Great food and great service - Edit
Amazing menu. I wish I could have been able to try more things because everything looked great. The scramble tofu was seasoned perfectly and the pancakes were super light and fluffy.

At last - relief!!! - Edit
We thought there was no good vegan food in Vegas after a few less than stellar meals. We were wrong! This place is great! Nice atmosphere, great service and omg the food! My Boeuf Fettuccine and the BBQ Mac N Cheese my partner got were divine! I also enjoyed the lemonade refills.😄Highly recommended!

After a few days of disappointing vegan food in Vegas, this was the redemption arc I needed.

So good! - Edit
The Modern Vegan has a huge menu! They offer all day breakfast, lunch and dinner. The service was excellent. I would go back! I had the French Toast Bacon Grilled Cheese which came with a side of potatoes and fruit. The portions were very filling. And the prices are reasonable.

Fun & Delectable - Edit
This is a well run establishment. My bartendress/waitress was very attentive, as was the server girl.
Read moreFirst I ordered the Cadillac lime margarita (I ended up having another during my meal). It was perfect, not too strong or weak.
For an appetizer, I chose the cauliflower wings. They did not disappoint! I had them with three different sauces: 1) the ranch, 2) the barbecue & 3) the TMV sauce. All were excellent. The wings have that perfect balance of external crispiness and internal, delicate cauliflower tenderness.
For my entree I chose “The Cowboy” burger, and chose the french fries as a side. Oh my god!, I was transported into culinary heaven with both of these! It was like a religious ritual!
The menu is truly huge. I wish I lived in Vegas so I could try out more from the gigantic selection TMV offers!
And yes — somewhat expensive, but in my opinion, more than worth it.

Unforgettable - Edit
My expectations were very high coming in based on all of the positive things I had heard about the restaurant, but I can confidently say that my expectations were exceeded. I ate the Louisiana Fried Chick’n (pictured) while my dining partner got the cauliflower buffalo wings. The mashed potatoes served with the chick’n were unbelievable and were the clear standouts of an overall really solid meal. I wish I had more time here to try more from the extensive menu. I cannot recommend this enough😄

It was good, but could be better - Edit
I've eaten here two times. The first time was in October 2018, and the second time was recently in September 2023.
Read moreDuring my first visit, I was extremely impressed and thought it was absolutely delicious. During my second more recent visit, I thought it was good, but it could have been better.
During both visits, I tried the What Happens in Vegas, which is tofu scramble, vegan bacon, vegan sausage, breakfast potatoes, asparagus, and sourdough toast. I was new in my plant-based journey (plant-based for less than one month) during my first visit, so it's possible my tastebuds have just evolved. I've been plant-based for six years now. I'm not a huge tofu person, and it has to be cooked a certain way for me to really really enjoy it. This may have been why I wasn't as pleased. I like Just Egg better.

Ripped off by the Manager of The Modern Vegan - Edit
My phoned-in takeout order from The Modern Vegan's online menu included a "Rancho", containing as its primary ingredient "two breaded chicken cutlets". After getting the order back to my room, it was discovered that the (extraordinarily expensive) sandwich only included one chicken patty. Upon phoning TMV to ask for either a partial refund, or the "missing" second patty described in the online menu, the woman on the phone said that the menu had changed recently, and the information on the website was wrong. So basically she was telling me "tough luck, stupid customer, to expect to receive what you had ordered". After a bit of back and forth, the woman said that staffers couldn't do anything to remedy the situation, only the manager could. So, I asked her to phone her manager, who was not currently on site. After a long delay, a male staff member came on the phone and told me that the manager ("Lily") was not going to do anything. After more back and forth, he suggested that I could come in the next day and speak to "Lily" in person. I instead phoned the restaurant the next day, and spoke to a male staff member who asked what I was calling about. I told him the facts, and he relayed back to me that "Lily" was in the kitchen because they were short staffed, and she wasn't willing to talk to me. And she also wasn't going to do anything to make the situation right. I told the staffer that at the very least I would like my 20% tip refunded. He said that I should contest the charge with my credit card company. Then he hung up on me, so I called him back, and after a brief exchange, he hung up again. Great customer service, NOT, from management on down! Within 48 hours of my original phone call, the online menu had coincidentally been updated to no longer say that the "Rancho" contains two patties. In other words, a "bait and switch" had (probably not intentionally) been pulled on me, but rather than showing appreciation for alerting TMV to the error on their website by providing a partial refund, I was basically told to get lost. This was a very bad experience that could have been easily remedied, but due to a flippant, unprofessional manager who obviously cares nothing about customer relations, it has led to this warning to other customers to double-check whether what is described on the TMV menu is actually what they are receiving. And based on various other social media reviews, it'd also be wise to double-check their bills to make sure the numbers add up.

Follow-up to 11 Sept 2023 review: After placing a "Problems with Product/Service" complaint with the Better Business Bureau re: not being provided with what was advertised on TMVs Sept. 7th website menu, TMV management continued their defiant, insolent behavior by deliberately deflecting/refusing to address the actual complaint --- i.e., not receiving what was being advertised online --- while repeatedly supplying false information to the BBB regarding easily verifiable facts such as menu details and reviews submitted.
Read moreDespite the fact that indisputable proof --- i.e., a time/date-stamped screenshot of the description of 'The [two-patty] Rancho' at the time that the phone order was placed on Sept. 7th --- was provided by the customer verifying that TMV had screwed up, the petulant management continued to refuse to admit they'd made a mistake in not accurately updating their website menu.
The outcome of the dispute is that the BBB has lowered TMV's rating. Any business willing to behave so unprofessionally over an obvious error on their part suggests they don't value their customers. With so many wonderful, more reasonably-priced vegan restaurants in Las Vegas who *do* appreciate their customers and act in a trustworthy manner, TMV seems an obvious place to avoid.

Convenient proximity to the airport - Edit
My husband and I stopped by here right after leaving the airport. It was a very welcome reprieve from our travels. The restaurant is less than 2 miles from the airport and close to the strip so it's very convenient. The food was absolutely amazing and the atmosphere was very relaxing. I loved that there was such a variety of different types of food to try on the menu. Both my husband and I loved our food and the smoothie we split really hit the spot! Our server was very friendly and welcoming. I don't have a single bad thing to say other than that it was a little pricey but not too bad compared to similar restaurants. I would highly recommend this restaurant!

Average food at best - Edit
We were super excited to try this place based on the menu and all of the high ratings and good comments. For appetizers we got the breakfast potatoes skins, jalapeno poppers, and poutine. They were all excellent and had us stoked for our mains. Unfortunately, the mains were just ok. The chicken Parm was loaded with onions and peppers. Is it a Philly cheese steak or a chicken Parm? Regardless it was just average. The spicy penne was decent but not spicy and not seasoned well. It was just average. 2 people got the pad Thai. Both were sent back to the kitchen. I've never seen peanut butter on pad Thai. And this was overwhelmingly loaded with peanut butter. It was not good. Just imagine noodles with peanut butter dumped on them and that's what you get. Finally the buffalo chicken queso dip was literally disgusting and inedible. I don't know what their cheese sauce is made from but it is not good. Also the food all came out at different times. One meal was brought to the table about 10-15 before the rest of our order. The waitress never once asked us if we wanted another drink wit empty glasses on the table. I've been vegan for 11 years and living in the Portland area for most of it. If TMV was really voted the best restaurant in Vegas I'm worried about trying other vegan joints in the area.

Great milkshakes. We tried strawberry and oreo. We prefer the Oreo because the strawberry tasted like candy. We had the Fried Jumbo Shrimp as an appetizer and it was excellent. For our main course we tried several items and I’ve added the pics. I did not take a pic of the garlic bread which was yummy. This will be our first stop next time we are back in town.
