Simply the best in Minneapolis!

Phenomenal food, options, ingredients. I have yet to be let down and i eat there almost every other month! With other Vegan restaurants closing in this city, this one is still thriving with good reason! Never disappoints.

Pros: Everything. Not exaggerating, everything is amazin, Deserts, Vibe

Cons: Distance from home… not their fault

Fun Menu

We had such a hard time choosing what to order because everything sounded so good! We settled on the mojo smoked brussel sprouts as an appetizer, and then the Korean BBQ Mock Duck Tacos and the Long Haul Burger for our mains. We ate outside and it was so peaceful and relaxing and we were happy with everything we ordered. I think the long haul burger was our favorite, however! For dessert we got the chocolate beignets and chia seed pudding. If we lived in Minneapolis we would eat here all the time!

Pros: Unique Food Options, Helpful Staff, Great Ambiance

Minnesota MUST

Went to Reverie on my birthday so it was EXTRA special! We dined on their quiet patio outside and it offered such a calm environment to enjoy our meal.

We shared the Lemongrass Tofu Tacos with a side of solid potato wedges (plus a creamy veg aioli!). The sauce and breading on the tofu added a ton of flavor. Light but powerful!

Our second entree was the Mac and cheese bowl. WOW soooooo satisfying. Pasta spirals allowed the very creamy cheese sauce to stay gloopy (I say gloopy as a compliment). Very impressed.

Lastly we indulged in some cookies for dessert. I was mostly impressed by the chocolate SUN butter cookie (sunflower butter inside). Oh man, what a special cookie 🍪.

WOULD RECOMMEND!!

First Vegan Stop in MN - 👍🏽

This was a really good burger! My non-vegan folks liked it too. Plus the potatoes were scrumptious. The burrito was quite yummy too. We had the Curbside burger with hand cut potatoes, breakfast burrito, and chocolate beignets. We’ll return.

Pros: Every item we purchased was delicious , It’s a nice environment with a lot of seating, Tip included

Cons: A bit pricey

Great Vegan Spot

We went twice while in the area. It was great both times. We tried the lunch and the brunch menus. Their coffee is the best in the world. The mocha was flavored with cocoa powder and not too sweet. The house made cashew macadamia milk was so rich and creamy.
There is indoor and outdoor seating. It’s a nice place for a date, lunch with a friend, or as a quick stop.

Pros: All vegan atmosphere, Best coffee ever, Desserts

Cons: Need pepper on the tables

Cool vibes and great food!

The mac & cheese was delicious, super creamy. The mushrooms on top were ridiculously tasty, I wish there were more of them! For dessert, the chocolate beignets were pretty good, too. Not mind-blowing, but I've never seen this option before, so it was nice to try something different.

Minneapolis Vegan Art Come to Life

Reverie Cafe is not just a top tier restaurant in Minneapolis, it is a top tier vegan restaurant — period. And it is a strong contender for best restaurant in the city.

Wearing their anarchistic sentiment on their sleeve, the restaurant is decorated with local art all celebrating plant-based eating. It’s colorful, fun, and full of flair.

The food leans more to the “junk food vegan” side, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. The menu is diverse enough in a standard fast-food way, without getting over its head.

I ordered the Nashville fried “chicken” sandwich with potato wedges. The breading for the sandwich was crispy not just a mouthfeel way but in a satisfying audio way as well. Rounded off with the thick potatoes and a grapefruit soda, it was my best meal in the city.

I recommend for a casual, fun lunch or dinner. It’s approachable in its menu to bring non-vegan friends as well. Make sure to check it out!

Have been enjoying Reverie since they were just a food truck! Their food is AMAZING!!…from the Korean BBQ tacos, to the Berbere Sandwich….the Bulgogi Cauliflower ….you can’t go wrong. Their breakfast is amazing too (my favorite is the Tofu Breakfast Biscuit). Love when the weather is nice and can enjoy their lively patio too!!

Fair food

The food was okay. Sometimes it seemed like they compromised taste to try to be unique. Their mushroom bacon was incredible! Service tended to be pretty slow. I’ve gone twice, once for lunch and once for brunch, and I don’t plan on going back. The price to quality/taste is less than other vegan restaurants in the area. I really wanted to love this place and I hope they make positive changes to their menu!

So good that I’m annoyed

…because Seattle doesn’t do it this good. Anymore, at least. Every item we ordered was great, and I really like that they have accommodations for those with wheat/gluten issues. If I could steal this place from Minneapolis, I would.

Pros: Fantastic food , Great staff, Good drink options

Tasty

We enjoyed the atmosphere a lot, very cute and friendly. We had the bulgogi cauliflower, the Nashville chicken, and the Cuban. Well seasoned, though fried items were quite greasy. Wedge fries were super creamy.

Pros: Atmosphere , Variety

Very very cute

Really loved the vibes of this place! So hipster and queer friendly😄got the nachos that were pretty good but would try something else if I went back. Also got the beignets and would very much recommend! It seemed a bit expensive but they didn’t seem to do tipping so balanced out a bit.

Gratuity is included in the bill automatically that's why there's no tipping.

Delicious Food

We tried cauliflower tacos they had just the right amount of spice and the perfect amount to leave room for a cookie. The matcha raspberry cookies were crispy, and soft inside with just a hint of raspberry

Pros: Very friendly helpful staff, The flavors were perfect, So many choices! I’ll be back to try more

Love this spot

Such a great little spot, love their patio. Really enjoyed most of what we had. Didn’t love the Brussels sprouts but I also have never been a bacon fan and they are very bacon-y. Everything else was awesome, especially the beignets!

Reverie truck @ Veg Fest

We got the jackfruit nachos and the Bahn MI sandwich. Both were beyond amazing!! The nachos were perfection, chips crispy, "cheese" sauce delicious, flavor balance, everything. The sandwich had great flavor and texture, mild spice- not overpowering, lovely!

Bring help to carry a muffin home

The name Reverie is *not* to be confused with Reveille (the bugle song used by the military to awaken people and summon them to the first formation of the day), although that would be a great name, too.

The website does not mention how it got its name. Reverie is defined (by the all-knowing internet) as “an extravagant conceit of the imagination; a vision.” I am assuming the 585 founders listed on the website are the original donors to its start-up funding request, all united with a common [vegan] vision, thus the name.

My only “complaint” after eating here is that I wish Reverie had an “About” page on its website that describes all of this and its history. Food-wise I absolutely have no complaints – they have it nailed.

CURBSIDE BURGER REVIEW
One nice aspect about this burger is that it does *not* have an Impossible Burger patty. Instead, there is a house-made patty with special sauce, cheese, lettuce, tomato & pickles. Sort of Reverie’s answer to the Big Mac. Delicious to the last bite.

SIDES REVIEW
It was my first time eating here so I indulged with a side of Smoked Potato Salad (yum…love the creamy dill dressing), Handcut Organic Potato Wedges (every one was perfectly cooked), and a glass of blueberry ginger Kombucha which they had on tap (very nice combination of flavors).

CHOCOLATE BEET MUFFIN REVIEW
Anticipating no room for dessert, I ordered a Chocolate Beet Muffin to go, because, well, beets! Carrying it to my car required frequent rest stops – it is that substantial. I could not resist measuring and weighing it when I got home. It is 3.75" wide x 3” high and weighs 0.37 lbs. Fellow introverts beware! This muffin will cause you to yell “WOW” after taking your first bite, and make “mmmmmm” noises with each subsequent bite. Heads will turn in your general direction…eyes will be upon you. Totally worth it.

Great Veg Spot

You gotta hand it to the vegans in Minneapolis. A city known for their crunchy, granola, artsy, hipster, biking, tattoo-wearing, outdoorsy types. So, naturally, vegan restaurants fit all around the city. And hey, I’m one of them! They have knockout breakfast burritos, the biggest caramel roll you’ll ever see, and a great patio where you’ll find just the right amount of kindhearted hipster community you’d expect in south Minneapolis. Vibes and community are 10/10.

Pros: Great vibes, Beautiful patio, Delicious breakfast

Fine, Not Stellar

Not too many vegan restaurants in this town. This one was mentioned everywhere as one of the best, so when we were in town we tried it. A bit disappointed. Nice vibe, great people, the food was just okay.

Pros: Good vibe, Nice staff, Outdoor seating

Cons: Food okay, not great

Brunch was just ok, but atmosphere great

Pros: awesome outdoor patio, super cozy. desserts were fantastic (beignets and tahini & blueberry bostock which is a French sugary repurposing of stale bread).

Other: we tried 3 different brunch items and they were all just *ok*. Breakfast biscuit sandwich was giant and could only be eaten with a fork. Biscuit and gravy was a bit unexpected and not in a good way. Just a biscuit sitting in basically a gravy soup with potato chips. Hmm. The sausage is super full of fennel, just fyi. Polenta was just ok as well.

Consider this 3.5 stars for now, but I’ll definitely come back and try other items in the future.

Pros: Desserts, Atmosphere

Yes. Perfection.

We loved it all. Mac and Cheese, breakfast sandwich, korean BBQ tacos, and potato salad. Ordered takeout on the highway and just grabbed it from the to go area. Super convenient. Sit down area outside looks wonderful, will stop again!
