Wonderful! - Edit
I had a lovely lunch at Planta Queen; miso soup and “beef” & broccoli. The food was piping hot and delicious! Service and ambiance were great too!

Only regret is I didn't try it sooner! - Edit
After wanting to try Planta- Queen for a very long time, I finally decided to give it a try. I made a reservation, which I’m glad I did because the restaurant was quite busy.
Read moreI tried the bang bang broccoli and volcano sushi as an appetizer. Both were amazing! I’m always very cautious eating sushi at a non-vegan restaurant, so I’m glad I had the opportunity to try it at Planta. For my main, I got the Korean chicken sandwich, which was also delicious. It was a little spicy, but very flavourful! For desert I tried the cookie with ice cream. Cookie was warm and and chewy, and just overall delicious!
Service was fantastic and our waiter was very polite, and efficient. Atmosphere was a little fancy, but most customers dressed fairly casual. Price of the meal was very reasonable considering the food quality, service and atmosphere.
I cannot wait to go back, there are so many other menu items I want to try! My only regret is not coming sooner!

All Plantas are always the best option! - Edit
This planta in Queen St is more focused only on Asian style food, but they also have a brunch that is very good. This time I was there right at the time they opened, at 11 am and I tried the scrambled tofu with kale, it was really good and then I got the waffle...amazing. my 3rd time at this Planta, simply great as all Plantas

Planta is a beautiful spot for plant-based dining with a chic, vibrant atmosphere - Edit
I even found love on my first date here! 💛 The staff are attentive and welcoming, making the experience feel special. 🍽️
Read moreThat said, some dishes lean heavily on fried items, which isn’t my favorite, and the watermelon juice was quite watery. Still, the ambiance, creativity of the menu, and the overall vibe make it a memorable place for a special outing. 🌱🌟

Always Exceptional — PLANTA Queen Delivers Again 😋 - Edit
Read moreI’ve been going to PLANTA for many years, and this location did not disappoint. Everything was flavorful and beautifully presented. The restaurant itself is spacious with an upscale yet welcoming vibe, making it great for both casual lunches and date nights. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the menu continues to offer that perfect East meets West twist that PLANTA is known for. Always a solid choice when in Toronto!

Best Vegan Restaurant I have Visited in Years - Edit
Planta is one of the best vegan restaurants I have visited in any city. The menu is entirely vegan. The menu includes a mix of traditionally vegan foods and realistic meat substitutes. With a range from health food to comfort food, the menu truly has something for everyone.
Read moreMany dishes feature fried mushrooms as a substitute for calamari (fried squid). I thought the boiled vegan "beef" in the beef and broccoli entree was especially tasty.
As other reviewers have noted, the physical space of the restaurant is extremely upscale, making it appropriate for business meals and other formal meetings. Many of the menu items are carefully crafted to be as visually beautiful as the restaurant itself.
Meals are a bit pricy, but not noticeably more expensive than any other sit-down restaurant in downtown Toronto.
Planta is a true hidden gem. I can't wait to return.
Pros: Everything on the menu is vegan, Options for a wide variety of tastes, Upscale atmosphere

Too good for only One visit - Edit
We have been there two times, because there were so many delicious options on the menu and we couldn’t agree on choosing all of them during our first visit… All in all each of the dishes was delicious! Maybe some of those are a bit on the fried side, which is for us Europeans, not as common as it is in North America… I guess

Great food in a gorgeous restaurant - Edit
We stopped at Planta Queen for dinner. My first reaction was that the restaurant itself is gorgeous. From the deep red tile outside to the detailed decor inside, it’s clear a lot there was a lot of thought put in. We ordered the unagi eggplant with miso truffle, the crispy rice with ahi watermelon, the volcano with heart of palm crab, the avocado beetroot tartare, and the mushroom beef and broccoli. The unagi eggplant came out first and it was amazing. The texture was soft and creamy and I can’t even describe how tasty it was. It was an amazing little flavour bomb. The crispy rice was really good too, it’s surprising how good the watermelon was and it was not overly sweet. The toppings on the volcano were really good and definitely elevated the maki rolls. The beet tartar was also super flavourful and the addition of the avocado added creaminess. For us, the miss in the meal, and what dropped my rating from 5 stars to 4, was the beef and broccoli. The description said the beef was made from wok seared shiitake mushrooms, but the texture in my mind was the same as overcooked and dry mycelium mushroom steaks. The pieces were hard to chew and the dish in my mind was not improved with the addition of rather bland chunks of tofu. With one exception we definitely ate some amazing food.

Wow! Blew me away - Edit
The restaurant is just a few blocks from my hotel so I tried it out. Very creative menu and nearly everything is gluten free! I couldn’t decide what to get, as I wanted to try everything! I tried the nigiri options and the avocado beet tartar. Now I want to come back and try other things on the menu! Fantastic!

Hit the spot - Edit
Delisshhhhh. Loved the crispy potato straws that came on the Firecracker roll. Was a little worried it might be too spicy but was very mild. The fried rice was insane. Super oily but it felt very much like a speciality meal. The mushroom bacon was to die for. The banana pudding was SO FREAKING GOOD. Light and fresh so so yum.

Best vegan food we’ve had in our two weeks in Canada! We had sushi, bai buns, potato stacks and bang bang broccoli. All of it was amazing, but the broccoli and the sushi was so good we actually ordered a second portion after we’d finished everything else!

Never disappoints! - Edit
What can I say? Another great meal at PLANTA, first time at the Queen location. Loved the Crab Rangoon Dip and the Banana Pudding in particular! They also have great cocktails. I always enjoy ordering their appetizer and dessert options that you don’t often find on vegan menus… think cheesy or creamy. They do those flavours and textures really well. Delicious! 👌🌱

The best sushi I've ever had - Edit
Beautiful place, great atmosphere and incredible food! The black labelled pressed sushi was the best sushi I've ever had - a genuine recommendation if you have a chance to grab a bite here or in any other of Planta's locations - there are a few in Toronto, and even in LA.
