I loved my visit to this restaurant! Everything I had was delicious, and I hope more people will support their vegan menu so they can return to being fully plant-based. Our server got a bit mixed up with our order since we were dining in and ordering takeout at the same time, an unfortunate hiccup. The atmosphere is casual, welcoming, and perfect for a relaxed meal.

I wanted to like this place more but a few things let it down. The restaurant is really great as you walk in nice and luscious we were really surprised. Sadly the service was not great and just basics were not there. I feel we got unlucky as a second server was really on the ball. Portions were big the burger was great. Pasta dish was dry and no flavour.

They build a trust with the community and then assume your loyalty when they default on their principles. That’s all have been thrown out to the wayside to support animal exploitation items on the menu.

Sun cafe has come a long way since their early years of offering gourmet, plant based raw food. Their food has evolved over the years into a diverse, creative and delicious menu. They put much care and thought into their food and you can taste the difference. You can always count on a satisfying and flavorful meal accompanied with a nice ambiance.
I recommend trying both the kale and strawberry shakes, tempeh burger, kale salad, pizza and the nachos.

The parking lot is limited and most people opt for street, because it's easier most of the time.
Restrooms are 100% gender neutral and open to all.
They have a full bar, stellar wine selection and great beer + cocktails.

The Omelette is out of this world, the breakfast platter is to die for and every shake is delicious. Dogs are allowed on the patio and staff are so friendly. Support this place!! (Ps: the only thing I wouldn‘t order again is the matcha latte. unfortunately tasted bitter and wasn‘t prepared at the right temperature)

The outside courtyard is extremely quaint with its string lighting, beautifully lush trees & vegetation, and fire pit with bench seating. Inside, the restaurant presents itself like a home away from home, complete with cute photos of farm animals which ordain the walls to remind you why you're about to eat VEGAN food. Every server conducts themselves with both a professionalism and passion for their career which is obvious to see right off the bat. The menu is HUGE and caters to everything you may be in the mood for, and includes an ALL DAY breakfast menu which boasts arguably the greatest dish on the menu - The Breakfast Sandwich. If you've had it you know why I say that; if you haven't, have it. They service all types of cuisine - from French American to Italian to Japanese (including sushi and ramen!) to Mexican and even Greek/middle eastern. The drink menu is EXTENSIVE and includes freshly made smoothies and juices - sweet drinks which are topped only by their sweet treat desserts.
Cupcakes, fresh/warm brownie sundaes, cheesecakes...it's all at your disposal and all wonderful. Jack has been our server several times and has always been an absolute pleasure.

No this is FALSE. It is not a plant restaurant anymore, look at their instagram post where they ANNOUNCED they will be adding non vegan items to the menu. Also before they even announced it they had put DAIRY in the matcha latte without telling anyone. The waitress let us know because she felt bad.

Read moreIt is in a fun location. Lots of outdoor seating, with heaters for the winter and a nice little open fire. The wine was perfect and the appetizers were delicious. I got the pot pie, which was fabulous. The texture and flavor were perfect, not too rich and very flavorful. My dinner companion got the Mac n cheese, which I also tried and was very impressed with how delicious it was as well. We had the Blueberry Swirl Cheesecake for dessert. It was also very flavorful, not too rich or sweet, just the right amount for both. Definitely a favorite spot and I can’t wait to go back soon!

Topping off the meal was the raw, almond-butter cheesecake, (2/3 of which ended up as takeout - I was so full!) accompanied by a soy Caramel macchiato. Yum!
Everything was divine, service was great, and the fact that they welcome doggies meant I had the pleasure of canine companionship while I soaked up some rays.
