Awesome vegan buffet

I can't believe I never left a review, this is my favorite spot in town when I feel like having healthier restaurant food! Their potato salad is sooooo good. Carrot cake is 10/10, although sometimes I wish they had more vegan cakes. If you stop at petit vego downstairs, definitely try the tandoori sandwich!

Nice restaurant / café for a quick visit

I quickly passed by to have a drink and some vegan snacks. The muffin and cookie were alright, the beer was good, the service was nice and the place is cozy.

Pros: Vegan snacks, Good place for a quick visit

Great variety

Vego has a food counter with fresh food, fridges and freezers with prep-meals. They have some nice sandwiches, hot beverages and smoothies. I like the prep-meals that can be taken at home. I especially like the vego-pâté with which you can make great sandwiches or toasts. Note, that they also have a buffet (price is by weight), but the buffets is temporarily closed because of COVID-19.

What a great safe choice of restaurant!

Delicious food, welcoming, very Covid conscious. Major changes made to ensure food and staff are shielded behind plexiglass and there are no ladles or handles in sight. Changes explained as you enter. Food choices are dished out for you by a staff member. Same great choices though there are slightly fewer now. Hand sanitizer readily available and tables and chairs are disinfected after clients leave. Only negative point: I would prefer to see staff wear masks rather than visors as the former are a safer option.

Pros: Excellent food, Friendly, spotless restaurant

Cons: Slightly fewer options , Food could be warmer, Staff wear face coverings rather than visors

Really GOOD buffet

Really good buffet where you pay by weight. Many choices BUT too many vegetarian dishes😒Wish it was more vegan, especially for desserts. Vegan cakes were amazing!

Cons: More vegetarian than vegan

Rien d’exceptionnel

Yum

Seems like about 70% of items are vegan and I thoroughly enjoyed everything. Super tasty, big full plate for a reasonable price. I highly recommend!

NIce place, lots of healthy options

I really like going there because there are so many vegan options to choose from. Some of the things can be bland sometimes. But it's the only veggie buffet in Mtl so they've got to have points for that. It can get a bit pricey.

Pros: Lots of choices, Cozy place

My go-to comfort food

Most of the choices are vegan and it’s always good! The must try would be the Mediterranean stir fry and the ginger tofu.

Lots of selection!

Lots of vegan choices, you will find something you love. However, it was very expensive when you pay by weight and the quality is good, not great. The dessert was the best part. I would go back for the desserts!

Cons: Expensive

Meh...

Wide assortment but not very tasty. The tomato barley soup had a lot of cornstarch so it was gummy. And the salads were uninspiring in taste. Looked a bit tired...I was coming late in the afternoon perhaps so they’d been out for awhile? Pity since the concept is really excellent.

Pros: Lots of options, Concept is great

Cons: Expensive, Not vibrant looking - kinda tied looking, Taste was in the lower scale of average.

Great food

The food was amazing, there's such a wide range of options from raw cabbage salad to vegan nuggets. The method of service is serve yourself pay by weight, but I think they overcharge a little as they include the weight of the plate. Their promotional materials also advertise a cap at $19.99/plate but they don't actually cap it. Not a major problem though. Nice atmosphere inside, very casual, but I can't see why it's so expensive for a vegetarian restaurant with no table service where you bus your own tray.

Pros: Excellent food, Friendly staff, Casual atmosphere

Great options

Good first impression of the place and a lot of vegan options, but the prices goes up pretty fast and even though you might think that it’s cheaper to eat buffet by weight the price for the food got quite high (above regular buffet).

Pros: Many vegan options

nice place, good choices

The place was pretty crowded which illustrates its popularity. The staff was very welcoming nevertheless. As we were there for the first time and looked a bit lost, someone came over immediately and explained the concept to us. The details are only posted in french, so better ask if you don't understand. Bottom line (and catch): Food is by weight, desserts are weighed separately. There is an upper limit for a main course plate that makes it comparatively cheaper to get more than ~600g (at time of writing) on your plate. The catch: The limit only applies to plates up to 1kg. If you take more you will be billed entirely by weight without limit. I still consider that fair, however - and 1kg is quite some food. My plate was full and i was well below the limit. I failed to locate any scales that would allow you to check the weight of your plate before proceeding, but I did also not spend a lot of time looking for one. The selection itself is big and it would be difficult to stack every available food on one plate. Many things are vegan and marked as such. Ingredients are also posted on the labels. There was everything from salads, pizza, pasta, seitan dishes, marinaded tofu, mini burritos, etc... There was also a large selection of desserts which I did not check out in detail. Various wines, beers and juices are also available. If you don't want to eat buffet food there also seems to be a menu to choose from.

Tasty Buffet with Plenty of Options!

Resto Vego is a fantastic vegetarian buffet restaurant (with lots of vegan and gluten-free options as well) in the heart of Montreal’s Latin Quarter (Saint Denis Street). There was so much variety in their food choices with lots of salads, hot entrees (including curries, stir fries, chili and more), desserts and more. The food was all so flavourful and delicious!

The plates were charged by weight and it ended up being quite an expensive meal but was so worth it that I ended up returning a few times during my trip. The restaurant had indoor seating, a garden atmosphere behind the restaurant and a nice sidewalk patio on Saint Denis as well.

buffet is delicious

the buffet has a huuuuuuge (trump voice) selection. Everything's delicious but careful with how you fill your plate. The prices go up pretty fast. The ''creton'' and burrito available downstairs are delicious too. The to-go counter is convenient and more wallet-friendly. don't go by car.

Pros: big selection, pay for what you eat

Cons: no parking, gets pricey

Good place to please everyone

We went there a couple of times, sometimes with our families, which are non-vegans. It's a good place to eat near Berry-UQAM and to enjoy a simple lunch.
It's not the best quality of food, not the finest or fanciest dishes, but it's quiet good !

Pros: The variety of dishes

Cons: The dishes never change

Almost Too Much Choice

Have been here on more than one occasion when visiting Montreal. The buffet offers more choice than enough. It is difficult to know when to stop loading up the plate. The vegan choices are clearly marked.

Pros: Great choices of different vegan food, Lots of seating despite being a busy spot
