Surgical Precision - Edit
'Chain restaurant' can be such a dirty phrase, conjuring up images of lacklustre, uninspiring fayre that barely qualifies as food. However, to tar all places with the same brush would be foolhardy, as there are a scant few that do manage to break the mould and offer up fast, fresh offerings of undoubted quality – of which I would definitely rank this brand among that select group. So, in dire need of a reliable, hearty fix, I turned my gaze to this branch. What I received reaffirmed my beliefs and also had me questioning why I don’t make orders from here a more regular occurrence.
Read moreFrom the first fevered bite to the last suitably satisfied mouthful, there was no cause for concern with anything that I had – everything was genuinely wonderful. However, in spite of this all-around strong display, there were three dishes that emerged with even more plaudits than the rest.
Firstly, the balila. All too often a very bland affair with varying degrees of success in the cooking of the chickpeas, this version was packed with flavour and almost melt-in-your-mouth beans – easily the most enjoyable incarnation I have had.
Next, the chilli hummus. Though not particularly special in terms of texture – it was as smooth and creamy as it needed to be – it just had a certain je ne sais quoi that caught my attention and made it thoroughly delicious.
Finally, the crispy pita falafel. Of all items, this was my most adored. The simple tweak of crusting the bread really elevated this well beyond a normal sandwich and gave it an almost burger-esq feel. The only issues I had with it were that a) I wished it were a touch bigger and b) that I only ordered one!
Once again, the remarkable consistency and standard on show from this restaurant underlined why this company has been able to establish itself and thrive in such a competitive market. Of course, I want to champion the little guy where I can, and there are undoubtedly smaller outfits that produce equally impressive and perhaps more authentic creations, but in a pinch, you could do much worse than here.

Brilliant middle Eastern food - Edit
Tried a dish called balila, which is cooked chickpeas in olive oil with cumin, which was delicious and would definitely recommend came with pitta. The falafel was really tasty, too. I wasn't a massive fan of the vine leaves. They were a bit too acidic for me.

Lots of options - Edit
Lots of vegan options but they aren’t clearly marked on the menu, so make sure you read it properly. We made the mistake of leaving the sauce on one of the wraps.

Inexpensive Lebanese street food - Edit
Inexpensive Lebanese street food.
Read moreI ate there three times recently. The food is good, not excellent, but inexpensive.
Large menu and many vegan options. They ask you to scan a qr code in order to see the menu, but one can insist to get a menu from them (on a tablet).
Modern and hip place, all kinds of guests.
From what I tried I liked “Balila” most.
Falafel not bad, too. Lentil soup could be better, it’s a bit bland.
At Operation Falafel one can go home satisfied for little money.

Delicious Falafel and Hummus - Edit
We went there for dinner and had the "Special Veggie" (Falafel, eggplant, hummus, pickles, mint leaves, tahini sauce, fresh tomatoes and lemon zest, served in baked bread) and Hummus as a side order. It was so delicious and the service was fast and very friendly.

It's okay for a pit stop - Edit
I found this restaurant right on JBR. It was rammed. I ordered a spicey falafel wrap there's around 3 to choose from basically they are all falafel based choices, with different spices. So not any variation. Food came quickly tasted fine, nothing to write home about. I was put off a little by the massive rotating kebab skewer on full display whilst yr eating. Guess it wouldn't bother a non vegan too much. Il come back if I was stuck for food. It's okay for a quick pit stop.
