Always enjoyable!

I went here in three times so far, twice in 2018 & once in 2019 and both times I loved it! We ate a lot of vegan fast food and junk food on our Seoul trips so stopping by 오세계향 was always very nice. It was slightly tricky to find down the alleyway the first time but the other time we went we knew exactly how to get there. You take your shoes off at the entrance and then you will receive a menu from one of the ladies who work there. They were very nice and the service was pretty good! We really enjoyed the bibimbap and jajangmyeon, chicken cutlet and all the side dishes. I will be back on my next trip!

Update: Went in 2024 and it was delicious! loved the katsu dish. I wish i got the bibimbap! next time :)

Great prices

This place is obviously doing something right. The restaurant was full and we got a seat quickly. The prices of the food were great. It just wasn’t to our taste and flavour.

Our Favorite Vegan Korean Restaurant in Seoul

This meal was one of the highlights of our trip to Seoul! The tteok-bokki, sweet & spicy chicken, and the kimchi dumplings were excellent. Highly recommend!

Lot of options for typical Korean food

I like this place as they offer so many veganized Korean dishes. I went there 3 times and had jjajangmyeong, fried mandus, tteokbokkis sweet and sour soy protein and the spicy noodle soup. Everything tasted good and the service is fast.

They also sell vegan instant ramen and other vegan food.

Tteokbokki and vegan chicken

During our trip to Korea, I ordered tteokbokki and fried chicken in many restaurants. And for me, this restaurant's variation of these dishes was the best. The tteokbokki was pleasantly spicy and I liked the sauce and texture of the chicken.

Dont get the good reviews

Went there with my sister. i am vegan and have been to several restaurants in Seoul during our one week trip . First time we didnt finish the meal. Spicy crispy chicken was clld and mjxed in a lukewarm sauce , at least it was warmer than the reception we got. Noodles was spaghetti and open toilet door - staring at the toilet as you walk in and it being open while you eat with the scents is not a vibe. We left after trying a few bites as it wasmt worth the calories and walked to vegan insa for a proper lunch which was great.

I read some people love it. Just dont get it.

Pros: Fact that its an all vegan restaurant

Cons: Toilet door open and smells, Unfriendly reception, Food cold and not tasty

Meal was great

This is a nice floor seating place. Vegan copies of Korean dishes. We are just going into summer so they are already serving summer cold noodle soups. The one we had was excellent.

Not a fan of the supreme master cult that pushes propaganda as you eat, so usually avoid this place.

Pros: Great selection, "Fake" meats are really good, Affordable

Amazing food, big Varaity

We went as a group of six and ordered Bimbimbap,Fried Chicken, Dumplings, Teokbokki, Soup, and more. Such a big Varaity of food, all vegan and cheap. Everyone ended up paying 25.000₩ (total was 150.000₩).

Pros: All vegan

Delicious Korean food

I love to try vegan versions of local food and this place didn’t disappoint on that front! Order screens at the table, quick service, tasty banchan.

Like others have mentioned, the tv choice is pretty intense but as a language lover, I did enjoy the multiple subtitles during our visit.

Pros: Quick service, Tasty food, Good prices

Cons: Curious tv

Absolutely love this — went for 3 times

I can’t describe how much we love this place and their food! Amazing flavours and an opportunity to experience traditional Korean dishes.

Traditional Korean Food

Meatless dishes are soy and pea based. Traditional dishes that maintain the taste and texture of the non vegan dishes. Easy to order via a screen. Nice place. Highly recommended.

Edited from 2022 (weird vibes)

Edit 2024: In my original review I praised this place a lot, but coming back 2 years later, something feels off.

First of all the quality of the food has declined. It's still pretty good, but it used to be better.

The've gotten rid of the floor tables; now they have regular tables and you order via tablet, which is convinient.

However, the religious and far right messaging shown on the TVs was very uncomfortble at the very least. Back in 2022 there were already some spiritual messaging, not sure exactly what religion they promote, but this time it felt cultish. Also, a lot of pro Trump propaganda. We ate our food quickly and left, because we were so uncomfortable.
I don't think I will come back next time I'm in Seoul.

Original 2022: Amazing traditional korean food, easy to find and quite busy. We tried a few dishes and they were all delicious, very tasty and nice textures.

Maybe a bit more expensive than other places in Seoul, but the portions are very generous, even when ordering for the small portion.

I recommend trying the fried chicken no matter what!

Keep in mind, you need to take your shoes off and you’ll sit on the floor, but it’s comfortable and there’s room to straighten your legs if you want

Really nice food

Nice restaurant with a great range of options from rice dishes to noodle dishes to soups. We ate the kimchi dumplings, sweet and sour soy meat chicken, and the bulgogi rice. Would recommend all of these. Friendly service as well which is always great!

Really decent tofu stew.

Warming and hearty stew. I accidentally ordered the option with no garlic, onion, etc, but I suspect the version with these would taste even better.

Pros: Tofu stew, Banchan (반찬) (Side dishes)

I'v been here so many times

.. since 2018 or so, now they dont have sit-on-the-floor tables anymore, more convenient without taking out your shoes.
Food was excellent and cheap. Fast service. They do sell package veg food and I attended once in their charity doing lunch boxes for homeless elderly ^^

Disappointing

The first time we went, they were closed for some reason. When we went back, they were open, but the sign on the door said closed.

The sizzling tofu in the little pot was delicious, but the soy chicken was overcooked and had no flavour and some of the side dishes were very odd in flavour and texture.

Service was really rushed, no one said hello and there was an unfriendly atmosphere. I wouldn't rush back, especially when there is so much vegan food in the same area.

Delicious Korean vegan food!

What a neat place! The food was delicious and I loved the convenience of ordering from a tablet at your table. I loved everything they offered, and the portions were quite generous! The ambiance is ... interesting ... (I'm sure other reviews touch more on that) but everyone was friendly and extremely helpful. Will definitely come back for some delicious vegan Korean food whenever I'm back in Seoul!

Soft tofu

Wholesome home style soft tofu in hot stone pot and with an assortment of side dishes. Many things to choose from on the all vegan menu, mainly home cooked comfort food.

Pros: Home style comfort food, Home style casual atmosphere , Mushroom and kimchi side dishes

Managed to find this place tucked away, not too far from Cheonggyecheon Stream (about 10-15 minute walk). Having been to numerous Loving Huts around the world, I'm kind of used to the content on the TV, however I can appreciate that it's not comfortable viewing for everyone. The issue here is a lack of atmosphere, like eating in a monastery, regardless of how many people are in.

Most importantly, the food is really good and the service very quick, wheeled out by a quiet lady with a trolley, ordered via tablet, with everything clearly marked in English and Korean.

Would I recommend this place? If you're in the area, absolutely. But, the recommendation comes with a warning that the atmosphere and theme might weird some out.

Best food in Seoul

Had the "fried egg", some spicy "chicken" with rice and a soup (along the side dishes). Had a blast, tasty and delicious food. Price was affordable

Used to be my favorite...

I have no idea what they changed, like 5 years ago i would love going there for the food, ignoring the weird atmosphere. Went again in 2024 and got the Tonkatsu, wasn't good. Once had amazing Tonkatsu at loving hut so I thought maybe I dont like the version from here or they had a bad day (was fried pretty badly). But since I had good memories of the place I went again a few days later and ordered Tofu Stew. It looked as awful as it tasted. Might go down as one of the worst meals ive ever had. The way to get me to convert to their cult would be to tell me that hell is eating that tofu stew every day.
