyro had the tzaziki sauce and the mushrooms but was still so bland. I had higher expectations. Gyro was bland and watery. The best thing was the salad, but the portion size should have been bigger.
Music was alternative indie rock.

When I ate here I was trying to avoid the deep fried stuff and eat healthy. I had the tomato bisque soup-spicy and delicious. I also had the Greek salad which was terrific. This place is great.

Their coconut crusted oyster mushroom banh mi is good. Not too crazy about the BBQ jackfruit tacos (mainly because I despise soft shells). My absolute favorites from them, however, are their fried cauliflower and the Sunshine Burger! Those are delicious!

Hand cut fries tossed in rosemary and salt. Fried dark but not burnt. Pittsburgh people may recognize the similarity between Toad Style’s Fries and Wise Potato Chips. Fries served with house made ketchup sweet oniony pickled and runny. Chipped ham bbq, Yinz!
Gyro spicy savory saucy meaty mushrooms tossed in crisp romaine w/ loads of red onion rolled in a grilled fluffy chewy pita. Absolute gyro hit. Damn nice sandwich!
Philly molten gooey melange of smoked cashew and almond cheeses covered porto mushrooms and grill seasoned onions and peppers between a seasoned garlic crusty baguette. F*ck Yes, Thank You Toad Style!!!

We came here for lunch on a day that I wasn’t feeling particularly well. We both had the Casino Dog which featured yeah dawgs. It was tasty and filling. There is a small space to sit down there. Would have tried other things if only we’d had the time.

I had a sandwich and cashew cheese fries. One bite of the sandwich and at that moment, I never wanted any other food to enter my mouth again. If taste is the main concern, this place is a winner.
