unique, confusing spot

First of all, this place is in a strange location. If you arrive at the address listed, you'll see a few different shops with that same number (!), and a big entrance to a parking garage. That's actually where you need to go; any of the parking attendants will direct you up three floors and to the squat-type area where the restaurant is located, which also has some other independent bars and restaurants, and features some pretty popular techno, hip hop, and psych parties on the weekends.

Also, the restaurant basically has two names... Salada Saludavel is the "morning" name, and Shivaya is the aft/evening: https://www.facebook.com/ShivayaBarLanchonete

I was only able to eat there once as the owner was closing for renovations in April, but they should be open again in May. The food I got was possibly one of the best plates I've had in the city... it took 20 minutes but it was a thoughtfully prepared, mostly raw feast including steamed jaca seeds which were delicious, and some vegan cheese he'd made.

Worth checking out and supporting, possibly going when they have music (the Sunday I was there, lots of bands were playing on the central stage area). Don't be turned off by the slightly sketchy location or exterior, head in and go up.

Pros: scrumptious, independent, small, unique spot

Cons: hard to find, confusing hours/menu/situation
