Serves meat, vegan options available. Szechuan cuisine. Menu has vegan items including 3 veggie chicken dishes and several tofu and vegetable entrees. Open Mon-Thu 11:00am-9:30pm, Fri-Sat 11:00am-10:30pm, Sun 11:00am-9:30pm.
There’s a veggie section on the menu with a soy chicken option. Our server wasn’t too familiar with veganism but she was able to find someone who could help ensure we got the correct protein. Flavorful dishes with a nice presentation.
I had Szechuan, eggplant, egg foo yong with Shih Tzu, peppers, garlic pot, eggplant, and tofu, crispy chicken. We also started with a cabbage, tofu soup that was outstanding. All the food is very good, large portions, and cheerfully serves.
I’ve been visiting Bethlehem for more than 50 years and for a long time it was the type of town where finding a vegetable was a challenge. Enter Shang Wei which I’ve now dined at a half dozen times. It offers authentic Szechuan cuisine with lots of vegan options. The dishes are well-spiced but won’t burn your face of. I’ve tried the mock chicken, mapo tofu, scallion pancakes, spring rolls, and a number of the vegetable dishes. And the service has been consistently efficient.
