No Clowning About - Edit
Snugly occupying a small slice of a rather chic, contemporary space within the heart of the JVC, this is, by evidence of the waitlisting to be seated, a very popular haunt. Luckily, I managed to snaffle a table in good time without a reservation, though I did have a rather looming guest with me in the form of an olia. While undeniably aesthetically pleasing, I can’t help but feel that the prime real estate it occupies would be better utilised for, say, another table, or two. As it would transpire, this flora foible and the dining areas compact nature were about as much of a negative as I could levy at this outstanding place, and neither of which could actually be cast of complaints.

Unquestionably, the stars of the show are the Panuozzos. While they might sound like the moniker of a legendary circus performer, they are something far greater: folded pizza dough sandwiches. Both plant-based variations fillings were exemplary, and harmonised beautifully together within, and also with, the outrageously impressive crust that enrobed them. Of the two, the Filthy Falafel marginally curried my favour more than Alfalfa Romeo, but this is in no way a slight the latter.
Aside from these beautiful butties, there was also a delectable deli counter that contained an assortment of fine looking salads that I could not ignore. Painstakingly eyeing up my options, I eventually landed on getting the Bassmah’s Bulger. Bright, acidic and fresh, it was the perfect foil to the main dishes, and rounded things off nicely.
Since finishing the last bite, I have been fanaticising about returning for more of exactly the same, so it’s safe to say it won’t be long before I do so.
