I came here with two friends who aren’t vegan. I wasn’t sure how big the sushi rolls were so I ordered a Treehugger Roll and the Sweet Potato Cold Noodle Salad with tofu added. The roll was really good but the noodle salad was awful. It didn’t taste like anything and just had a lingering heat on my lips. The tofu was unseasoned and one of the slabs of it was still frozen in the middle. I don’t think I’ll be back to try anything here anytime soon.

We loved our meal here. We had the Treehugger sushi, Beetbox sushi, Vegetarian Rolls, and we asked for avocado rolls for my youngest daughter which they happily provided. My husband had the Heavenly Veggie burger, which is marked as vegetarian but might be possible to have it vegan. No vegan deserts sadly.

Food was okay. I got the treehugger and edamame. Edamame was cold. Service was terrible. They tried to sit us at an extremely dirty booth. Booth seats were wet all around. Huge pieces of food on the floor. And we were ignored the whole time. Server was nice but maybe overwhelmed and maybe her section was full. Would not go back again.

really did not relate to all the neg reviews that cowfish has on here. i got the treehugger roll modified to be vegan and it was one of the best sushi rolls i’ve had in my life. the staff was super sweet and helpful as well. the ambiance of this restaurant is super cool too. there’s not a bunch of options but like i don’t need a lot of options when one of the options is as good as the treehugger is!

So while this place has very limited vegan options, I thoroughly enjoyed the vegetarian rolls (which are the only vegan rolls!) and the sea salt edamame. Unfortunately, the tree hugger rolls contain mushrooms that can be removed to make it “vegan”, however, it is fried in the same fryer as other rolls.. therefore, cross contamination. It looks like they have a vegan salad also (Goat in the Garden minus the goat cheese). Service was fairly quick as well! Enjoyable experience.

I tried the tree hugger roll. I was excited about the mushrooms that were supposed to come in it, but they said to make it vegan, you had to take those out. I was not a fan of them and sent them back and has two orders of the veggie roll instead. The first veggie roll cane out with plenty of avocado. The second cane with so little that it wasn’t as good. I was very disappointed. My husband got the veggie burger, he thought it was flavorful, but it kind of collapsed and fell apart. I tried a bite, it was ok by itself. I probably wouldn’t go back, especially since I had a stomach ache right after eating there.
Read moreThey did have the option of a mini veggie burger which I almost got after my food was a flop. There was a bento box option with a mini veggie burger and a sushi roll, so that might be a good option in a pinch.
Not saying not to try it for yourself. I would recommend asking for extra avocado in the veggie roll and maybe skipping the tree hugger roll.

Great fusion options! - Edit
We really like the vegan sushi roll options at the Cowfish - we found non-traditional items, hence the term fusion, included in the roll like mushroom, red pepper, red onion and basil. This was the “tree hugger” on the menu. Our choices from the extensive craft beer list and long cocktail menu were able to complement our afternoon.
Read moreStaff was knowledgeable and was able to efficiently point to the dishes that can be prepared vegan. You definitely need to ask as the vegan burger as listed came with a non-vegan bun but can be substituted with a proper option.
Great atmosphere. We would go here again.
