Hidden gem with comfortable atmosphere. - Edit
The exterior of Stefano’s is very unassuming and we almost walked by before noticing “plant forward” on the door. Delicious vegan brunch or lunch spot, with great service and a comfortable atmosphere! I could easily see becoming a regular.

Tried the vegan chicken sandwich and tiramisu for delivery - Edit
solid plant-based comfort meal! 🌱🍰 The vegan chicken sandwich was flavorful and satisfying, though a bit standard, and the tiramisu was creamy, sweet, and a perfect ending, small portion though

Cute Diner - Edit
I ordered the eggs in purgatory with a side arugula salad. The eggs in purgatory also came with a side of bread. The tomato sauce was pretty good, but nothing really wowed me. I might come back to try more of their menu with my partner who likes Italian food.

Great casual spot - Edit
Stefano’s is the second restaurant from the same chef as Gia, and I think that the quality is just as good with menu items that are slightly more casual. I think the service here is incredible. There’s a lot on the menu that’s delicious. I think their sandwiches are really good and we also enjoyed many of their apps. Really delicious onion rings too.

Mostly Great - Edit
Stefano's is a fine vegan restaurant for a satisfying meal. We ordered two meals: a Chicken Parmigiana and Mushroom Bistecca. The Chicken Parm just fell flat. The pasta and sauce was serviceable, but the chicken was thin and tough. The Mushroom Bistecca was worth the order. The mushroom is moist and flavorful, and the sauce really lifts the dish up into something special. The Tiramisu was equally as impressive, using biscoff cookies instead of lady fingers, and dressed with a to-die-for cream. With all that being said, Stefano's mostly brings an exceptional experience and is worth the trip

Excellent Meal - Edit
With ordered a large array of appetizers to share and everyone agreed the entire meal was fantastic. Great staff and amazing food. We will definitely return. The only negative is the potential for having the direct sun in your face as

Great Casual Fare - Edit
Funky atmosphere, great staff, delicious food. The New School salmon was unreal. The meatballs had a uniquely crunchy exterior that I’ve been dreaming about. Great spot for lunch or a light supper.

Great spot for Italian food - Edit
Good food and service
Read moreWe tried
Meat balls and Arangini for appetizers
Then had lasagna and chick'n Parmesan for main
Cheese cake for dessert
Everything was good and fresh but could have used a bit more spices and herbs
We had to ask for chili oil to add some flavor to the food
Also the chick'n was good but a very thin piece like a cracker
Would like to try other food options
Pros: Good vegan food, Good service
Cons: Lack flavours, Could use more spices and herbs

Ah-mazing - Edit
This place is fantastic! The staff were warm and welcoming. The food was absolutely delicious. We ordered the mozzarella sticks, aranchini balls, and meatballs for apps. The meatballs had a great texture and were so flavorful, the mozz sticks were on point and the rice balls were very tasty. We all really liked the lasagna. My daughter liked her chicken Parm minus the sauce and cheese 😂. My husband had the mushroom steak which was very good. I absolutely LOVED the bib salad! We actually had all this for lunch then CAME BACK the same day for more lasagna and salad, it was that good! The staff again are amazing! Can't say enough about this place! It's so nice to have vegan food that not just comfort, fried food. This was so fresh and delicious!!

Dinner was perfect. Really cutting edge vegan food - Edit
Was really excited to come here after trying one of their sandwiches at VegTO fest, and was not disappointed! Everything we had was a winner, my top picks are the lasagna and olive oil cake.
Read moreI tried the “salmon” dish and was mindblown at how realistic it was! I’d been following NewSchool Foods (the supplier of the salmon cut) for a while and was sooo happy to finally see it available. It was fun to try once but it was so realistic it actually spooked me a bit. If you don’t know about New School I highly recommend giving them a look, they use really interesting tech to create their product.
Stefano’s seems very connected to the vegan community which is another huge plus. Their deli cuts are from Nonno’s in Hamilton, who are also amazing.

One and done for me - Edit
Pretty small portions for the price, definitely need more than one thing to fill you as a meal. Best thing I tried was the french toast. Would come back again for that. Would not get the fried chicken sandwich again, very dry. Breakfast sandwich was meh. Chocolate milk not good but was also served it room temp so probably better cold. Brussels were good. Clean place, nice big windows with lots of sun.

A Very Good Diner with good options, needing more. - Edit
Went there today for Brunch with lowered expectations (based on my experiences at Gia) but I was pleasantly surprised at how many choices turned into good ones I'll be returning for. Stefano's Diner came from Stefano's Sandwiches and now that they use Nonno's Meats, they can offer more Sandwich options outside of what they have. Their Breakfast Sandwich was good (after I asked for a slice of cheese and had them remove the arugula chili mayo and avocado). Their Eggs Benny was so-so, needing more tang in their Hollandaise Sauce. The Italian Sub had good meat (From Nonno's Deli but honestly, drive to Hamilton and go directly to their store for more sub choices) needing to be adjusted to the toppings I like. The Smash Burger was the best burger I've had (just ask for no caramelized onions and no Russian Dressing). Just amazing! Come back just for this. The Crispy Maitake Mushroom Sandwich was mushy and tasted bland. A "Featured Special" that just wasn't. The Mac and Cheese (without Breadcrumbs and Chives) was nice. It reminded me of Mathilda's from years ago when it was made so well. Their Dessert Menu had Gia's Olive Oil cake. I avoided that like the plague. A very nice expansion that I hope will also expand their sandwich and deli options with Nonno's meats. The staff were wonderful. I am coming back here.
Read morePros: Smash Burger - No Onions nor dressing. Add cheese., Mac And Cheese. No breadcrumbs nor chives., Breakfast Sandwich. No Avo/arugula/mayo. Add chees
Cons: Eggs Benny needs a better Hollandaise., Italian Sub needs more toppings like tomatoes. , Milkshakes if this is going to be a Diner.

This place rules - Edit
We feasted at Stefano's! Garlic knots, Eggs Benedict, and Italian Sub were all fantastic! Fried potatoes were extra crispy and delicious, and the mimosas were especially tasty, both the traditional and blood orange. The vegan meats on the sandwich were phenomenal, can't say I've had three types on a sandwich before that were all unique and excellent. The staff was super friendly, music was great, and the aesthetic of the place was charming. We just totally pigged out and had an awesome time. We're not from Toronto so will be missing this place hard until our next visit.

Amazing brunch spot! - Edit
Came here for a late brunch. We got the garlic knots, eggs benedict, and an Italian sub. Everything was amazing! The ham they use on the sandwich and on the eggs benedict was super flavorful. I also had a mimosa and my partner had a local beer. It’s great that they do brunch until 4pm and had so many things on the menu we’d definitely want to come back and try everything. The staff were super friendly and let us hang out for a while. It’s a bit pricey but totally worth it for the quality of the food and cozy atmosphere. One of the best all vegan spots we’ve been to in Toronto.

This place has potential - Edit
We went during the soft open, so they were working out many kinks. I had tried their sandwiches before at Gia’s and was always impressed. Everything we had here was just a 3/5 - the textures weren’t quite right and the taste wasn’t as good as it could have been, with the exception of the stellar Italian sub. I just don’t think the prices match what you get, especially during the soft open, but they’re too high for the quality. I would love to see this place succeed, I’m looking forward to returning when they’ve opened fully and will update my review then. The staff are incredible! I hope they bring back the fried chicken and the fish sandwich.
