:( - Edit
It is always a risk of trying new places as a vegan - just wanted to put this review out there to future vegans who are tempted but hate vegan meat substitutes! For vegans who are lovers of the taste/texture of meat but doing it for the animals - this is absolutely the place for you! I feel awful leaving a bad review - but for the vegans repulsed by the taste AND texture of meat, their vegan substitute was my nightmare. I LOVE all the additions to a hot dog - crunchy onions, everything pickled, ketchup and mustard - I just wish they also had a vegetable based option that complimented all of this and not only something possibly trying to substitute reindeer meat. But the staff were for lovely, the atmosphere was incredible!

Waiting in the long line was worth it - Edit
Only 1 vegan option, but there are only 3 options total. I nearly didn’t buy this as they said it’s no longer a sausage and, instead, it’s a patty cut in two. However, so glad I did as it was really yum and warmed me up in the -12 degrees weather. The classic option comes with fried onions, pickled onions, beetroot, ketchup & mustard and was only 70kr. There’s a small, covered outdoor seating area at the back too

A lovely historic spot for an al fresco quick bite - Edit
This is a historical hot dog stand which serves a vegan hot dog with a vegan bread roll (the standard bread contains animal products). I had the vegan hot dog topped with crispy onions, pickled onions and mustard.
Read moreThere were several sauces available and beetroot as an optional topping. The stand also served hot, cold and alcoholic drinks.
This is a great place for a quick bite in Tromso, especially if you are travelling with an omni.
The first time I visited they had unfortunately sold out of the vegan hot dogs but luckily had them the next day - it is probably best to go early to avoid disappointment.
