Very disappointing experience for the price and Michelin rating, especially compared to the other vegan fine-dining option in Vienna (Jola). The vegan menu seems far inferior to the vegetarian menu. Our main course was gnocchi which tasted like bits of dough in bland tomato sauce. Other dishes also lacked flavor and portions were very small, we had to get a second meal elsewhere. Go to Jola instead for a far better vegan fine-dining experience!

We had a shared menu, one half vegan, other half vegetarian. The (very friendly!) waitress always pointed the non-vegan ingr out. The food was amazing and most of the food was vegan anyways. Over all a 10/10 experience!

Revised: Sad but will not return (Original: Wow....! What a special, delightful experience to eat here!) - Edit
Revising my July 2023 review, when I gave this place 5 stars. In my 3rd visit (July 2024), some of the dishes were still great (their desert is still so, so good), but the service was poor, a few dishes were only okay (wasn't a fan of sour gnocchi devoid of umami), the bread was stale (never happens in Austria!!), and they charged us a bottle of wine we didn't order. Our main female server was unfriendly, and when I said the bread was too hard, she had an attitude, and the second basket was exactly the same stale bread. To their credit, when a male server came and asked about everything and I mentioned bad bread, he brought it to the kitchen and came back admitting it was stale, and comped our cappuccinos. But then as I was about to leave, wondering why this was more expensive than last week (my second visit, which was 4 stars, with a super friendly male server and great, fresh bread, but very salty risotto), it turned out that the first unfriendly server charged us a bottle of wine (54 euros) we didn't order. Then instead of returning the money back to my credit card, they gave me the cash, which is not great (my US credit card gets charged fees for the amount). I was with my 81-year-old mom visiting all the way from Tokyo, so excited to bring her to this place, and it was just really sad how it wasn't the same joy and deliciousness, and how rude and unprofessional this server was. This was the first time I didn't have my Austrian friend with me, and I wonder if that's why they treated us badly (we were speaking to each other in Japanese), even charging us something we didn't order. I won't return, sadly.
Read more(Original review, July 2023) The food here was not only very, very tasty, but also original, beautifully presented, and nourishing. Each of the four courses was brought at a perfect pace by attentive and friendly staff, who explained all the ingredients (some delightfully surprising, all so fresh) and how they were cooked. It was such an epic arc, from appetizers to desert! Everything was delicious, including drinks and bread, and all the dishes were so creative and complex, with layers of subtle flavors nicely integrated. For the unique and satisfying high-cuisine experience, the price was very reasonable. Loved the setting, as well. Other than cheesecake, one of the three dessert dishes we got as a group of three, everything was vegan!

wonderful athmosphere and great food - exquisite combinations of taste and texture bring various delicious dishes to your table, for example expertly seasoned lentil-stuffed red pepper and red beet tartar or one of the best mushroom risottos i ever had (and so much more!). they use a lot of regional and seasonal food so expect the menu to change throughout the year. definitely recommend!

Wow, just wow. What a great experience and dinner my wife and I had at Tian Bistro am Spittelberg. We were seated in the outdoor seating area where we were able to choose a nice and private table in the back. Straight away we were impressed by how well organised and professional the staff was, while still being spontaneous and warm.
Read moreThere's a set menu with the only choice being a vegetarian or a vegan one. In the vegetarian one you will probably get some animal butter alongside the bread and there might be butter or cheese in some of the other dishes (e.g. the risotto). For the vegan menu, this was replaced by a vegan lavender 'butter' and the risotto was made with cashews. One of the desserts on the menu also was entirely different when you choose the vegan option.
All of the food was incredibly delicious, I couldn't fault any of it. Everything is prepared with care, which you can really see and taste. Some dishes were served cold, others warm. The kombucha was also very good.
One of the best restaurants I've visited in my lifetime. Hopefully they decide to go fully vegan one day.

I am so glad that I visited TIAN Bistro during my stay in Vienna! The food, the staff, the drinks, everything is spot on!
Read moreFirst of all, the food is amazing! Refined, tasty and creative with a lot of vegetables. The menu starts with different cold starters, followed by two warm starters, then two main dishes and last but not least two desserts. You share the food so you can taste every dish!
They serve several homemade drinks. I tried the kombucha, it was really delicious!
The staff is so friendly and professional. For example, our second course was already served even though we had not yet finished the first course. The waiter came to our table to tell us that he had asked the kitchen to slow down a bit so that we could take our time. He was very attentive. The staff also ask if you want the vegan or vegetable menu. I never had such friendly, wonderful service!

We were 4 people and had the sunday Brunch, we arrived at 11 and stayed till 14. Then the Bistro closes. We had a great time. It was very delicious, little expensive, but it's worth it. You have to reserve very early. I'm totally vegan and they switched the Butter and Kipferl for some vegan alternative. You have to share your food, so you should be there with some loved people, otherwise it could be strange 😅 And you can order a main-meal for your own. So that's really enough. 👍

Amazing restaurant that is plant based. The menu is seasonal (the pumpkin main dish made from three types of pumpkins was phenomenal) and is available as a vegetarian or vegan option. At 50(e)/person for a tasting menu of ~7 courses, the price is also excellent for the value/quality of the food.

My partner and I went here as a bit of a treat to ourselves while in Vienna. The main restaurant was booked but we managed to get a table here. The restaurant has two terraces as well as the inside which was good as we were there on a hot August evening.
Read moreThe restaurant has two options. The veggie or vegan tasting menu. We , of course, opted for the vegan tasting menu. The wine list is extensive with around 80 different wines, most of which are local. I am not familiar with Austrian wines so the waiter recommended a white natural wine for us . This was delicious.
For €51 each you get a lot of food. You have around 5 starter dishes, including bread and two mains with two desserts. For me the stand out dishes were the beetroot tartare, artichoke, stuffed courgette flowers and the chocolate dessert.
They have local schnapps that we finished our dinner with.
