Options!

I was excited to try this place. I got the cornbread biscuit sandwich (beyond meat and just egg), hubby got the biscuits & gravy and we got several options of pastries. My Lavender Lemon Cupcake was scrumptious!!! Could’ve ate 7 more but the line stays steady with customers. My breakfast sandwich was a hard fail. It was so dry and there were no condiments offered in the place which was a bummer. They accidentally forgot our biscuits and gravy which I asked about 15-20 min after we ordered as again they’re so busy I wasn’t sure if my order was up yet. The sticky bun was alright and the rest was decent. Great options tho.

Pros: Lavender Lemon Cupcake , Several options

Cons: Very busy, Not that clean , No parking

Everything here is delicious.

Five stars without a doubt. Everything is delicious at Shoofly and their cafe is super cozy. My personal favorite items are the enormous vegan cinnamon rolls and their cookies. I legit dream about the cookies.

Pros: Baked goods always fresh, Good sweet AND savory options , Lots of bike parking and close to transit

Sweet & Savory

We (my wife and I, not the royal we) usually get something sweet and savory when we visit (plus a few things to bring home), and it has all been delicious.

Pros: Tarts, cookies, cinnamon rolls, Hand pies, quiches, biscuits & gravy

Cons: Not open 24/7

Excellent baked goods and lattes

Wow! Their baked goods are excellent! We had a blackberry scone and a strawberry cheesecake danish with two soy lattes. The pastries were amazing, and the coffees were great. On a later day, at Jet Black Coffee, we had a Shoofly cinnamon roll and a Shoofly berry muffin, both also outstanding. The Shoofly cafe was spacious and charming and also had some sidewalk tables where we sat with our dog. The restroom was upstairs and seemed to be shared with other businesses, but it was nice and clean. The people working there were nice and friendly and gave us helpful recommendations. Can't wait to try more of their delicious stuff.

Pros: Excellent baked goods, Spacious cafe, Friendly staff

I love pastries from this place

You won’t even know these goodies are free of all animal products. So delicious! But go early to make sure you get the vegan cinnamon rolls of your dreams. 🥰

Favorite vegan bakery in town

Shoofly is fantastic. Everything they have is splendid. I love popping in and grabbing a cinnamon roll and a hand pie for snacking later in the day. Staff is relatively friendly for the most part and I always receive fast service.

Pros: All vegan baked goods, Really amazing taste

Cons: Expensive

The crust

I recommend anything with a crust, every type of scone, and their biscuits. Try the soup when it’s offered; consistently light and delicious—a great pairing with a savory pastry or salad. Some interesting textures with a few of the sweet pastries, however the flavors are all wonderful. Highly recommended.

Great birthday cakes!

Ordered a smores birthday cake for my partner last year and it was spectacular. Delicious, fairly priced, nicely decorated, and quick turnaround time. I also love their cookies which can be found at random local stores throughout Portland.

One of the best vegan bakeries anywhere!!

Maybe I'm partially swayed by the unique Pennsylvania theming
, but the quality here is beyond measure. The apple cake, Philly cake (like a peanut butter Tastykake), and savory hand pie were all phenomenal. Taste, texture, all fantastic!! I'd say it rivals Vegan Treats in Bethlehem. Get here when you're in Portland!

Amazing baked goods!

The baked goods at this place are insanely good! Most of my favorite coffee shops carry their baked goods and I was so excited when they opened their own location. We go here almost every week.

Lots to like

First time here, so I tried one sweet pastry (s'more cookie), one savory (pesto scone), and biscuits and gravy, plus an Americano.

The biscuits and gravy were great, pleasantly salty with recognizable bits of mushroom and fresh green onion in top.

The s'more was lovely to look at, but didn't do much for me; I think too much "graham cracker" and not enough marshmallow/chocolate. Might do well as a small bite or a flatter cookie.

The scone was nice, particularly the pleasant tart bite from the tofu-based "cheese".

The pies and quiche looked really, really delicious, so I look forward to trying these on a return visit.

The coffee was really good, too...not always a given :)

Really nice staff (x2), especially as it was so near closing time.

Pros: Nice atmosphere, Friendly staff, Good selection

Best cinnamon rolls in town

Cute little place that has been supplying cafes and stuff in Portland for a long time. Now they have a brick-and-mortar and they have amazing cinnamon rolls and strombolis. They do a lot of muffins and scones and stuff. I hope they do croissants and that sort of pastry at some point, too!

Pros: Amazing cinnamon rolls

Cons: Could use a bit more variety

Yumminess

We’ve been taste testing treats from Shoofly sold at a variety of locations for awhile now. First time at the storefront did not disappoint. Though already sold out of sticky buns this morning, we found plenty to satisfy our sweet tooth’s.

best bakery in Portland

I've been a huge shoofly fan for years and was beyond excited when they announced their cafe was opening! I've been 3 times and every time, the stuff has been excellent! Last time, I got the cheddar, sausage, basil scone and it was so so so good, crispy on the outside, tender on the inside.
Can't wait for their indoor seating to open, limited seating on the outside.
Tip: grab a treat and walk down to the waterfront & across the Tillikum bridge- nice way to spend a morning with great views of Portland waterfront.

The owner has been working the counter every time I've been in and they are so sweet & friendly. Last time, I asked another counter person for the bathroom code and they gave me the look of death for interrupting their espresso pulling lol (code is on front cash register, just FYI)

Pros: all vegan, delicious

Cons: no indoor seating at the moment

Fly in before they sell out!

I've been buying their baked goods for years at other businesses, so I'm glad they finally have their own storefront. Everything is delicious, but my favorite is the Phillykake. I've also ordered multiple whole cakes from them.

Pros: all vegan

Amazing Treats!

We found them at the Farmer's market in St. John and everything was amazing! We got a cinnamon roll, apple cake, tiramisu cupcake, and a chocolate chip cookie! I would highly recommend trying some of their sweets.
