Gross - Edit
Why are all Colombian vegan restaurants the same gross, flavorless (only salt used), and unimaginative food? They simply serve typical Colombian and remove the meat typically included and call it a meal. Every comment focuses on the price. I prefer to pay higher prices for good quality food.

Unless you're on the coast, ain't no spice at any restaurante.

Actually, this isn't the case. There are restaurants that use some spices and better flavor. You just have to look for them.

Interesting that you would give a one-star rating to a restaurant where all the tables are taken by 12:00 noon and there's a line out the door. This place has been here for over 10 years so they must be doing something right.

It is my opinion. If you want to judge it and argue with me, that is your right. It doesn't mean that my opinion is wrong.

I didn't say you were wrong. You are absolutely entitled to your opinion. My opinion is that when you give a place a one-star rating that means it's among the worst. I also noticed that you cut and pasted that same review and placed it in several restaurants in the Medellin area, without any further elaboration as to what you ate that day and what was wrong with it. Do you think that's a fair way to treat these restaurants who are struggling to stay in business? Do you honestly believe that these restaurants you reviewed are worst in class?

Maynard: I am not sure of your position of self-appointed review criticizer and police, but maybe you can learn to accept other people don't think like you or have preferences like you. I see that your favorite foods are fast food. Mine are not. I enjoy cuisines all around the world and do a fair amount of cooking. Fast food is not one of my favorites.
Read moreIndeed, SaludPan is gross. If Colombia food is your preference, well good luck to you. Most of the vegan and vegetarian restaurants in Medellín are very bad, as most simply make a hodge podge of salty and otherwise flavorless mush. I have written reviews for restaurants in Medellín that are positive. Simply because it doesn't line up with your expectations, you don't have to annoy and pester me on Happy Cow.
You may camp out at restaurants at times to quantify and qualify their crowds at 12.00 pm in order to decide which restaurants are best. I don't. I eat the food. I share comments with people so I can advise them to enjoy the higher quality restaurants and avoid the gross ones. Maybe you have another goal for yourself in advertising for restaurants in the area.
Simply because a restaurant exists for 10 years doesn't mean that they do anything right or wrong. It means they have been in business for 10 years. There are many restaurants that survive in Colombia for many years without being successful. It is pretty cheap to maintain a restaurant in Medellín without any revenue. We see it here all of the time, but perhaps your short vacation to Medellín didn't allow you to understand the business environment here.
I gave this restaurant a one-star rating because it is some of the worst food I have experienced. I sincerely regret wasting my few paltry pesos here. My wife and I ate here, did not enjoy the food, and felt sick afterward. No cutting and pasting -- just my honest review. I don't need to elaborate to satisfy you. It is a fair review. The food is horrible. Learn to accept.

Very recommended!!!! - Edit
The menu del dia was fabulous (falafel with hummus and salad and Baba ghanush and quinoa and seeds avocado). It was only 16.000 pesos and included a drink. We also really enjoyed the vegan empanadas!!! If you are near by make sure you come here. The people are super friendly. We also really liked the bathrooms😄

Not Vegan but Vegan Options - Edit
They have a raw vegan menu of the day and a vegetarian option. I always ask if the option is vegan, and they always say yes. I just found out today that the albóndigas that often come with the veggie lunch (and I’ve been assured are vegan) aren’t. I bought a pack to go, and when I got home realized they have egg. Needless to say, I’m super gutted and don’t think I can return. I just feel deceived and makes me wonder what other dishes aren’t vegan. I gave them 3 stars because the staff is nice.

It`s one of my favorite restaurants in Medellín. They always offer a vegan menu of the day with soup, main dish and small desert. unfortunately the desert not always is vegan. But they always have vegan tortes and cakes which are delicious. They are just not included in the menu of the day. I also appreciate the store with a lot of vegan food and cosmetic products

Casi perfecto - Edit

The food is really good. The menu of the day is very complete and the portion size is good. They sell a lot of breads and sweets, also a great selección is vegan cold cuts. The ambience is really nice specially the patio on a nice sunny day. Overall my experience was great and I will go back very soon. They should also go fully vegan ;)

Fantastic veggie menu of the day in a really cool spot! - Edit
They have a specific vegetarian menu of the day for 10.500, which is fantastic and super filling and changes daily. There is nice outdoor seating and the staff are super friendly (mostly). We've heard the veggie burger is great too, but can't get past the menu. We were a bit disappointed with their breakfast though. Coffee is decent.

peaceful cafe atmosphere, high quality products - Edit
Both a predominantly vegetarian restaurant as well as a small organic foods market. Located near to "La 70," an active street in the Laureles neighborhood filled with bars and hotels, it's a great respite from the city that reminds me a bit of NYC village cafe. It is aimed at a more mid-upper class clientele than spots in the center, so prices are slightly higher.
Read moreThey have a fixed meal which often includes quinoa, amaranth, and other good grains, and also offer several juices and vegan deserts. They carry the vegan ice cream line found in Vegetus. Although they seem to be over 90% veg, with emphasis on macrobiotic, there are a few meat dishes available.
Great if you are staying in the Laureles/Estadio area, also worth a visit to check out the area and stock up on goods.
Pros: nice atmosphere, high quality products
Cons: not open late, serves meat
