Traditional Lebanese Food

I've been here a few times in the past and tried the Maghmour (traditional dish with aubergines, chickpeas, onions & tomato sauce, served with rice) and Falafel (both vegetarian main dishes). The last time I went I asked if the falafel were fried in the same oil as meat - yes! I forgot that this is often the case in restaurants. Some people may not mind this, but as a strict vegan it would put me off ordering the dish.

Overall the food is well presented, the restaurant is nicely decorated and it's always been busy any time I've visited.

Excellent vegan mezze

We decided to treat ourselves to the vegan mezze for two, for €52. We got an amazing spread: hummus, falafel, baba ganoush, spinach pastries, stuffed vine leaves, olives, fattoush, and more! Everything was really flavoursome, and there was a broccoli and cauliflower dip that was especially delicious. We were pretty full after all that, and thankfully the main dish was quite light - a slightly sweet tomato and aubergine stew with rice. I'd really recommend it, we enjoyed everything very much!

Cosy Friendly & Best Falafels

Had a quick lunch here. Lots of clearly marked vegan starters and 2 vegan main courses. There is also a vegan sharing plate for 2.
I enjoyed the friendly cosy atmosphere. The spinach & lentil soup was like a consommé & good. The falafels were easily the best I have ever had , simply & beautifully presented.

Nice Lebanese food

A nice little Lebanese restaurant with enough vegan options for mezze and warm dishes. Because the mezze plate is only available for two, I had a egg plant stew, which was nice and flavourful. Some of the staff were really nice, some were a bit inpatient.

Pros: Clear vegetarian and vegan options, nice staff

Cons: mezze plate can only be ordered for two

Should Be 5 Stars

Because this isn't a 100% Veggie or Vegan the Happy Cow wont allow me to award The Cedar Tree 5 Stars but it deserves it because it was a fantastic experience. Not only are the staff amazing but the food was absolutely delicious. I was honestly spoiled for choice so so many vegan options and they even had a vegan mezze buffet. The hummus was amazing. I highly recommend you visit.

Pros: Tonnes of Vegan options to chose from and the food

Cons: None

5 STARS

I went to the cedar tree for lunch and got a main (falafel) and starter (tabouli salad) for 12 euros (both are vegan). The food was delicious. I especially liked their homemade pita bread. The staff was what really made my experience. They were so sweet having conversations with me and giving me other things to try for free. They gave me mint tea, more pita, and when I went to the bathroom at the end of my meal, there was a vegan dessert on my table. This was the best/most genuine experience/service I've ever had at a restaurant and I am from the states where people work for tips. It's a must go when in Dublin!

Pros: amazing staff, delicious food, nice restaurant
