This cozy vegan restaurant in the heart of Edinburgh is a must. The food here is delicious and healthy. The staff and the owner are super friendly, they even gifted us a nut-ball.

Auf dem richtigen Weg - Edit
Salat sehr lecker, aber kleine Abstriche bei den Falafel und beim tray bake. Die Desserts waren dafür aber wieder sehr gut.

Perfect spot for a healthy lunch - Edit
Everything was fresh, healthy, and beautifully prepared. I had the three salad plate, and my husband had the tray bake - both were excellent. The staff could not have been nicer. We also loved the location in the church garden. We hope to get back before we have to head home to the US.

Lovely spot. , lovely people, good honest food - Edit
Beautiful location under St John’s church. The owner was lovely and the food was healthy but tasty. Given how hard it has been to find nice fresh food in Scotland, the broccoli and lentil salad was just what I needed. The cafe is still waiting on its liquor license, so we couldn’t have a beer sadly. Guess that means we’ll just have to come back!

I liked the muffin, sadly it was fully seated so I couldn’t eat there. Still a very good muffin though and it is fully vegan

Great, plant-based lunch! - Edit
I stopped by with my vegan friend for lunch, and we were both blown away by what was on offer. I had the traybake with a bean salad which I would thoroughly recommend - the menu changes regularly, however, so take that with a pinch of salt! Everything was freshly cooked and delicious. The staff were incredibly friendly as well - cannot possibly recommend trying here enough!

A simple idea brilliantly executed - Edit
On the surface, Pulse looks likes quite a traditional, rather boring, healthy vegetarian/vegan place, but in fact it is really well done and makes for a delightful experience. I had the spinach tart and three of the salads, and it was all very flavoursome and beautifully presented. Add to this the pleasant but central location – you can sit outside if the weather is good enough – and the extremely helpful, very friendly service, and reasonable prices, and I’m looking forward to going back soon.

We stopped for lunch and ate outside on a nice day. I got a two salad combination and my partner had Turkish lentil soup. Both were fantastic. Would definitely recommend.

Simply the best! - Edit
Passionate about creating original, delicious and yet healthy vegan food with a heart. You must try the aubergine dish and then the tiramisu inspired overnight oats!
Read moreThe minestrone and sourdough bread with herby "butter" were also lovely (cos I was sampling my companions lunch too.) And spinach flan and potato salad isn't the right term for the great third dish today. Go. Now. But call ahead for a table!

We passed the cafe by accident and were warmly welcomed by the super friendly staff. Sat on the sunny terrace and enjoyed some drinks and desserts. Super nice and cute place with good prices and all vegan. You should definitely give it a try when in Edinburgh!

Good and refreshing, not necessarily great - Edit
A variety of WFPB small plates are offered here. I had the “mockzarella”, seitan slices, and small salad.
Read moreIt was exactly what I needed, as I had a few days of heavy meals and needed something lighter. The vibes were good, owner was super nice, and the location makes it a perfect “break” in the middle of a long travel day. I also really appreciated the freshness of the ingredients.
There were small components of this meal that were amazing, e.g. the sauce with the seitan, but other things like the “mockzarella” itself was average (you could easily make the same thing at home with cashews and tapioca starch).

Tasty grub.. - Edit
Grub is tasty , right enough. See what am thinking right about now is that the food is very British vegan, healthy, just nice.. unlike the prices, these are steep.man, real steep. If you like soup, you're in. Now, why they ask for a tip , then, having made you feel guilty, claim it's optional, is totally beyond me. May call in again though.
