Best pizza in SD - Edit
TNT is next level pizza. PICKLE PIZZA…need I say more???
Read morei love that they have variety of vegan options not just a boring veggie pizza and that’s it. We always go for a slice before shows or games downtown. It’s great they have vegan slices readily available and you don’t have to order a whole pie and wait. Their ranch is also TOP notch.
Pros: Variety, slices available always , convenient

Detroit Style Pizza (Vegan & GF) - Edit
Lots of Vegan n’ Gluten Free options. Large portions for the pricing (8” x 10” pizzas). We ordered the Corny Peener- GF & Buffalo Gal-GF. The side salad was large enough for 4 people (be sure to buy an extra vegan salad dressing, it comes with one).

After a long hike, we were super hungry & TNT Pizza hit the spot! Our favorite Vegan & GF pizza joint in SD so far. Thank you!

All the Vegan Pie-in-the-Sky Options - Edit
Nearly every pizza on the menu has a vegan option from thin crust to Chicago style. The ambience resembles your childhood memories of getting pizza at your favorite spot. My daughter was tripping out on the 25 cent plays of street fighter and fountain soda.

I got the Detroit style large marge pizza. The dough was on point, but they used way too much cheese so that it drowned out the toppings and all the other flavors on the pizza. For Detroit style, the pizza should have been cooked for a few minutes longer to develop a better texture for the cheese that gets cooked on the side of the pan. Overall, it was a decent pizza but it was not the next level pizza I would expect pay $29 for.
Read moreThe pizza place also had a ton of vegan options and pizza styles to choose from (Detroit, grandma, and new york).
This is why I would rate this place above average but not exceptional.

(almost) everything can be made vegan! - Edit
After eyeballing TNT for a while, I finally ordered through Ubereats the vegan Buffalo Gal, vegan cookie, and vegan ranch. The New York 18’ (for people like me who rarely eat pizza) is as big, and some, as you would imagine. The Buffalo Gal was delicious and loaded with toppings. I really liked the crust as well. However, be warned, it is heavy, and after a slice, I wished I had ordered a salad for the side. The ranch was fine but much better on the pizza than individually, in my opinion. The cookie was soft and absolutely delicious! I have never heard of Sugar Kiln (the bakery that makes the vegan cookie) before, but they are now on my radar.

Vegan Deep Dish is Good - Edit
I enjoyed their vegan deep dish. Friendly staff. Reasonable prices. They sell whole pies or by the slice. Not sure but I don’t think there are many places that make vegan deep dish.

Fav Pizza Spot - Edit
They have various vegan options to purchase a slice. I’ve tried a few and thought they were yummy. Vegan cheese can be tricky and they did a great job, IMO.

Today I tried their vegan House Classic Grandma, it was good but I had better pizza there. Fennel sausage was a bit too salty and slightly over cooked. I personally like their NY (thin) or grandma (medium) style better. All pizzas can be made vegan. They carry vegan mozzarella and vegan ricotta, in addition to a gluten free crust (I am not a big fan of). They also sell pizza by the slice with at least 3 vegan options to choose from. Never had a bad by the slice flavor there. Definitely the best vegan pizza downtown.

Decent - Edit
It decent. Not the best I’ve had, and not the worse. A little strange they have the pizza made already and then pre heat it. Can’t custom single slices which was disappointing. Overall, was okay. Won’t be back

Best pizza in San Diego - Edit
I lived in Brooklyn for 5 years and have been in Dan Diego for 3 years… I was always looking for good pizza! I am obsessed with TNT. The vegan cheese they use is unmatched and does not taste processed or plastic (generally how I feel about vegan cheese). 100% recommend this place!

Hip, casual joint with vegan slices. Walk up to the counter to order. Beer, vegan ranch, choose from available vegan slices or order whole pizza. Done in, out, or take away.

Overall, decent vegan Detroit style… - Edit
We ordered and tried all of the the vegan slices they had out and my favorite was the creamy corn cilantro slice. The Detroit style is the best vegan version I’ve tried so far but I probably wouldn’t get that again unless it was a freshly made personal pizza. The crust was a little tuff after re-heating it. Would definitely recommend for a quick bite to eat for lunch! The pepperoni to-go was okay but I probably wouldn’t get it again. The crust was Rudd the second time I went and I didn’t really enjoy the flavors of the pepperoni. There was a tang to it that I didn’t love. The corn pizza is still my favorite.

Great little place for vegan pizza. - Edit
I didn’t order a whole pie because I was traveling and didn’t want any left overs. I was looking to get a slice or two. On this day they had FOUR different vegan options to get for a slice. I got one NY style and a Detroit style. Both were delicious.
Read moreIf you’re into dressings and dips with your pizza they also offered me vegan ranch to try. It had a little bit of a kick and had more aioli-like consistency but it was delicious.

Too Burnt To Eat - Edit
I was so excited when TNT Pizza opened in East Village. I went in & bought a Detroit Style Crust Large Marge with 2 additional toppings, on Jan. 7, 2022. I was told it would take 20 minutes which is standard. I actually had to wait 35 minutes but I didn't mind. I just wanted to try their pizza. I was so disappointed when I took the first bite. The crust was so burnt & hard it was impossible to chew. My son tried to eat it also & wasn't able to. I was glad when I received a copy of my receipt via text. The text asked me to let them know how they did. I was honest & let them know I wasn't satisfied. The text asked if someone could contact me about my issues with the pizza. I thought someone would contact me to make good on the $38 I spent on the pizza or at the very least a discount on my next pizza. No one has contacted me at all & I won't hold my breath. I'll just chalk it up to another place that doesn't care about their customers.

Vegan pizza by the slice! - Edit
I don’t think I’ve ever been to a pizza shop that has vegan pizza by the slice, ready to go after a quick reheating. And there’s multiple vegan options to choose from! I think there was four different vegan pizzas to choose from when I was there. You can also order a full pizza. I tried the Detroit pizza, regular thin crust, and grandma’s pizza. All were delicious. The Detroit pizza was particular tasty. Slices are about $4 each.

10 Stars good! - Edit
This place is the best vegan food in SD and literally the best pizza I’ve ever had. They always have vegan pizza available by the slice, and Detroit style whole pies- it’s like this crunchy vegan cheese crust deep dish heaven. The New York thin crust is superb. You can tell they really care about impressing people with the vegan options, almost every specialty pie can be vegan without an up charge. Homemade EVERYTHING. Even the vegan ranch is the best ranch, I can’t with this place. Sooooo good.
