Good vibes, Great food! - Edit
We loved this spot. The server, the food, the vibes, everything. The el pastor tacos are so delicious! The kombucha are tasty too. I tried the mole but I think I’m just not a mole kind of person! Loved the concept though. Can’t wait to go back and try everything else on the menu.

Cosy upstairs terrace with nice vegan Mexican food. I had the tacos and I liked all of them. It takes some time to get the food so dont come hungry and don’t be in a rush. But its worth the wait. 😎

Truly excellent! - Edit
We ordered the Kentucky taco (mushrooms battered in delicious panko and oat crumbs), the pastor (seitan and pineapple), a type of Mexican lasagna, and tacos covered in mole. Delicious home-style cooking and the kind of place where you'd want to try everything on the menu. Highly recommended!

So yummy! - Edit
My husband and I had dinner here and all of the other reviewers are right. The food is amazing! We got two tacos as appetizers: one chickpea cutlet and one "KFC" fried oyster mushroom. Both delicious. The caesar salad was only $80 pesos ($4 USD) so I was expecting a side salad. I was pleasantly surprised that it was a full sized salad with a sizable portion of oyster fried "chicken," sunflower seeds, vegan cheese, and a dressing that was to-die-for! I would seriously come back just for the dressing!!! We also ordered nachos with choripapa (potatoes) and the pastel Azteca. The nachos came with a large dish of bomb guac. I would order them again but with a different topping. I thought the menu said the choripapa had chickpeas, which I wanted for added protein, but I believe it was just potatoes. We ordered a lot of food so we barely made a dent in the pastel Azteca even though it was delicious. We brought the leftovers home and it was somehow even 10x better for lunch the next day!
Read moreThe restaurant is in a mostly residential neighborhood and a little hard to find. I could be mistaken but I don't think there's a sign on the street. Look for a dragon mural and it's right upstairs.
Over all, great experience, great food, great service, and it's pet friendly! I wish they served beer or wine because I love a cerveza with good Mexican food. But, I'll def be back!

Incredible option in Playa del Carmen - Edit
The food and service was great. We had 4 tacos, the flautas and a portobello mushroom with a potato and "chorizo" filling. Everything was absolutely delicious, filling, and for a fair price. Absolutely would recommend.

Ay Dios Mío!!! - Edit
Wasn’t ready for that! This place is phenomenal! I ordered just about every taco but the Pastor was the show stealer. The pineapple is perfect with it. The non spicy salsa they give you is fantastic as well. Place is on the 2nd floor and kind of difficult to find as there is no signs indicating it. Do yourself a favor, visit this place while in PDC, you won’t regret it.

BEST VEGAN FOOD - Edit
BEST VEGAN FOOD WE'VE HAD YET!! Everything is vegan!! The tamales are beyond delicious, the flautas are perfectly seasoned and in a delicious sauce, the pezole is simple but lovely, and everything else on the menu sounds amazing!! A little hard to find - you have to open the light blue gate and go upstairs - but totally worth it! There's free street parking just outside as well if you're driving. The Cubana is also delicious and everything is cheap/reasonably priced. 10/10 you should absolutely eat here!!!

Very Mexican - Edit
I got confused walking back and forth across the street trying to find it 😂 It is where Google maps places it, just not well signposted. The menu has a lot of unknowns for a foreigner like me but I'm sure it's all delicious. I had the pastel Azteca. Good stuff! I also liked the kombucha, it was not too sweet but minty fresh.

We went back for more - Edit
Found this place through happy cow which was located very close to where we were staying. There is no sign posted outside just a board that mentions vegan food so we accidentally walked into the bakery next door a bit confused and they guided us next door to madre milpa (tortillería). Honestly I was left amazed; I was not expecting the food to be that good. The first night we tried a torta cubana and some tacos and we loved it so we came back our second and last night in Playa del Carmen. I ordered a salad with the Kentucky mushrooms and a Chile relleno. I was blown away with the Chiles rellenos plate! It was sooooooooooooooooooooo delicious!!!!!! And my salad was really good too. This little gem is a must try!!!!
