Fantastic Vegan Food & Grocery

This venue is great for quality vegan food. They have veganised most of the modern Western foods. They do fantastic breakfasts with scrambled tofu!

Pros: Amazing vegan food.

Cons: Medium pricing.

Excellent

A proper place to get a proper feed. The staff make you feel at home. The menu has a good variety of dishes; full breakfasts, burgers, meals, desserts etc. All vegan.

Afterwards, you can browse the store to buy some supplies for when you get home.

It's always a treat.

Pros: Good food, Good value, Friendly atmosphere

Cons: Dishes can be oily

Has pretty much everything

So fun to see this place on the northside. Fab range of groceries particularly snacks and things that aren't available in the big retailers or health food shops. Everything is vegan so takes the label reading out which makes the experience more fun. Cafe is fab too - avoid busy times if you can as the kitchen is small and staff few but the food homey and tasty. It feels great to support this local business.

Radiates Goodness!

As the title suggests, this place absolutely radiates love and goodness. Extensive menu, delicious food, and a very tempting sweets cabinet. The market attached is also full of great vegan products, I could spend hours here!

Vegan goodies hub ;)

I arrived here with a friend almost one hour after closing time on Sunday, having mixed up the times, yet Nev and his partner, who run the show, were still there finishing up and let us in to buy things.

They have a good range of products from various parts of the world in a nice, light-looking store. Unfortunately, because a lot of products are imported, this also makes them more pricey, but many people, i think, go for a treat or a splurge, rather than as a weekly shop.

This was the first time i'd driven to this incarnation of the store, and was a bit worried i might not get parking on the small street you enter on. As it turns out, they have their own little parking area, which was great for the time we arrived.

If you got there when the store was busy, though, i guess you'd likely have to find somewhere else.

We can be thankful we get access to the range of products The Edge offers, including a variety of frozen and refrigerated goods, and do it all in a store dedicated to vegan food and other products.

Pros: friendly owners, fair range, right next to vegan cafe

Cons: bit pricey, not warehouse size ; ), parking limited

Good range, Bad prices.

I usually spend around $200 each time I visit the green edge. Mainly because I want to support local vegan grocery stores, and because I want to try new products. I'm always impressed with the range of merchandise but disappointed by expensive prices.

Pros: A great range of vegan food, Friendly Staff

Cons: Expensive prices, Out of stock

Great range of supermarket products !

I was excited to try this place after hearing about it. I had a hard time choosing from the menu..was feeling like something filling and substantial so ended up ordering sundered tomato pasta with a creamy coconut sauce. I was disappointed to discover there was not a creamy coconut sauce but a very oily one like I try to avoid when I eat pasta out. It tasted great though so I ate most of it trying to avoid the oil. Next time I'll go for a burger they looked good. Service a bit vague, forgot my chips. Supermarket experience was what impressed me ! Finally found a huge range of supplies ! Will be returning mostly for that reason.

Pros: product selection in their fridge

Cons: table service, oily

Awesome store!!

My partner and I went to The Green Edge Cafe and store a few weeks ago, it is fantastic! I found so many vegan goodies, including marshmallows, cookies and bars. There is a large freezer range, including ice cream, falafel, veggie burgers, tofu ect. They also had lots of different types of flours (chickpea, quinoa ect) and various vegan baking alternatives such as condensed milk which I was very excited about. While we were there we had lunch, I ordered the veggie burger, it was good, a little spicy for me but I can't handle very spicy food, my partner got the nachos, they were good also, we shared a strawberry milkshake which was very delicious with whipped cream on the top. It's great having an all vegan shop like this where I know I can get different bits and pieces for baking and snacks. We will definitely be returning soon.

Pros: Friendly staff, Good food, Wide range

A Brisbane Vegan's Staple

I have been coming here for years now. The Green Edge makes the most excellent, satisfying vegan meals. Their menu is full of traditionally non-vegan foods that are so so hard to find elsewhere. Try their pancakes for breakfast, and make sure you get a strawberry milkshake topped with whipped cream alongside it. Lunch? Their satay tofu burger (with hand-cut potato chips) is super satisfying, as are their nachos (which are smothered in guac & Daiya cheese). Their dinner service is lovely too, and desserts are to die for. Try ordering a hot chocolate here, as it will always come with a marshmallow on top.

The service is usually speedy, and the owners are especially kind.

I'll forever be a return customer.

Pros: Incredible food, Large portions, Wide variety of menu items

Outstanding!

A friend took me to The Green Edge for lunch and I enjoyed it so much I returned with my boyfriend the very next day. The first day I had the mushroom burger and while it was good it was my choice of Truffled Button Mushroom Fettuccine on my second visit that really blew me away. Delicious! My boyfriend had the risotto and it was great too.

I'm definitely happy to recommend this place.

Pros: The food!, Convenient for train., Service

Cons: I'll get fat

Good food, great non-dairy milkshakes

After a not very restful overnight flight, my mother picked me up from the airport and asked me where I wanted to go for lunch. I'd been to the Green Edge Cafe before (albeit a long time before), so had a pretty good idea that the food was good, and it was conveniently accessible from the airport.

Upon arriving we sat down and ordered our meals. I had the nachos and a maple (soy)milkshake my mother had a risotto and a coffee (soy)milkshake. The milkshakes were both delicious. I had whipped (soy)cream on top and it was incredibly rich and wonderful. The risotto was also delicious, fulfilling all of my (non-vegan) mother's expectations. I have to admit that the nachos were a little disappointing though. There was a bit too much bean mixture, and, being the first time I had ever had daiya cheese, I was a bit disappointed. It was still very edible, but not as good as everything else.

Overall a very good experience. The food was good and the service was quick. The price was more than I'm used to paying (in Japan), but fairly standard for Australia.

Pros: Good food, Great non-dairy milkshakes

One of my favourite places to eat in Brissy

The Green Edge is definitely one of my favourite places to eat in Brisbane for a casual meal. You can have something quick and easy like a 'cheesy' toasty or something more filling like a risotto or fettuccine and their cook does a perfect job. While you are there you can pick up some yummy cruelty-free groceries.

Every region needs a Green-Edge.

Pros: Great variety of yummy vegan food, Cruelty-free shopping at the same place, Good prices and lovely staff

Cons: I stuff myself cos I can't get eough

All Vegan! Must try the Sub

This place is a treat; serving up good hearty home style food that tastes amazing. The Sub is the best comfort food ever. The shop could do with some sprucing up however. The fist time I visited there was a pile of boxes at the door which is not a good look - it seems as though they were half way through reinnervating? Some plants could seriously live'n this old place up!

Pros: fully vegan plus grocer, hearty meals

Cons: Poor shop arrangment

Disappointed!

After reading so many recent positive reviews,we decided to try brunch some 3 weeks ago.Our initial gut reaction was "let's go elsewhere',but we were hungry after travelling up from Byron. The ambience was bland. The service was perfunctory, the coffee weak. After eatig a fry up and scrambied tofu,we both felt queasy and emotionally flat for several hours after.Never again!

Cons: Boring setting, Weak coffee, Uninspiring food

Vegan heaven

Despite being a little out of the way, I couldn't resist hopping on the train to visit an all-vegan grocery store and cafe. My partner ordered the spicy seitan burger, which he deemed first equal with a Vege Rama burger as the best he'd had, and I ordered the meatball sub - really yum, but the cheese was a little "blue" tasting, which was a bit much for me. For dessert, we ordered the brownie sundae - indulgently delicious. Make sure you have time to browse the store - the ice cream cabinet is particularly impressive (or heartbreaking if, like me, you don't have a freezer to bring some home to).

Pros: Yummy food, Sooo many vegan ice creams, No label checking!

Cons: A little pricy, A little out of the way

Lunch 20.3.2014

Had a mushroom burger with chips and salad. while it tasted amazing I was just a bit concerned about the amount of oil that dripped onto my plate from the burger. Had a soy decaf latte that was just a bit strong apart from that would have no problems recommending The green Edge for a meal.

Pros: location, choice of food, ambiance

Great New Location

We had read some older reviews saying there was limited seating, so were delighted to find that the cafe has moved and expanded. Lots of room now, a great cafe with excellent variety, and a grocery store where vegans don't have to read the ingredients. Heaven! The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. Everything we ordered was great quality and good portions. The mushroom burger was my favourite, really delicious.

Pros: Delicious food, great variety, friendly staff, Grocery lines, so one-stop shop

Cons: A bit pricey but ok cuz vegan specialty

Best Vegan Burgers in Brisbane bar none! Go now!

The Green Edge is a great place - their variety of vegan burgers are the best in Brisbane - no-one can compete if you like a burger! Tried their meatball sub today - WOW! Satay Burger, Mushroom burger - they amaze! We followed them to the new store in Windsor and we are so impressed. They also do cakes, grocery lines, frozen goods, hot pies, juices, and more! Get there and enjoy! They also do breakfast and Coffee and never fail to impress. Love the food, the vibe, the staff, the owners.

Pros: Best Burgers ever - thank you!, Vegan - so don't worry, just eat, Lots of stuff to choose from

Cons: Grocery lines can be a bit $$$

Always Amazing!

We've been to the green edge a couple of times now for breakfast and lunch and were always amazed by the quality of the food. The staff is very friendly and welcoming and the place has a friendly vibe. We went here with my parents who are non-vegans and usually a bit suspicious when it comes to vegan food - they were very happy and absolutely satisfied with the portions. I recommend the peanutbutter milkshake and mushroom stack!

Pros: vegan shop, great quality, happy staff

Great vegan cafe and grocery store

Since moving to their new location the cafe has expanded in size and has a number of tables, so it is now a great place for a family lunch or breakfast. The menu changes seasonally so I'm not sure what they have currently. But when I was there last winter my faves were the toasted sandwiches and the pancake stack with white and brown chocolate layers, ice cream and maple syrup. The peanut butter milkshake was out of this world. They often experiment with new dishes and can occasionally be a bit hit and miss, but I suggest you persevere and find out what dishes you like for return visits. You can also conveniently pick up a big range of vegan groceries and cruelty free toiletries and cleaning products while you are there. I always aim to fit in several visits whenever I am in Brisbane.

Pros: Great vegan food, Knowledgeable friendly vegan staff, Vegan groceries available

The best vegan place in brissie!

I cannot even begin to explain how awesome The Green Edge is! There are very few places in Brisbane that I would take non-vegan/vego friends and family, but the green edge is absolutely perfect, all their food tastes awesome and the staff are just great.
My partner and I go here atleast once a fortnight. The breaksfasts are super tasty, the big breakfast is absolutely huge, and so delicious. The burgers are rad, and anyone who hasn't yet had the peanut butter milkshake is missing out.
The owner is super friendly and they're always willing to change food around, or make us weird combinations. I cannot give these guys enough praise. Can't wait till they start doing dinners aswell.
They have a huge grocery range, and yes alot of it is expensive, but they're luxury items and you're supporting a locally run family business, not some supermarket chain.
I'm really happy to see this place getting busier and busier!

Pros: Super Yummy Food!, Great Friendly Staff, Wide selection of Vegan groceries

Cons: None!
