Great 👍 - Edit
The food taste well. Employees are friendly and helpful. We had filled dumplings as a starter and they were amazing! Not included on the normal menu. I had the Japanese pumpkin sandwich with tempeh. I really liked it! And strawberry cheesecake was the best vegan cheesecake in my life! The portions are smaller! Definitely enough for me but my boyfriend was starving.

A gem - Edit
I just visited Peacefood after a long gap. When I lived in nyc I used to go regularly for lunch. The charm of this establishment and delicious food hasn’t changed.

Incredible Pastries - Edit
Love stopping by Peacefood Cafe for a wide variety of great vegan desserts. The raspberry crumb bar is incredible, and their carrot cake is the best I’ve had since going vegan. So many other options like vegan cheesecake slices, strawberry shortcake, cookie sandwiches, and more. The savory menu is also great for lunch or dinner, but in my opinion the desserts are really the star of the show!

Honestly, I keep coming back here mainly for desserts. Always fresh and delicious. I’ve tried a few of their food items, nothing was disappointing but food comes a little slow.

+1 on the desserts. Scones and coconut macarons are unbelievably good. Kitchen is slow though, so not a quick lunch spot, but if you have time, definitely worth a visit.

Always amazing… - Edit
This is an Upper West Side staple if you’re vegan. I’m never disappointed whenever I visit. Today, I just dipped in for a snack. I had the tiramisu which was silky, creamy and of course delicious. Always money well spent.

Easy to find and nice menu - Edit
They were super friendly and getting my takeout prepared was quick. It’s for my dinner tonight so haven’t tasted yet but wanted to get something while I was in the city to bring back to my hotel in Newark. Hotel food where I’m staying is a bit vegan-hostile

Tasty but occasionally frustrating - Edit
I’ve been a Peacefood uptown devotee and customer since it opened oh so many years ago, and watched it go through many changes in food and staff offerings, quality, and pricing. The latest incarnation of same has it fielding tasty dishes, reasonably sized and priced, along with mostly functional service staff.
Read moreThat said, on any given night, the quality of the food prep and service can vary significantly depending on who’s working; dish elements that are supposed to be soft can arrive hard and vice versa; staff can be attentive and on the ball, or operating in a general fog of disorganized chaos and laughter.
Overall I recommend Peacefood though as I mention above your dining mileage can vary for a variety of reasons. Don’t hesitate to send food back or press staff for service; it’s your time and money…
Pros: Wholesome “country kitchen” style prep, Interesting selection of dishes , Decent prices
Cons: Inconsistent food prep, Inconsistent service quality

Good food and amazing hot chocolate - Edit
It was freezing cold and I was only looking for a place to warm up. Lucky me that I found Peacefood! I had the chili which was solid, but not as spicy as I hoped for. However, the Mint Hot Chocolate was divine - still dream of it!

Awesome find - Edit
I was lucky to find this place while looking another one. Ordered their waffle tenders dish and it was delicious. The waffle was barely sweet and very dense, which is right up my alley. I couldn’t tell if the tenders were tofu or a Gardein-type alternative, but they were big, perfectly seasoned, crispy, and huge. Not only were they big, but they threw in six pieces! My only complaint is it’s a bit expensive but considering its location, it’s not surprising

Big fan - Edit
I've liked Peacefood for about ten years. Before I even went vegan, this was my favourite place when I was at NYU. After all these years, the Japanese Pumpkin Sandwich is still super delicious 🤤 The bakery is great and they have a lot of choices. I love them but I have consistently thought the service could be better unfortunately, so I'm giving a 4.

Beautiful Space Worth Dining In! - Edit
My partner and I drove here for lunch. We shared the Waffle & Tenders ("Chicken" Tenders), my pumpkin quiche, and the red bean chili corn bread. All three items were delicious, though I wish there was more "cheese" and less pumpkin in the quiche! Still, I was satisfied. When I entered the eatery to pick up my food, I was impressed by the purple walls and ecletic art. It's a beautiful, homey space to be in. If you're in New York City, this experience is worth the subway ride!

Great food, not as good service - Edit
The food was great (chicken and waffles, chocolate ganache cake), but we waited more than half an hour after we were clearly done eating for a waiter to finally give us a check
