Well worth a visit - Edit
I’d heard about the friery from a few friends over the years and finally got to try it for myself. I had the mushy pea fritter with chips and a little portion of curry sauce. Absolutely spot on!

Great Vegan Chippy Options - Edit
The fake battered sausage, pea fritter and fake chicken bites were really nice and the chips and curry sauce were also super tasty. Recommend getting a vegan box. The staff couldn’t be more friendly!

Friendly owners and great options! - Edit
We've been going here for about five years now and it's always lovely. There's some great vegan options including battered sausages, pea fritters, nuggets, curry sauce and, of course, chips. It's decent value for money. It comes to about £15 for two people with a couple of drinks thrown in. The chips are really nice, and the family who runs it are lovely. Although I do wish they'd bring back the vegan gravy!

Great vegan boxes! - Edit
Had the vegan selection box twice now from Ranmoor Friery and both times have been very pleased with the meal—tasty, filling and good value for money! The only change would be the vegan mayo—could be switched up to a mayo more flavoursome.

The vegan box is amazing! - Edit
If only I could give 5 stars. This is by far my fave chippy in Sheffield as a vegan. I always get the vegan box which comes with chicken nuggets, a battered sausage, pea fritter, chips and curry sauce. It’s honestly so good!! Even my non-vegan sister gets this over fish and chips. It’s also run by the loveliest family you’ll ever meet.

Fantastic! - Edit
This place has so many vegan options & the fact they cook them separately, as well as the chips, is brilliant. The portion sizes are ideal & the prices very good. It's a family-run business & they're always really nice. I love the mushy pea fritter; it's great to have a non-false meat option. There sometimes can be a bit of a wait, with no where to sit down, & parking can be a bit of an issue if you don't know the area, but overall definitely recommend.

Absolutely Disappointed And Disgusting - Edit
After seeing positive reviews I drove 13.6 miles to this place which was meant to be a “High Class” fish and chips shop, however I was absolutely disappointed, gutted and disgusted with the quality of the fish and chips. The fish and chips with sauce cost me over £10 each I bought 3 (Very pricey) in the shop the Fish and chips on the menu board says it’s around £3.50-£6.00 however this is incorrect and misleading as they have not updated their menu to say they have been there for such a long time. I will be forwarding this complaint to Trading Standards and Food and Safety team as this is not acceptable having a menu with prices which is over 10 years old. The workers were the Father and Son Duo who were okay but the chips on all 3 fish and chips was cold and dark coloured the fish was not the quality you would expect in a “Posh and upper class area of Sheffield” I must say I was extremely upset and disappointed. Specially when I paid over £36 pounds for 3 fish and chips and 2 drinks. Either the son and father committed a day light robbery or this place needs to fix up and change their prices on the menu and being misleading for a 0.5 Star quality fish and chips. It’s time they fixed up and they will be getting a visit from Trading Standards and Health and Safety regarding their food and experience I had.
Read moreI am a civil service worker and I will take this further.
I will be ringing in for my refund or fix your service and offer better quality food when your charging high class money for such a low, over cooked and cold food.
Disgusting food. I have never been more disappointed in food ever. This place has put me off from Fish and Chips.

We’ve never paid that much for fish and chips. Their mix boxes are only about a tenner. Did you question the price when there?
Read moreNever had an issue with food or prices. Take this further - civil service worker - trading standards - food safety (this has nothing to do with food safety). Is your name Karen?
This seems more like a grudge than an accurate review tbh.

Vegan chippy tea - Edit
Rare to find a chippy that has a good selection of vegan options you can be confident are cooked separately from the rest of their food. They ran out of nuggets so instead of the 6 I ordered, I got 3 with a pea fritter and vegan samosa thrown in (both of which were pretty damn huge, so I definitely hit the jackpot!). This ticked all the boxes of what you want a chippy tea to be - value for money, generous portion sizes, deep-fried crispy batter, everything dipped in curry sauce - but vegan!

We are visiting the Peak District for the first time and had a quick look on Happy Cow. Could not believe there was a chippy near by that had so many vegan-friendly options. We had the vegan selection box - everything tasted great.

Great little chippy - Edit
Went here about a month ago and had chips with a mixed vegan selection of battered sausage, prawns, nuggets with a pot of gravy and curry. You get loads so one portion is enough for 2 unless you're like me and scoffed the lot. The owner was very nice and even gave us a free selection because we had travelled just to try it. Good price and very good service. Will definitely go again

Worth the drive! - Edit
It's a 30 minute drive from my house to Ranmoor friery. I went all the way there on the 3rd of January only to find it was still closed for Christmas! Noooo! The sign said it would reopen on the 4th, so the following day I drove all the way there again. Totally worth it! Vegan chips, vegan battered sausage, vegan chicken nuggets, vegan curry sauce and vegan mushy pea fritters. It was all amaaaaazing!

System won't let me give five stars as it's an omni outlet, otherwise it would have been five stars all the way. Separate facilities used and conscientious owners!

Excellent service and food. We had the vegan selection box which included battered sausage, pea fritters, nuggets, chips and prawns! The battered sausage tasted just like the way I remembered. I swapped the curry sauce for mushy peas, which were very tasty. The service was great, and the price was very reasonable.

Battered Sausages! - Edit
Been years since I had a battered sausage and this didn't disappoint, crispy batter and all. Accompanied with some proper chippy chips and some nuggets I had a proper vegan feast. Really friendly welcome from the family running the place who chatted about their vegan options and pointed out the separate fryers. I also had a sample of the curry sauce which is vegan too. Delicious!
