Well versed in what this superb local chain has to offer, I knew that as soon as I espied this particular branch that I wouldn’t be able to resist at least getting one dough-based delicacy, and so it proved.
Read moreHaving happily folded like a cheap table in terms of willpower, I was game for something more substantial and rather hoping to grab one of their excellent ratatouille sandwiches, but alas, there were none to be had. Undeterred, I opted for a couple of other tried and tested favourites and hoped they would stack up to previous interactions. Of course, they did.
The focaccia had a perfectly chewy exterior and a soft, sumptuous centre and the pops of saltiness from the olives embedded within combined to make a wonderful snack.
This having whet my appetite, so eager was I to crack into the pumpkin seed roll that I committed the cardinal sin of not getting a carefully curated photo of it! However, pictorial evidence or not, it was an excellent roll that carried more than enough interest to be enjoyed on its own without the aid of oils or spreads. The flavour of the seeds themselves was evident in every bite, ably supported by the salty sesame seeds that all played wonderfully with the rich, nutty, forgiving bread.
Very much a case of consistent excellence; none of what I had here gave me any reason not to return, nor to not repeat the experience whenever I happen upon any of their other stores.
