They have a variety of delicious vegan flavors! They do not use dedicated scoopers for vegan options but if you are worried about cross-contamination, you can ask for an “allergy scoop” and they will get you a serving with a clean scooper from a separate container.

I completely forgot to leave a review, but growing up near Seattle and Portland I have had Salt & Straw many times. This location I have been to the most. Salt & Straw always has vegan options, and I appreciate that they recognize (or at least they used to, not sure now) vegan January. The ice cream is good, but every flavor I have had has been really sweet. I once went with my non veg friends and they didn’t really like the vegan or non vegan flavors all that much, to the point they didn’t order anything. However, I have always liked the flavors I’ve picked enough to not only buy it but eat it all too!

They had a few vegan options and could definitely use more, but the flavors they do have are creative. I ordered a ginger ice cream, and my partner ordered a camping-themed one that had barbecue sauce and beans. Yes, you read that right: beans and barbecue sauce. Somehow they made bean ice cream taste delicious 🤷🏻♀️

I think they had pistachio when I was there, which is a favorite. Their waffle cones are also vegan so that was a plus.

Sample as many vegan flavors as you like. They have regular vegan flavors and special temporary vegan flavors. They have vegan hot fudge which isn't on the menu.

There were several vegan flavors on the menu for veganuary. I had the toasted oat milk and cookies. The big chocolate chunks were a little much but the ice cream was great.

Normal menu has 2 vegan options which are very good, mint chip and a chocolate cookie thing. Sometimes the ice cream is icey, curious given how they are famous and a lot of store bought stuff is creamier.

Creative flavors - Edit
They have really creative rotating flavors, two to three are typically vegan. Scoops are a bit pricey, but in line with other artisan frozen desserts in the Seattle area. I've been there three times and find their textures and actual taste don't live up to expectations, though.

The line is usually long but it's worth it. There are lots of people working there so they separate to help groups in line so the process is smooth and fast. You can try many flavors, which is great! I chose roasted strawberry coconut and strawberry honey balsamic with black pepper scoops. They have an option of a split scoop, which was perfect because I got two mini scoops of the flavors instead of two huge ones and paid less as well. Definitely recommend going there!

Literally Every Vegan Flavor Is Delicious - Edit
Sometimes vegan ice cream places can be hit or miss. Every one of these flavors is incredibly delicious, and there is a good amount of variety for only 3-4 flavors usually. My favorite is probably the ginger beer, which I did not expect to enjoy (as I hate sorbet) but it is not at all like a sorbet, it's super creamy and rich but also zingy and refreshing. The more traditional flavors, like mint chip and red velvet, are also great. Right now they are having a Vegandulgence celebration with five different new flavors alongside the 2 perennial flavors and committing to 20% of flavors being vegan from now on, so we can expect an expansion, too. January is a weird time to be excited about ice cream but it's some of the best I've ever tasted and if you haven't tried it, I really recommend it. I don't remember what the cone situation is because I tend to go for cups.
