Good menu - Edit
Visited SunMoon this after for a pit stop. It’s on a nice bright corner with seating inside, and for those partial to people watching, outside.
Read moreTried the lentil filled pastry pancakes and vegan cookies because we weren’t too hungry, both were delicious. The menu has really good vegan choices, might come back another day for round two…

Okay vegan food - Edit
I came here for dinner and I'll be honest it wasn't my favorite.. maybe other things on the menu would be better and the baked goods in their window looked good but I just didn't enjoy my dinner that much. I got the vegan lukanska sausage and a pizza and neither really hit the spot, the sausage made of beets, sundried tomatoes and sunflower seeds sounded really good but I didn't love it. Would be willing to give this place another shot but just didn't bother while I was in Sofia. I also got a protein smoothies but it was kinda warm and really thin so it was kinda like a chocolate milk.

Good vegan banitsas - Edit
We came here for breakfast and it was great! They had a wide variety of banitsas, most of which were vegan. I also tried a traditional drink made of rye, water and sugar.

Great vegan banitza! - Edit
Very cool cafe with several vegan options. I bought 2 different vegan banitzas (mushroom one was my favourite but both were great). I also got an apple strudel which I'll try later.

Fantastic Veggie Cafe - Edit
We stopped here for the vegan banitza and lemonade/iced tea on our first day in Sofia and really enjoyed it. Both the mushroom and lentil banitzas were delicious and their hibiscus iced tea was fantastic. Super nice outdoor seating too. We saw their large menu and decided to return the next day for lunch and we were not disappointed! They veganized many traditional Bulgarian dishes and everything we had was delicious. Prices were very reasonable (maybe a little expensive for Sofia but we thought it was very reasonable given the quality of the food). I would definitely recommend to any vegetarian/vegan visiting Sofia!

Only alright - Edit
The food is alright, their strengths are definitely the baked goods. The bread is really awesome and it's a nice touch that they have vegan banitsa.
Read moreThe staff are lovely but seem a bit all over the place. Unfortunately we were served a pizza with cow's cheese which really ruined the mood for me.
The ambience is nice but it gets quite busy on the weekends.
Edit:
After having been here around 20 times now, I can say that the food is still just ok, it’s such a shame that a lot of the dishes contain animal products, as I don’t appreciate having to ask to veganise a dish (which they are happy to do for you - at least).
I also feel like their food remains quite unimaginative and their menu hasn’t really changed during the last few years.

Tons of potential - Edit
If they only changed a couple of things this place would be amazing.Great location and atmosphere.
Read moreThey have great ideas for dishes and good bread.Nice decor and friendly staff.
They really need to serve bigger portions.
Way too small for the prices.
I left there hungry.
Vegan food is naturally lower in calories and so you must eat more. These tiny portions don't work.
I had tempeh curry and rice.Rice for too oily and firm.Just rice and tempeh.
Not good enough really.
Tiny little bit of pickled veggies on the side.
I would still recommend this place.
Pros: Friendly Staff, Decor, Bread
Cons: Small portions sizes, Not enough veggies in the dish.

Room Temp Banista & Brown Lemonade - Edit
We're glad to have been able to try vegan banista. We tried two versions, but wish they had been served warm. The strawberry lemonade was decent, though the brown color was a bit strange and off-putting. The outdoor seating was nice and the place was quite busy. The service was fast and attentive.

Lots of choices - Edit
The staff were really friendly and helped work out what we wanted to eat. I tried a mushroom pizza with a vegan cheese that was great, and the lukanka sausage which had really nice flavour but was much too dry. Portions were generous, I couldn't eat everything so ended up taking the leftover pizza home and it was even better the next day.

Traditional bulgarian dish veganised - Edit
I had a tasty mushroom stew that was veganised traditional Bulgarian food. Nice to get to eat some local cuisine and not only international vegan food. I also had a local craft ale. Staff were really nice and helpful.

can be great - Edit
used to have my favorite vegan dish (beet patty) in sofia but it disappeared from menu post-lockdown. has lots of other nice vegan dishes but can be a bit small depending on your appetite. has a nice little sitting area outside on the edge of a cool five way intersection and has great vegan cookies for dessert.

The best times are over - Edit
I am in Sofia once a year for many years now and was very happy when the place initially opened. Last year it was still good but now I was puzzled by the small quantity of food on the plate. I ordered stuffed zucchini which is supposed to be a main dish and got a small portion like an appetizer so I had to order another main dish (the quantity was also small). Sofia has plenty of good places now for vegan and vegetarian food, so I no longer consider Sun&Moon as my favorite option. What a pity!

So delicious! - Edit
We went here many times during our time in Sofia. Everything from their baked goods to the menu items were delicious. Nice atmosphere both for the outside patio (sans smokers) and inside (the small space upstairs, or the roomier spaces downstairs. The specials were often interesting/seasonal (we had nettles one night) and delicious as well.

One of my favoriets - Edit
I spend almost 6 months in Sofia as an Erasmus student and sun and moon mostly this one because it was the closest to my home was one of my favorite places to get my bread. But also all the other delicious things they have like the cookies and Banitza. They are a 100% vegetarian restaurant and have enough vegan options. It is not super cheap but for what you get it is good priced I think. So I highly recommend sun and moon to everyone in Sofia.

Such a good find - Edit
I was staying in Sophia for a few days for work and was recommended this place by a friend. They have so many vegan options and can alter things from the menu for you to make them dairy free. Also so many vegan cakes! Food was really tasty and at a great price. Ended up coming every day for lunch.
