Go to Stella Jeans right now!!! Their seasonal Midnight Pandan Pistachio is the best ice cream I've had in a long while since discovering (then burning out from) Coco Bomb.

The non-fruit options were a let down so I got the pineapple POG which was very flavorful but also just sorbet so not super exciting.
Read moreWent back and got the seasonal special Kinako choco crunch and the strawberry oat crumble. The special was ok but not super exciting, the strawberry one I liked better this time and it was nice and creamy. The waffle cone was great also.
Fall flavors came out today and I tried the apple butter and banana bread flavors. Both good but the apple butter just had an amazing pop of flavor.

Mango Sticky Rice Ice Cream!!! - Edit
I am obsessed with mango sticky rice and I was so excited when I heard there was a ice cream flavor and it was VEGAN!!! This shop is on a nice street where you could walk around while you eat your cone. The employees are really nice, and the shop was really cute and smells amazing!!! As for the ice cream I would of say it was really good but I didn't really taste the coconut rice flavor as much as I did the mango I wish it was more balanced but still very good. But their house made waffle cones are perfectly toasted & the best, can't wait to visit again and try some other flavors or maybe just 2-10 cones!!!

Mango Sticky Rice Ice Cream. - Edit
I have wanted to try this place since moving to San Diego, but today I happened to be nearby for work and decided to give it a try. I ordered the mango sticky rice ice cream, and my boyfriend got the strawberry oat crumble. Both were super delicious. The mango sticky rice flavor was perfect because the sweet cream mixed with the slightly more tart mango sorbet. The vegan cone was also a great surprise. If you’re in the area or craving some more unique flavors, definitely give this place a try!

When the staff realized I was only sampling the vegan flavors, they offered for me something not listed on the menu that was left over from the last seasonal menu. I ended up getting it in a waffle cone and it was really good (but too sweet, if I'm being honest!).

I don’t think I’ve had a flavor I didn’t like, but the peppermint bark seasonal they have as of writing is simply divine. Inventive flavors and really great texture and flavor on the ice cream.

One of my favorite places to get good quality vegan ice cream! It can be hard finding an ice cream place that offers more than 1-2 vegan options on their menu. And even harder to find one with vegan waffle cones. They make their cones in house and there's usually 4 vegan options and 2 of them change every month so it's fun to revisit and try out the new flavors. SO GOOD every time. Line moves quickly so don't fret if the line looks long.

What is better than mango sticky rice dessert? MANGO STICKY RICE ICE CREAM!!! They actually had 4 different vegan ice cream options when I went: banana chocolate hazelnut, lemon ice box pie, strawberry oat crumble (which I also tried and was sooo good!), and mango sticky rice. You can sample before you decide so try them all! Important to note that their flavors change seasonally so check out their social media to see what they have before you go!

I was just telling my husband that I hadn’t had pistachio ice cream since we became vegan. Then lo and behold we found Stella Jean’s. There are some vegan flavors that are always available like the Pistachio- Matcha, and others will only be available for a limited time like the Pineapple Upside Down Cake I had yesterday. Whatever flavor you choose, I don’t think you can go wrong here. And did I mention the vegan gluten-free waffle cones?

Read moreThe ice cream of choice that blew my mind was the matcha pistachio, the flavors just compliment each other so well. They’re even better in a waffle cone.
I’ve been back a few times since my first visit and tried a few of the other vegan options: mango sticky rice, strawberry oat crumble, all delicious of course, but the matcha pistachio is definitely my go to.
Definitely give this place a try, especially if you’re looking for vegan options along with gluten free options. I’ll keep coming back even if it’s out of my way from wherever I am in San Diego, they’re just that good.

One of the best Ice creams I’ve ever had and their waffle cones make it even better. Also love that they use real spoons for taste testing instead of plastic ones. Slightly expensive but can’t really complain because it’s great quality.
