A Mere Faksimile - Edit
Since its inception, I’d been longing to eat here and was prepared to be dazzled. Surprises were certainly in store - though few of them good.
Read moreThe first came upon arrival. I had pictured somewhere grand and lavish; instead, it was more a small box at the end of nowhere. However, I was confident this facade would merely belie the truth, a mindset that seemed prescient as inside I was greeted by tasteful, rustic décor, plush seating and a cozy atmosphere. This, however, is where the niceties ceased.
The killer? Two-thirds of the menu was unavailable. What remained was a smattering of salads, burgers, sandos, and shawarmas. Having pined for a blooming onion for years, I was beyond excited at the prospect of finally getting to sample one, but it wasn’t to be. The server was profusely apologetic, but it was far from ideal. Part of the beauty of an all-vegan establishment is the abundance of choice-this felt like I could’ve been anywhere. At this point, the pressure on the food to deliver was immense.
To give credit where due, some dishes were quite delicious. The mosakhan rolls and mini chicken burger sliders, both starters, were great - though the former arrived lukewarm.
The mains, sadly, didn’t hold up. The Texas BBQ looked dry but was surprisingly juicy, albeit missing one crucial ingredient: BBQ sauce. The meat shawarma was underwhelming, dominated by parsley to the point it tasted more like a tabbouleh wrap. One bright spot was the seasoned fries - crisp and well-spiced, though portion sizes were a touch meagre.
Dessert brought a mix of relief and frustration. While I was glad they had any, the options were minimal and far less enticing than those on the supposed full menu.
Disappointment turned to dismay when the tiramisu arrived - pre-packaged and frozen, I had to recreate the shower scene from Psycho to break through the top layer. Once through, my hard work went well and truly unpaid; the drab, lifeless underbelly was not worth the effort.
Some minor salvation came in the form of the cookies. Of the two I sampled, the kunafa had a better texture, while the birthday cake one triumphed on sweetness and satisfaction, though at their price, I expected no less.
Final gripe (or helpful tip): there’s no toilet. Blessed relief can be found by schlepping to the adjacent building, but it’s hardly convenient or conducive to a smooth dining experience.
Sadly, I don’t think I’ll return. Too many things fell short of the mark and I failed to see the value.

Not the best dine in option when you have a reunion - Edit
The food was nice. The fries were over oily. The location is scary, there are no signs or info about how to reach the place.
Read moreThe waiter did not realice that someone was inside.
Not many option of their large menu, the excuse was we are changing the menu on next week. Service could be improved.

Awesome breakfast - Edit
Vegan French toast and vegan pancakes were hot fluffy and tasty. Loved the topping offerings too. Really thankful I found them on Happy Cow as I was totally lost on what direction to go in on the local delivery apps. I called the restaurant and they directed me to order through the Deliveroo App.

Pros: Tasty, Hot, Sufficient servings

A strange experience and very greasy - Edit
The first issue was the location. It’s tucked away in the basement of a fairly run down building and is not easy to find. The second issue is the waitress kept telling us that it was “not available” for most things we tried to order. The selection they actually have is very small compared to the menu they present. The third issue is the waitress inexplicably walked out half way through taking our order and did not return. Three people in our party had ordered and one was halfway through ordering when someone downstairs called her and she said “just a moment” and left. And I mean left! I had to go downstrairs to ask what was happening and she was nowhere to be found. Completely left her shift or something, so another waiter had to come and take our order again. Pretty much the most bizarre thing that’s ever happened when ordering food at a restaurant and it should go without saying that if you want to make a horrible impression on a customer, then just walk out. Unreal. The fourth issue was the food itself. Extremely oily, deep fried, and ranging from tasteless to wretched. Just messy junk food that was greasy and not at all what we expected. Some of the food was also undercooked and cold. Disappointing to say the least. The fifth issue is 3 of us received our meals and were finished eating by the time the 4th person was served. Finally, the sixth issue should have been the red flag for us… when we walked in there was nobody sitting at the reception counter, just a fly swatter sitting there. Weird and honestly a bit gross. We probably should have left at that point, but we had payed for an uber from across town and were hungry so we stayed. All around a strange and dreadful experience.

Bad day? - Edit
I was looking forward to an all vegan experience after a tough day at work. When I arrived at a very respectable hour, the restaurant was empty and looked not well preserved. The personnel was friendly and accommodating, but menu availability was very poor. The explanation I was given was that the chef was sick. Will definitely give it another try.

Very tasty - Edit
Great tasting all vegan menu. Though not everything was available. Tough location to find! Apple Maps provides the wrong location. Google is accurate. Very friendly. Had the “chicken” shawarma and “tree of life” fried mushrooms.

Everything I ate was a treat for my taste buds - Edit
It took me thirty minutes to order because there was so much to choose from! Good thing my friend had been here and she ordered the good stuff. It’s been a few weeks since I ate here and I can still remember every bite. My favorite: Tree of Life. Hands down.

One of the latest vegan editions to Dubai - Edit
Visited post a hike which allowed us to try a few things. Blooming onion was one of the best things I had in Dubai to date. Other stuff were nice but a bit on the oily side, so it depends on your liking really.
Read morePortions are really generous and prices are fair. Other appetizers looked really interesting such as the garlic bread so that's something to try next time.
Owned by the creator of ex-veganity so that's exciting! #Veganuary
Having visited a second time, I got to try more variety and was seriously mind blown at the quality and flavor. Exactly what the city has been missing out on. The menu has expanded to include so many interesting dishes. The vegan chicken they make and use is out of this world. The garlic bombs are to die for. I genuinely cannot wait to go back and eat my way through the menu.

Must try, there's something for everyone. - Edit
Located in the Windsor towers -1 floor, Replika is true to its name and wonderfully replicates mostly American and some Arabic restaurant classics.
Read moreWe were on our way to the airport and were tight on time, the restaurant team were able to dish us out 3 appetizers, a sandwich and a main course in 30 minutes, all tasting yummy!
Crispy Salmon Tacos (20 out of 10!)
Blooming Onion (8 out of 10)
Mini Burger Sliders (10 out of 10)
Escalope Milanese (10 out of 10)
Crispy Dynamite Chicken Wrap (5 out of 10)
Can't wait to go back and try the rest of the quite large menu, I've attached pictures of it :)

Okay - Edit
The overall experience was average. I ordered the lobster roll and it was decent, but I feel that it lacked in flavor. The lobster mix could have certainly used more seasoning or flavor. The chips that came with the dish were just bland. Also, this is a hard spot to find. Replika is located behind the back of the building close to a day care.

Creative menu and delicious food - Edit
I think the food was quite tasty although I would've liked to see less fried/processed foods and vegan meats and more cleaner vegan dishes. Regardless, the food was fairly priced and the portions were good.
Read moreThe vegan wagyu sando was perhaps not the healthiest but was certainly tasty. The grilled peach and lentil salad was likely one of the prettiest salads I've ever eaten and was a great healthy option.
Public parking is available. I believe there is visitor parking in the building itself. #Veganuary
Pros: Lovely staff, Nice outdoor seating (in winter)
Cons: Needs cleaner/less fried food options

Nothing that you ordered was fried though, and non of their meats is processed it’s all made in house with clean ingredients that are also allergen free such as konjak seamoss & pea protein. There are 50 items on the menu and only starter dishes (6 in total) and one burger is fried the rest are grilled, steamed or in the oven. And if you don’t want deep fried you can request for that certain dish to be air fried instead 🙏🏼

Tasty Vegan Comfort Food - Edit
Replika had just opened a few days earlier when we visited and very little online about it so I wanted to share some information. This is outdoor only dining and has around 15-20 tables. It’s on the boardwalk overlooking the water and Burj Khalifa with good views. We got an Uber to the building its in - from there it is down one floor in the loft then outside and to the right.
Read moreWe ordered the garlic bread balls, bloomin’ onion and tree of life to start.
Tree of Life (deep fried battered enoki mushrooms) were amazing when eaten “taco style” in the provided lettuce. The garlic bread balls were also an absolute star.
Mains we had chicken tenders (very realistic and moist chicken with meat-like tearing) and the burger.
I eat a lot of burgers before and since being vegan. This is in my top two vegan burgers that I’ve ever had. The balance between “meat”, bread, cheese and sauce was just right to stay moist. Really great burger.
For desert we tried donuts (nice but could do with something like a raspberry coulis) and mango kunaffa cup. The cup had some amazing textures and the use of the vermicelli not only gave it a great texture but also visually made the whole thing look like a garden with roots.
The comfort food here is great but if coming back I’d try some of the other dishes as there’s a huge range here.
Portions were gigantic. Very fair pricing but too much for us (and we can eat a lot!)
We were told this is a soft launch and they’ll be fully launching soon.
Good luck guys! #Veganuary
Pros: Varied menu, Friendly staff, Great views
