Mindblowing - Edit
I'm simultaneously so glad we got to go to this place in Edinburgh and also disappointed we won't have time to go again, because it was amazing. Mainly because of the smoked "ribs" I got that was so much closer to an actual pork-like texture than anything else I'd ever eaten - like not even on the same level. Felt like I had time travelled to the future, or maybe the past before I was veg at all! We also got the ravioli (very tasty) and the tiramisu for dessert (heavenly). Would have loved to come back to try something else, but alas, I'll wait for the restaurants back home to catch up.

Top notch - Edit
I went here twice in the span of ten days. The first time I went I got their charcuterie board. It was amazing. The second time was for my graduation, and they had a buffet. It was great, since you could try their different pasta dishes and side dishes. Their prices are a little bit steep, however, they offer dishes you would not be able to find anywhere else veganised, so I think it's worth it.

Amazing antipasti platter - Edit
We visited here twice during our stay in Edinburgh. The antipasti platter we had on our first night there was such a fun experience. We had never seen anything like that! The nduja ravioli was a true comfort food, and we really enjoyed the week's special with a "fish" fillet, the best fish alternative we've had! Only thing we were missing were non-alcoholic wine options, they would have been perfect with the pasta dishes. The spicy margarita mocktail we tried was VERY spicy. The service was quite slow even though there were only few customers, but we really enjoyed the food.

Vegan Italian Cuisine - Edit
Sora Diana is a true gem in Edinburgh’s dining scene, offering an exquisite vegan take on classic Italian cuisine. Every dish is crafted with remarkable attention to flavor and presentation, showcasing the depth and warmth of plant-based ingredients without compromise. The atmosphere is refined yet welcoming, and the service is attentive in the most genuine way. A visit to Sora Diana is not merely a meal — it’s an experience that celebrates both elegance and compassion.

Mezze maniche alla Carbonara
Smokey *bacon lardons in a creamy carbonara sauce.
This dish was heavy, but absolutely complete.
I would preference it coming at a main
Porchetta e Patate
Crispy strands of *porchetta with rosemary baked potato chunks, *mozzarella and signature house made stracciatella cheese
Wow again, not a traditional pizza but damn it was delicious. The *porchetta had a smokey intensity that balanced the creamy garlic mozzarella base.
The house made tasted closer to a sour cream, but that said it fit perfectly into the balance of the dish.
The champagne bouche et fils worked wonders here, cutting through the creamy and salty intensity of the pizza bread.
I wish I had room for dessert.
The service was wonderful and attentive. The bartender really knew her stuff as I watched her smash out a seemingly endless stream of cocktails. The other server on the floor was busy all night, effectively attending to guests in an appropriate Time.
Yea 16 800km is a little excessive a voyage, but Sora Dianna was worth the distance.
Amaro del capo as a digestive, I couldn't resist.
Pros: 100% vegan, Vegan carbonara, Vegan champagne

Decent spot - Edit
The pasta I had was amazing. The salad I had was a little underwhelming. The food was slow in coming out from the kitchen but worth the wait. Oddly, the bench was unlevel and so it was difficult to get comfortable.

Nice selection of dishes - Edit
Visited here for dinner. There is a lovely selection of dishes and drinks.
Read moreWe had the bolognaise balls and mushroom thing to start. We weren’t expecting it to have street food vibes. If we’d known what the starters would be like we probably wouldn’t have ordered, although it was nice, just not the vibe we were hoping for. We wouldn’t order those starters again.
The mains were delicious. We had a carbonara and the tomato bacon pasta. The homemade bacon was excellent. Would love to try more of their dishes.
The tiramisu espresso martini was delicious.
Overall, a great little restaurant and would recommend. Staff were lovely. Just felt slightly let down by the starters and overall was an expensive meal at £87 for two starters, 2 mains and 2 drinks. Would visit again.
Pros: Delicious pasta , Allergens clearly labelled

Food after the Animal Rights March in Edinburgh - Edit
I had the fish special, it was really good, and so were the homemade fries, great service too. I will be back again in future, we didn’t get a dessert, because fortunately ‘considerit’ which is a vegan bakery is only a stone throw away from this restaurant, so we bought a box of cakes from there to take home. Unfortunately we don’t live in Edinburgh, but we travelled from our hometown to attend the Animal Rights March on Saturday the 20th of September which was arranged by Earthling World (put it in your diary for next year) 🌱🙌 ✊

Insane prices, poor service, average taste - Edit
Overall extremely disappointed with our visit.
Read moreWe were the only guests when we arrived, staff did not even greet us and took a couple of minutes until someone came to our table with the menu.
Had 2 pasta dishes which were both okay, but definitely not worth the asking price.
They then have the audacity to add a 12.5% service charge on top which means we paid 50 GBP for some okay pasta and a drink, with terrible service.

Mixed Reviews - Edit
Three of us dined here in April when it was still Sora Lalla Vegan Roman. Mixed reviews on everyone’s meals although I would still recommend that if you are looking for a fully vegan restaurant, that you check this place out. Dairy eaters in our party missed having the full flavour range of real cream and cheese, but the vegan was more than satisfied. Dessert was fantastic as was the service on an incredibly busy night

Nothing special - Edit
Had high hopes for this place, sadly it didn't deliver. Paid £26 for a pizza that had the texture of a slipper topped with the cheapest coconut style cheese. I'd give 3 stars if it cost me £40 and not £110. If you're in town and want good vegan Italian go for Novapizza instead.

I’m in Edinburgh (Scotland) for work and, having done my usual research upfront, I had booked at this lovely fully vegan Italian restaurant, Sora Diana - The Vegan Sora is their Facebook page - which was highly rated and strongly recommended ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I ordered mezze maniche alla carbonara and grigliata mista di carne con patate arrosto (carbonara pasta and mix grill of different meats with roast potatoes) 🍝🍢🍖🍡🥔
Doggy bag needed btw, as it was all absurdly delicious, but also very generous in terms of portions, I was stuffed!!! 😄
Special mention to Eli, the most attentive waitress ever!!! 🫶🏼

Nice vegan restaurant - Edit
It was a nice experience to try a vegan Italian restaurant while visiting Edinburgh. I had the carbonara which was very good. My partner had ravioli, which was also very good. For dessert, we had a trio of little tarts - I especially like the pistachio, and tiramisu, which was nice, but had too much cocoa on top - it was a bit more than a light dusting. I would recommend this restaurant - and will happily visit again if I am in Edinburgh.

I had the nduja ravioli and tiramisu. It’s not cheap but it’s good quality. It’s worth ordering a side of bread with the pasta so you don’t waste any sauce.

Incredibly Good - Edit
Read moreStumbling upon this vegan Italian gem was the best kind of accident! We honestly couldn’t believe everything on the menu was vegan — from “homemade” sausage and blue cheese to pasta with melty “mozzarella.” It’s been ages since we’ve had such a feast. And the tiramisu? Let’s just say it’s moving into my dreams and probably refusing to leave 😋 Absolutely, wholeheartedly recommended 🥳

Nothing special, unfortunately not worth the money - Edit
Tried the "unlimited" pasta and although it was a fun experience, it's not worth the time or money. The £35 seemed fair due to the cost of their pasta, but now after having it, I think most people could make better pasta at home. I had thought perhaps they make the pasta fresh, but it's just dried stuff they use, so don't know where the cost is coming from. The starter was nice and came relatively quickly, but we didn't get our first pasta until having been in the restaurant for 1.5 hours and it was cold. From then on, it was a struggle to get anymore pasta. Most were not warm and the sauce was congealed. Ended up trying 5 and would have wanted more, but we had then been there 3 hours. Wouldn't recommend the courgette, carbonara, or the olive. The gnocchi and Bolognese were ok but definitely something that could be done at home. A shame as Edinburgh could do with more decent mid range vegan restaurants that don't just do junk food.

You won’t believe it’s vegan - Edit
Sora Diana was a birthday treat from my partner and after just finishing our meal we want to come back! We had the supplì and bread w/ butter to start (butter was unbelievable) and the truffle sausage gnocchi and caccio e pepe spaghettoni for mains. It was so delicious, and we don’t understand how they made the food, it was scarily good (doubted the veganness)! We also had the tiramisu and tiramisu espresso martini, so delicious and could fool anyone!

Out of this world food! - Edit
Ate here last night and the food was stunning. We started with the rice balls and the funghi, both absolutely blew us away including the non vegan who was with us. We followed up with Roman Pizzas, both amazing but the porchetta and rosemary roasted potatoes were the star of the show, the porchetta tasted like real meat!!!! My wife had the ravioli with nduja and cream cheese and I can honestly say I have never tasted pasta so good before!

The food is so delicious and the pizza was huge! Service is the best, very attentive! Unfortunately very expensive, especially the pasta for what it is! Might get crowded at peak hour. I wanted to try the tiramisu, but I was full and the prices were shocking.😅
