Impressive!! - Edit
Been eating vegan for many years. This is the best burrito I’ve had as long as I can remember. Warm chips with fresh salsa, great service sidewalk tables

Best burritos in the bay - Edit
We always get the soyrizo burrito it is sooo delicious! It’s huge too! They pack it! Don’t forget the chips & salsa! I don’t ever like corn chips but these I can eat the whole bag. I love the horchata made with coconut and it’s sooo good!! I highly recommend!

Good good - Edit
The food here is really good and I fought myself on giving it 4 or 5 stars, it's 4.314 imo. The area is busy and parking was a challenge and for me I'd prefer slightly bigger portions but I eat a lot. Rock solid nonetheless and I'm sure I'll be back when I'm in the area.

Soo unique and delicious! - Edit
I ordered the carne asada burrito for my brother-- without telling him it was vegan, he didn't even realize, and he said it was really good. The cauliflower tacos had this unique crisp to it that made it absolutely delicious. 10/10 recommend, exceptional restaurant for vegans and non-vegans alike.

This tiny spot has big love. Everything is seasoned to perfection. There are many less common vegetable choices that make it more exciting to choose. Prices are extremely reasonable. This is one of those vegan places where you hope mightily that they will stay in business. So go there, quick! Seating is outdoors, and the restroom is at their sister restaurant across the street. You can park in the lot under the freeway or up the hill a bit.

Yummy tacos - Edit
I dined here on June 1, 2023. My bus was delayed and I had 30 minutes to spare. Rico Rico Vegano was just around the corner so I thought I'd stop in and get a couple of tacos. I'm glad I did! I hope to be back soon to try some other items on the menu.

OBSESSED with this entire place - Edit
I don't know what to say beyond YOU NEED TO EAT HERE if you haven't already. I am addicted to their carne asada burrito. Their tacos are amazing, especially the pitaya tortillas. Their aguas frescas are just the perfect amount of sweet. Everything is fresh and perfectly spiced. The counter staff are the sweetest people I've ever met. If you are near Lake Merritt, you will not be sorry you came in. I want this place to expand so they can move to a bigger spot with indoor seating!

Looking for vegan near Lake Merritt. This is where the old Mediterranean restaurant was- which was so good. Super nice staff and it took a couple minutes since it's made to order. I had to order extras because I couldn't decide. Everything was delicious and also appetizingly beautiful 😍! 💯 recommended

Super Flavorful & Delicious! - Edit
Super flavorful with lots of fresh, vibrant ingredients! We have now tried the al pastor and soyrizo burrito bowl and the crispy "shrimp" tacos, and all have been delicious. My favorite has been the soyrizo burrito bowl. Service is fast and friendly. Wish they were open later and had more seating (currently have 1 table inside and a few outside) - maybe when the weather improves and they are more established I'll get my wish! For now, we've been grabbing food to go and enjoying it with some cocktails at Cathouse! Best of both worlds!

Every bite was a Wow! - Edit
You gotta check this place out! We tried five different tacos, and they were all amazing. Each one has its own unique and subtle flavors. We each had three tacos and could have kept going even though we were beyond full with the sides of rice and beans. The ceviche was also very good but didn't pack the same punch as the tacos. Carne asada and the oyster mushroom (it’s spicy!) burritos are out of this world. This place will please even the die-hard carnivores with lots of veggie meat options if that's your thing. It's all so good!

FIRST Recommendation!! - Edit
Wow!! So before I went vegan 6 years ago, I used to hit up this type of specific flavor burrito in the Bay I call, "East Bay burrito." Flavor usually consist of Mexican relish (onions, cilantro, lime juice), Mex rice, sour cream, sometimes beans and whatever protein (majority of the time carne asada). San Francisco having a different style called, "The Mission Burrito." Well Rico Rico NAILED the exact flavor profile of the "East Bay burrito." And now has jumped up the charts as my favorite vegan joint in the San Francisco Bay Area. Rico Rico WILL be my first recommendation to anyone visiting. I ordered their "Quesadilla De Masa w/ soyrizo" (BOMB AF!! $10 reasonable price for it's size), basically a BIG ass fried taco. And of course, the carne asada"East Bay burrito." ($15 again, reasonable for it's size) Both are filling...ate the quesadilla first and "almost" struggles finishing the burrito. Lol 5/5 stars, HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

We got the three tacos meal (I got a side of soup with it), a soyrizo burrito, and chips and guac and it was so much food! Everything was very tasty and we came home with lots of leftovers. I especially enjoyed the soyrizo and cauliflower tacos. Will be coming back!

Love the pink tortillas for tacos, and I’ve loved all the food I’ve gotten here. The carne asada and hongo fillings are particularly good. We also got catering from here for an event with about 50 people, and they were super easy to work with and made delicious food! Highly recommend!

Tortilla taco tastes fresh/handmade. Super affordable which makes it accessible. Yay!

It’s a small but cute place. Most are takeout orders, there are a few small tables outside on the street to eat and none inside.

Super yummy tacos - Edit
This place has a dozen or more vegan tacos & other delights that are largely made with good, honest vegetables—none of that nasty beyond impossible meat. You can order individual tacos, or a combo of 2 or three with one side (agua fresca, or chips+guacamole, or soup).
Read moreThe cauliflower, cactus, and marinated hibiscus tacos that I tried were all amazing. They have a rotating daily soup (lentil both days I've gone) and three kinds of agua fresca (jamaica/hibiscus, watermelon, horchata), as well as Topo Chico water and Jalisco sodas. Also, if you order chips, they arrive toasty and warm. The guacamole has rather a lot of cilantro in it.
This place is located on an awkard one-way street just off the main, but that main street has ample metered parking. The restaurant itself is tiny, with no indoor seating or restroom, just a few tables on the sidewalk. They seem to cater mostly to take-out business.
Pros: Super tasty!, Honest veggies, Large variety
Cons: No indoor seating, No restroom, Lots of cilantro in some things
