Lovely, extremely friendly staff. Exceptionally nice food. I had to ask a few times because I thought I had heard wrong when we only had to pay 52RMB for 5 dishes. They say the dishes are small, but it’s still way too much for 2 people. Everything was delicious. The sesame balls for desert were stunning. We had started eating when I remembered to take photos. Also not pictured, the jiaozi, which were great, too. Highly recommended!

The ladies are really nice and if you don’t speak Chinese you’ll have to show them what you want from the big menu or show them a picture from here if you’re not sure.
Read moreThe dishes come in 3 sizes and the smallest isn’t a small portion, it’s a normal one.
It’s really cheap and delicious, and you’ll get that numbing experience from the Dan Dan noodles. The spicy Dan Dan noodles and the spicy wonton soup are so yummy but the non spicy version of the Dan Dan noodle is tasty as well if you can’t handle the other one.

Renown vegan spot - Edit
When dining at Su Shan Mian there were locals who could speak English. They advised us along with help communicate with the chef (speaks only Sichuanese) that this is a renown vegan spot in Chengdu. Despite its notoriety, it is incredibly cheap.

I really enjoyed my lunch at this place. It's really tasty, cheap and you can choose the size of your dishes to try many different things. The lady who rules the place is really nice too.
