Historic Gujarati thali eatery with an all-you-can-eat concept. Senior staff are vegan aware - ask them to point out vegan choices. Thali choice changes on a rotational basis, but always has several vegan options. Open Mon-Sun 11:30am-3:30pm, Tue-Sun 7:00pm-10:30pm.

Very accommodating staff, clean space, homely food

Sree Thaker Bhojnalay has one of the most iconic thalis in Mumbai. Thali is a concept of serving food in a large plate, with multiple components including farsan (fried snacks), salads, chutneys, dessert etc in small portions. You can ask for as much as you like.

Everyone from Diplo, to Nigella Lawson and local chef's/ celebrities have dined here. Not that celebs opinions hold more value, but that it's famous enough of a restaurant that they have visited it.

Before reaching, I called to inquire about dairy-free options, and the man on the phone said "Yes, vegan, I know." That set the tone for the evening, with attentive staff ensuring I only get served dairy free options, to the point of one main manager standing near me, instructing all the servers what I can and cannot be served. They even went to the extent of getting fresh rotis made, without ghee.

I was worried I wouldn't have many options, since Gujarati cuisine has many yoghurt and ghee based dishes, but I was pleasantly surprised with options.

The food was home-style, unlimited, and service attentive and accommodating. My house food is very similar to this, so nothing out of the ordinary for me (hence the lower rating).
But, it's a great place for tourists to sample multiple indian dishes at once, and experience homestyle cooked food.

NOTE: Please ensure you inform the senior staff about your dietary preferences. The menus are released via their instagram, so do take a look beforehand.
