Only a couple of options but they’re good

We stumbled upon this place after visiting the bamboo forest and we were glad we did. I tried the tomato ramen, my sister has the miso ramen. That’s about the extent of the options, but both were delicious and fresh. They came with a bit of tofu ‘cheese’, which sounded weird but was good, especially with the tomato ramen. There’s an option to buy one of the panda chopstick holders for 400 yen too, which of course I couldn’t resist.

Pros: Good service , Nice food

Cons: Only a couple of vegan options

Solid vegan ramen at Arashiyama

You can find this place at the end of Arashiyama, in a quit side street.

I had the vegan tomato ramen. It had bell peppers, okra, shredded "cheese" (based on tofu), sprouts and pumpkin as a topping. They also have a vegan miso ramen.

The tomato soup was light and sour sweet, but tasty. The okra was slimy, which thickened the soup. The ramen noddles were kinda thin in my opinion. I wasn't sure about the bell peppers.

It was tasty. The portions size was kinda small for 2000¥. You can order via QR-Code and Smartphone. Water was free.

Pros: free water, fast ordering, ordering via smartphone

Cons: small portion, pricey for that portion

Ramen loaded with fresh veggies

Stumbled upon this place while desperately looking for a vegan meal nearby the Arashiyama bamboo forest. Very welcoming family business, the elderly lady who runs the place is really nice and they really care about the food they serve there. They speak limited english but they are really accomodating. I accidently ordered an extra bowl of ramen and we were able to sort the issue. The ramen wasn't the cheapest but I thought it was way better than the famous Uno Yukiko, in Gion. It was loaded with fresh veggies and one of the toppings was a sort of tofu cheese. The broth was really flavourful. Really recommend this place in the Arashiyama area.

Pros: Flavourful food, Friendly staff, family business, Quick service

Cons: Cash only

wow

Best ramen we had our whole 3 weeks in japan. There are two fully labelled vegan options. The staff are friendly and well spoken in English. The service was quick. We ordered both types if ramen and they were 'oishii' delicious. A bit kore expensive than other ramen places (probably because of the tourist area) but totally worth it. I wish I could bring 3 more home with me.

Pros: ramen, service, ramen

Cons: very warm restaurant

Decent vegan ramen

Nothing special but a decent vegan option if you are in the area.

Had the vegan miso ramen option, broth was nice, noodles bit thin, okra was great. Not a fan of the bell peppers. Vegan cheese (from tofu) was also pretty tasty.

It was okay

The plate was very aesthetically pleasing to the eye, but the flavor profile was not mind blowing.
It’d say it’s good, if you’re hungry.

Pros: The staff , The place

Vegan ramen

Really close to the best spots in Arashihama, the bus stop and the train station. Offer vegan ramen which is not really typical

Really yummy ramen

The staff member's where so helpful with a family member that has an allergy. Two fully vegan options, that are advertised as so. So, no need to worry about hidden ingredients

Lovely atmosphere, service and presentation

After exploring the bamboo forest and shrine with 1000 faces in the morning, came here in the afternoon and had the clearly labeled “vegan ramen.” Service was very warm and friendly and ramen was yum! Beautiful, floral presentation and just the right amount of food.

Beautiful ramen and people

The ramen was so delicious and really light, while still being incredibly flavorful. The use of whole wheat noodles is a fantastic touch! The owner and chef were both so friendly and kind, as well. It was a great experience at the end of a great day in Arashiyama.

Friendly service, cute and relaxing place

This ramen is a work of art. It is almost too pretty to eat (ours had edible flowers). Very convenient after visiting the bamboo forest and shrines in Arashiyama. You can tell the owners make their ramen with a lot of love and pride. Also extremely friendly, clean and cute decor.

Beautiful Ramen, beautiful people

Two vegan options for Ramen, so we had one each… and they were both beautiful to look at and beautiful to eat! The hosts were so lovely, encouraging us to try each other’s broth.
It’s slightly away from the main tourist shopping street, so there was no queue when we arrived, despite it being lunch time. Lovely surroundings in this small but very beautiful restaurant.

Pros: Beautiful food, Lovely hosts, Beautiful surroundings

Cons: None!

Deliciously curated ramen in Arashiyama!

The owner is so incredibly polite, we had the miso ramen which he explained all the ingredients that were in the dish to us.

The ingredients can vary slightly due to the seasons, but wow! A little bit pricey at 2000 yen per bowl but it was so delicious
