De gerechten waren heerlijk en groot. De drankjes waren heel lekker Ook de inrichting was leuk, door de vele planten en er stond zelfs een boom binnen. Ook de bediening was aardig. Zelf vond ik het jammer dat het menu online was en niet van papier. Ook de sfeer was niet heel bijzonder en een beetje saai.

Read moreI enjoyed the linguine veggie bolognese, vegan chilli topped with avocado and cashew cream, hummus garnished with pomegranate and mint, avocado with cashew cheese, and cauliflower served with baked potatoes.
I also tried the carrot cake as well as the lemonade with pineapple and basil.
Everything was absolutely delicious, and I strongly suggest you check this place out!

Super nice people, they gave me a soy vanilla milk as a gift
the food was good, but some things for example the chilli was really basic and not super tasty, nothing compared to the regular chilli (big chunks of tomato inside that should have been a sauce). Also, the cashew sour cream tasted weird
The artichoke pastas were great, as well as the noodles
Burger was a bit heavy!

We had the dumplings, lentil soup, sweet potato quinoa salad, baked cauliflower, and vegan burger. They were all nice and yummy.
Read moreIf I could change anything, it would be the excessive oil added to the cauliflower dish, and the burger would've been nice with chips added. I also hope to see more vegan options and less vegetarian in the future.
However, would still recommend this place. Beautiful building and you can sit next to the water in summer, superb!

Read morefor starters i had the vegan eggplant salad which came right out the fridge and was too cold for enjoying it properly. the bread served with it was a bit dry. had the poke bowl afterwards which was way to basic. the pickled radish was good, rice was overcooked, tofu unseasoned.
i think they could easily step up their food game with a few minor tweaks.

One of the rare spots with vegan options - Edit
The restaurant is located close to the city centre with a big terrace, which is especially refreshing during summer. The personnel is very talkative but still friendly with almost no waiting time. The restaurant is vegetarian, but with many vegan options. I can highly recommend to try their vegan burgers, which are a bit more pricy than the average in Romania, but its definitively worth it.

Para suerte la mía. Muchos días recorriendo Rumanía y, sobre todo, disfrutando de su gastronomía local, como la zacuscă o la mămăligă. Sin embargo, no sabía yo que mi sorpresa estaba al final del camino. Llegué al último punto de mi recorrido que era Cluj-Napoca (la que ya considero la capital del steampunk) con pocas expectativas que después de visitar la ciudad y hacer un alto en Samsara sufrí un revés.
Read moreLo primero que llama la atención del restaurante es el mimo con el que han construido un concepto alrededor de los «alimentos de La Tierra» (Earth food): trasladan la alta cocina al disfrute sosegado y a la contemplación de la naturaleza misma. Revisé la carta para darme cuenta, por desgracia, que necesitaría varias visitas si quería disfrutar todo lo que Samsara me ofrecía en ese momento.
Entre el buen ambiente de la terraza escuchaba el agua del río pasar, gozé del magnífico foie gras vegano de anacardos que abrió mi apetito. Seguí compartiendo la berenjena caremilazada con granadas y acompañadas de arroz además del hacer lo propio con el curry de coco y jackfruit. Si os soy sincero, estaba tan a gusto que no quería irme de allí: alargué la velada con un café y una fantástica tarta de zanahoria.
Sobresale de este restaurante el ambiente relajado y una atención del personal que ralla lo sensacional. Además, toda su carta está perfectamente señalizada con los platos que son crudiveganos, veganos o vegetarianos. Me dejó el sabor de una experiencia extraordinaria, que de volver a Cluj-Napoca, no dudaría en repetir.

Samsara is a fully vegetarian restaurant with vegan options. They offer a continental cusine. Everything tasted really good and the ambience of the place was fantastic. Highly recommend visiting this place!

The restaurant is really beautiful (pretty fancy actually)and the staff was really kind as well. We came as a group and they joined tables for us to sit together (something that apparently they don't like very much around here).

The dishes on the other hand were amazing. I tried a bit of the whole wheat pasta, the fried rice, the lasagna, the curries and they spotless. You cannot go wrong with any of them.
For deserts I had the raw cake and it was amazing. Some others had the chocolate bar but said it was good but too heavy so consider sharing.
The only thing not so nice was that in the end, they kinda push you into tiping. We always tip when we like the service, but we don't like to be forced into tiping, much less a specific minimum ammount. But maybe it is cultural in Romania..I don't know...

I ordered cauliflower "fillet" thinking of having a cauliflower based fillet, but instead of that I got just a cauliflower. It was tasty, but nothing I couldn't have at home in terms of flavour. Of course, not in terms of preparation. I don't want to be disrespectful. So tasty, but nothing spectacular. Dessert was better!
Maitre and staff were very friendly.
Prices are always decent in Romania if you are coming from Spain or more expensive countries.

So the restaurant is vegetarian but, they have many vegan options and were labeled correctly. This is already a plus points for them (except for passionfruit martini with pasteurized egg white).
Read moreWe chose the outdoor seating. We arrived an hour earlier than our reserved time but, there was no issue to have us seated as right away. The staff were friendly and accommodating too.
We ordered lentil cream soup, avocado salad, dumplings, simple burger, raw avocado, carrot cake, tepache margarita and beer.
The tepache margarita was yummy and so as the carrot cake 😄
Extra: The “bland” comments from others may be true but, if you’re vegan for the animals, it should not matter.

Uninspiring Linguine veggie bolognese - Edit
I can't speak for the other dishes, but the veggie bolognese mainly tasted of tomato-carrot sauce, it really lacked both umami and a bit of texture. Furthermore the menu was outdated pricewise so they charged more than shown in the menu. Otherwise a nice outdoor seating environment, and a friendly staff, so might be good for a drink, or maybe another dish would be better.

Doesn’t live up to the hype - Edit
I’m always excited to try an all-veg restaurant, even though other review sites had many complaints about wait time & service. I came in for lunch today without a reservation. The hostess said she had a table available in the smoking section. I asked if non-smoking would be feasible & she said as long as I finished in just over an hour when the table was reserved. I replied I could eat that fast as long as the service allowed it. My server took several minutes to come over, and I couldn’t look at the English menu until then. He then took several more minutes to return for my order. I explained that the table was reserved at the specific time that I was told, and he said an appetizer and a main course should be no problem in that time frame. I ordered the pumpkin boulette with horseradish sauce. I then tried to order the jackfruit curry but he said it wasn’t available so I ordered the veggie bolognese pasta. I also ordered a cherry lemonade. The lemonade took several minutes but was very good. The starter took several more and the dish’s taste was completely dominated by the horseradish sauce. It then took several more minutes for my plate to be cleared, and several more for the bolognese to arrive. It was blander than the pasta sauce I make at home. I sincerely have no idea why it was even called bolognese as it just tasted like a bland marinara. But most importantly, it had taken so long to arrive I couldn’t finish eating it before I had to vacate the table. The server (who had barely stopped by) tried to insist there was “no rush” for me to leave the table when I asked for the bill despite what the hostess had specifically told me, which I guess explains his cavalier attitude about my service. The server responsible for the next section walked by my table a dozen times for every time my own server stopped to check on me.

Tried the caramelized eggplant (new addition on the menu) and the coconut and jackfruit curry and they were very tasty. Also had a white wine and lemonade and they were amazing. The raw berries and vanilla cake was delicious.
