Not as good as it used to be - Edit
Had I had happy cow when I started visiting, this would have easily been 5 stars but it’s just not what it used to be. The coffee is lovely and some of the best in Glasgow but the food has gone downhill. There are lots of options which is great but the portions aren’t quite enough and the square sausage is quite bland. Also quite pricey for what you get but they do offer a student discount.

Cons: Small portions, Food not the best anymore, Pricey

Great and cheap - Edit
They have a full vegan menu (more choice than many all-vegan cafes) and very good food for reasonable prices, given that they are right in Merchant city.

Great for a light bite ! - Edit
Great little cafe, food was delicious. I had the VLT and soup of the day which was sweet potato and carrot, service was fast and friendly ! Definitely going back. Oh and the hot chocolate with oat milk was hands down the best I have had in years .

AMazing food. - Edit
My favourite place to go with my mum - they have a separate vegan menu and loads of options to appeal to anyone. Also they usually have a peanut butter vegan brownie too - best brownie I've ever eaten and buy it every time I visit.

great food - Edit
As a vegan I really enjoyed most of what I had here - the French toast in particular was great, and the roll was good. The croissant was alright but not as good as in Picnic or the Cran.
Read moreI didn't really enjoy the pie - it was dry and poorly heated. The ice cream (raspberry) ripple was fantastic.
Nice staff, nice atmosphere, good coffee

Vegan Haggis Pie! Oh my! - Edit
We had the vegan haggis pie with baked beans and a soymilk hot chocolate. The pie was really lovely, very tasty and delicious, topped with mashed potato. yummy!

Overrated vegan breakfast - Edit
I thought I'd check out Rose & Grants full vegan breakfast because I'd heard a lot about it.
Read moreFirst of all, to call it a 'full' breakfast is going a bit far. It's a potato scone, some beans in a cup, a few mushroom, 4 small tomatoes, a slice of toast (!) and their vegan square sausage.
I was massively underwhelmed by all of the above and I thought the square sausage tasted much like a normal vegan sausage, so nothing special. Overall, very average and not very creative.
Lastly, I didn't find the staff particularly friendly.
There are better, fully vegan options nearby, so I'll not be returning to Rose and Grants again anytime soon.
Pros: Vegan options
Cons: Poor value for money, surly staff

Vegan square sausage!!! - Edit
Pleasant cafe with separate vegan menu. Nearly fainted with joy when I saw vegan square sausage - so ordered the full vegan breakfast, and very nice it was too! Also ordered a vegan macaroni pie to take away for my lunch later on... which was absolutely delicious. What a treat! Will definitely visit again when I am next in Glasgow.

Second time lucky - Edit
First tried to eat here on the day of the Great Scottish Run but they had been forced to shut their kitchen as they had run out of food. Left disappointed but swore I'd return for the vegan square sausage.
Read moreReturned a couple of weeks later and it was worth the wait. Great rolls and square sausage (a Scottish delicacy) and if that wasn't enough, the waitress remembered me from my first attempt and apologised that they couldn't serve me.
My wife is vegetarian and she had a veggie breakfast, which she really enjoyed.
We have added this to our where to go for breakfast list and am sure we'll be back soon.
Pros: Central Glasgow, Square Sausages!, Friendly staff

Vegan fried breakfast - Edit
Rose & Grant's have a separate vegan menu, and they serve a full vegan scottish breakfast (including a vegan square sausage), all day, every day. For healthier options, the soup is always vegan and they also have a variety of vegan salads, sandwiches, and specials. They also have recently started serving raw vegan cake, vegan pies, and vegan chocolate all from locally sourced suppliers in Glasgow.

Cons: Only plant milk available is soy., Closes at 5pm.
