Basic, Overly Sweet , Rude - Edit
Been going here since they opened because it's the only place sugary enough for carnies. Service has always been terribly, purposefully slow and inefficient. Always the same short MJ filled playlist looping in their small space. Always taken up the monopoly on Vegan desserts at grocery stores, even miles away they won't let up for competition and allowing us variety. Now, the website is all bait and switch. When you try a "special" order they just give you a super basic whatever and blame you for reading and believing the descriptions. It's time for new places to shine.

🤯 - Edit
My husband bought a dozen baby cakes for my birthday and I was giddy with choice and the flavors and just how cute they were. Can’t believe they were also GF. The coconut and the raspberry frostings were my fav.

Adorable gf & vegan bakery! - Edit
Came in about an hour before they closed and they still had a lot of baked goods left! I got a cupcake, frosted sugar cookie, and caramel cookie bar. Next time, will definitely try the ice cream and pizza! Such a cute spot.

Enjoyed the chocolate chip banana bread - Edit
Visited several times over the years. Went to day and found it hit and miss. My wife enjoyed the barbecue burger (I was a little underwhelmed). I did enjoy the chocolate chip banana bread, but the salted caramel cookie bar had an off-gooey texture with too much of a salty taste for me.

Such good pastries!! - Edit
I got a sticky bun and a mocha almond fudge brownie. The brownie was so tasty and had a great texture. The sticky bun was great too! They also had a lot of pies, cakes, cupcakes, and donuts that looked delicious too. I’m definitely coming back here!

SO CUTE - Edit
What a cute and fun little spot! the music is great, the vibes are awesome! Too difficult to choose just a couple pastries, we wanted to eat them all. We got the breakfast bagel and sandwhich on the biscuit. Both were top notch, so flavorful, fresh and tasty. We also got some cookies to bring home for later which were so good

So good, looking forward to going back - Edit
Everything we had was delicious, especially the apple pie and giant animal cookie. I had pizza and my friend had the breakfast sandwich; I loved the crust and she called out the biscuit. Highly recommended.

Favorite vegan bakery in PDX - Edit
I’ve been going here for years and I love it so much. The fact that everything is vegan AND gluten free is amazing. I’ve tried plenty of their pastries, brunch food, etc. Last year I even bought a pumpkin pie from them for Thanksgiving and it was a hit!

Mmmm I must agree! Your review is very eloquent! This place is quite fine dining to the upmost degree that none other establishment could forge. The savory pastries are ones worth dying for! The apple pie in particular is for the most delicate of taste buds that no PEASANTS should be able to experience! As the most prestige of persons, I must say that this place is a must eulogize. Bravo Petunia's Pies and Pastries! Bravo!

Gluten-Free Heaven 💚 - Edit
Petunia’s is a place you walk in and have to confirm with staff that everything is not too good to be true… this place is heaven for anyone with gluten restrictions! The presentation of the deserts is incredible and I sincerely wanted to order one of each item. Almost had to get a choco taco for breakfast!
Read moreAs previous reviews have pointed out- yes, everything here is gluten free. Thankfully! Yes, you can tell the food is gluten free. But they do a damn good job of disguising it, and regardless it is delicious! I will be back soon!

Sweet treats are worth a try - Edit
The coconut passion berry baby cake was a tiny bit dry (but could be because I saved it to eat later) and the salted caramel cookie bar was amazing. The cold brew with oat milk was so good.

PB cupcake - Edit
We stopped by around 2pm and had a peanut butter chocolate cupcake. The cupcake itself was a bit dry but I will give them a pass on that since it was afternoon and the dryness might have been just from the cupcake sitting out since morning. The peanut butter icing was excellent. Nice flavour, not too sweet and not weirdly greasy like some icing. Based on the icing alone I would definitely try more of their baked goods. Their large cakes looked amazing.

The breakfast sandwich was tasty. I almost didn't go here because of some of the negative gluten free bread reviews but the taste was on point. Also had a sugar cookie which was perfect.

I wish vegan places didn’t suck this much. - Edit
Got breakfast sandwich, previous review says it all. I didn’t read the reviews before coming here unfortunately. Dry, crumbly, overpriced. Just egg patty, with thin sausage patty and slice of cheese. I didn’t even finish it. Tried some dessert with pecans (idk the name but tasted like apple fritter?) and that one was definitely underwhelming as well. The cupcakes looked amazing, but didn’t try. The prices are on a higher side and taste doesn’t justify those prices. It sometimes feels like vegan places take advantage of vegans, I wish we could advertise these places instead of regretting of visiting them!

Okay- miss on the savoury food - Edit
I’m not gluten free- came here for breakfast. My prediction about gluten free biscuits was correct with my expectations (low) dry and crumbly. Ordered the vegan breakfast sandwich. Desperately needed a sauce, as was so dry and needed more flavour and fat. You can order it with gravy for and extra $3 which is a bit “rich” ;)

Coffee was good but didn’t like the sweetened soy milk.

Dessert, uncompromised. - Edit
Petunia's has successfully elevated vegan dessert into the stratosphere--you can compare it to any non-vegan dessert anywhere, and they hold their own! It's a little pricey but worth it: cakes are lush, moist and flavorsome, with generous portions to boot. It makes for an effervescent, teetotaling nightcap!
