Ha'sabih shel Oved serves sabih, which is an Iraqi dish made out of fried eggplant, salad, hummus, tahini, some spicy sauces, parsley and eggs in a hot pita bread. The owner will make your serving on the spot, asking for your preferences. For a vegan option, ask to omit the eggs. Open Mon-Fri 9:00am-12:00am, Sat 8:00pm-12:00am, Sun 9:00am-12:00am.

Famous, and pretty good

Many people say this is the best sabich in the Tel Aviv area. I don't know about that, but it's definitely always, always crowded. The sabich is tasty, but wow it is so oily. Eggplant is known to absorb lots of oil, but I can't help but think if they changed out the oil more often it might produce a better product. As they say above, just be sure to remember to say no egg to keep it vegan.

Great place

Love the food, it's a really tasty and filling dish. The only downside is that the eggplant is pretty oily. But still, really tasty! Great vegan option (don't forget to tell them to not put an egg in it), not cheap but not too pricey - 22 ILS for a dish

Pros: Tasty

Cons: Not cheap
