An Edmonton Institution - Edit
We love Padmanadi. Always have. But, if you're looking for nutritious, healthy food choices, this is not the place for you. There are a few non-processed food items on the menu, but, by and far, there are mostly processed, high sugar, high fat options. For a casual indulgence (buffet night!), this is great.
Read moreThat being said, we have been going here for years, and the owners and staff are amazing. The brunch menu is superb and the monthly buffet is not to be missed.
This is the place to go for comfort foods and treats.
Pros: Tasty, tasty comfort food (dessert!!!), Friendly people
Cons: Not too healthy, Parking is difficult

Best vegan restaurant - Edit
All vegan foods with an extensive and creative menu. Dishes are not like the usual kind that you see in most vegan restaurants. The portions are big and prices are fair. Highly recommend and we'll be coming back again!

Never fails, the OG vegan restaurant - Edit
I always go to Padmanadi when I want comfort food. Anything I’ve tried here is gold. I’ve been coming here way before I’ve become a vegan and have introduced lots of my omnivore family/friends this place and they always love it. Padmanadi was one of the biggest reasons I became vegan because they made me realized plant based food can be delicious and even better than all the non-vegan food I used to eat. I will always recommend and go to Padmanadi!

Old favourite for a vegan brunch. Great for dinner too! - Edit
Fabulous place to go for breakfast on the weekend. It isn’t too busy and you can usually find parking on the streets in front of the restaurant. It is also a wonderful way to introduce your non-vegan friends to a vegan meal as there are lots of options for breakfast and even more options for lunch and dinner. And if your order too much, no problem as who doesn’t like leftovers!

Really good, but I didn’t love it - Edit
I’ve had food delivered to my hotel a couple times. It included the platter, coconut eggplant, coconut rice, and cheesecake. The cheesecake was to die for. The coconut rice was fragrant and great accompaniment to the eggplant for the same price as white rice. The eggplant dish was amazing. All veggies were cooked perfectly, even after it arrived at my hotel. I didn’t love the platter of veg meats. Many were way over fried or tasteless. The sauce it came with was nice, but I think I’ll stick to their incredible vegetable forward dishes instead of fake-meat.

Awesome first experience. Had brunch this time, but will be back for dinner! - Edit
Recommended by a friend while visiting Edmonton. Did not disappoint! Good service, nice aesthetic, and most importantly, a massive amount of different tasty sounding vegan dishes, inspired by Chinese and Indonesian cuisine. Had the Benny this time, probably going to come back for the spicy shrimp tomorrow.

Favorite restaurant in Edmonton - Edit
Every dish at Pad's is amazing!! I have eaten here too many times to count since moving to Edmonton and have tried nearly every dish on the menu and have never been disappointed. The buffet nights are really busy but give a good opportunity to try a variety of things. The brunch is delicious. My favorite dish is the spicy coconut eggplant but many others come in a very close second. If in Edmonton and vegan you need to eat here.

Celiac vegan choices limited...but good food. - Edit
As a celiac vegan, choices are limited due to the fact they cook in oil with breaded selections. We were limited to two items of what looked to be a very large and tasty menu. It was disappointing. The food we had was excellent, though. However, with such a limited menu, it’s not the right restaurant for us. We were there on a Friday and it was busy...reservations are a good idea.

The best (and oldest) vegan restaurant in Edmonton - Edit
If you come to Edmonton and only have time to eat at one restaurant make it Padmanadi. They are the whole package and the real deal. Family owned and operated, (You might get a hug from Kasim or get to play with adorable grandbaby Jaden) this was the first vegan restaurant in Edmonton. Padmanadi has a devoted following of locals for good reason. They are also the go to for celebrities (not just vegan) visiting Edmonton. Do not miss this!
