Neat Location, Small Meals

We heard this was a must go to on our trip to Portland. The wait was about 25 minutes for 2 to be seated. The food was pretty good, but we both left hungry. That isn’t cool when we spent $30 for breakfast! My plate came with “greens” which was literally 4 leafs of spinach. The waffles were really good, though!

Pros: Lots of Vegan Options, Cool decor

Cons: Expensive, Small servings

Superb for vegan breakfast

Really enjoyed what we had here! I had the Blue Plate, and being able to enjoy vegan biscuits with gravy is a real treat. I love that basically everything here can be prepared vegan. They do have eggs and cheese to real in a vegetarian crowd. The menu is very meticulously labeled, so there's no guessing. Only tried breakfast here so far, but I'll be back for sure.

Pros: Nearly everything can be made vegan, Eggs and cheese available for vegetarians, Menu very clearly labeled by allergens

Cons: Not 100% vegan

Great brunch!

It’s hard to get a good vegan breakfast when eating out but I really wanted to go out for breakfast on my birthday. This place was fantastic. This explains why there were a lot of people waiting to get seated. But, the wait wasn’t as long as we thought it would be and they had a great system where you could look online to see what place you were in line and they texted when the table was ready.

My new happy place!!!

The food at off the griddle is AMAZING! It was very busy and we had to wait half an hour but it was totally worth it! We came in for vegan French toast but we enjoyed the waffles, hash browns and the tofu scramble. They should add French toast though...
We are definitely coming back to try the dinner menu soon!

Pros: All vegan , Nice people , Amazing service

Cons: Long line , No French toast, Limited parking during peak hours

Simply alright.

Off the Griddle serves decent plant based food. I do enjoy the waffles, but the tofu scramble often seems....runny and wet. Personally, that's not what I look for in my tofu scrambles. If you choose to dine here, try to go during non-peak hours because they do not have a waiting space and have you wait outside. If it's raining out, there is nowhere to stand to stay dry. I avoid Off the Griddle during the cold season unless I am going on a weekday well before the lunch rush. I also find that the staff are generally rude and pretentious. These have been my experiences at Off the Griddle, but at least the food is adequate overall.

Pros: Plant based, Decent Food, Decent value

Cons: Customer Service, No waiting area

Worth the second trip

Came here for breakfast twice in a row. Exciting vegan breakfast can be hard to find in many places, but Off the Griddle didn't disappoint. Both mornings we were thrilled about our meals, and the sweet staff remembered us and what we were drinking. I recommend the Full Mess, and the Lost Boyrito was fantastic as well

Pros: Wide variety on the menu, Great servic, Affordable prices

Off The Griddle is Off The Chain

We almost didn't make it to Off The Griddle before leaving Portland, but I'm SO GLAD we made the effort to stop for brunch before leaving town. Highly recommend the savory waffle option they have, and their coffee is also great. Cute bathroom decor, too. The staff was busy but very attentive at the right times. I've gotta go back whenever I can!

Pros: Staff, The vegan options are so good

Ok

The food was alright. I wish there were more veggie options instead of alternative meats. The server was doing busy work instead of tending to customers.

Pros: Vegan options

Cons: Slow service

Yummy yum yums

This is a food haven for vegans, but eaters of all types will rejoice in the tasty food this place offers.

I have been going here for over two years now. In the before time when this place was on Burnside and called A.N.D Café. It is always so good. The food, the coffee, the tea, the pies, and the service is always great. I’ve tried almost everything on the menu and it’s all been yummy yum yums. I find myself eating the super vegano burrito and the mushroom waffle more the anything. I usually like to explore new restaurants when I go out to eat, but I always find myself going back to this place.

Variety

The menu has many options for the Brunch lover in me. The food was good not exactly mindblowing. I have mad love for Portland being a place where I actually have choices however my only complaint is the high levels of sodium the food contains.

Pros: large menu

Cons: long wait, too much salt, too noisy for my mornings

Pleasantly Surprised

I am not a huge fan of bars or the vegan comfort food that they serve, but this place is an exception. It wasn't noisy at non-bar times. The food is good, and there are many gluten-free options. However, there are no gluten-free desserts aside from shakes. The only complaint that I have is that I ordered a salad that that was supposed to contain squash, Brussel sprouts, and apples. There were about 5 tiny pieces of squash and no Brussel sprouts. The apples were tasty.

Pros: Many gluten-free options

Cons: No gluten-free desserts

Best vegan brunch place

I so wish we had a place like this in Atlanta! Why did we have to go all the way to Portland to get vegan Chicken and Waffles? My hash with wild mushrooms and potatoes and cashew sauce was comfort-food fantastic. They seem to really know what they're doing in the kitchen--flavors, textures and portion sizes were perfect.

Pros: great vegan versions of brunch favorites, flavors

Classic veganized diner food

This review is just for brunch because the rest of the menu is only so so. I wanted waffles, really good waffles, and some hash browns and some biscuits with gravy, gluten free and vegan. This place served that up on the menu and in person. I was delighted. It was delicious. Waffles and biscuits and hash browns and it was all delicious.

The dinner menu is also amazing with burgers and Mac and cheese, but it’s not that exciting for me. They do have an amazing bar and ice cream cocktails/ boozy milkshakes!

Really though, come for the waffles and biscuits and gravy. They have some breakfast burritos too, but... chicken and waffles are so much better! Buckwheat makes it so delicious!

Pros: Vegan and gluten free waffles

Cons: Not all options can be gluten free

I have a hunch you’ll enjoy this brunch!

Seriously one of the best vegan brunch’s I have ever experienced. I got the chicken and waffles (with extra added chocolate chips) The waffles are gluten free and have such an amazing fluffy texture. Also the maple syrup was top notch! My husband had the ‘full mess’ which was genuinely tasty! All of the elements together with a scratch biscuit were to die. Don’t miss this place!

Pros: Lots of options , Nice staff, Vegan Hollandaise

Cons: Some times there’s a wait -, But they have coffee for people waiting

Yummmmmmy!

Really great house-made vegan 'meets'. The soy-based deep fried chik'n was so good! So lovely that you can get completely vegan food, but your egg-eating vegetarian friends can also enjoy brunch too!

Can't wait to go back for to try some dinner foods!

Pros: Super nice staff, good drip coffee, indoor & outdoor seating

Cons: spendy

YASSSSSSS

Enjoyed a plate of the nacho style fries with my partner. Delicious! Loved the texture of the cheez. Very creamy and scrumptious. Next up was the Ruben. Oh my goodness was it delicious 🤤. I would absolutely recommend and return for it. Wound up passing it around the table for everyone to share cause it was so good. Friendly atmosphere, cheery staff. Wanting to come back for a “geeks who drink” night!

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Creative menu items

Cons: Little pricey, but well worth it ❤️

As frequent visitors of A&D and now OTG, we were very impressed by the jackfruit crab Benedict served on their famous biscuit.

Amazing food at a cost.

I had the Mac&cheese & a pb shake and that set me back nearly 20$. It will not be a place I can afford to frequent however, oh em gee was it delicious, I had to ask the server if she was sure it was vegan
Definitely the best m&c out of a handful of places so far and I couldn't tell the difference between this shake & the real thing.

Amazing Brunch!

Such a delicious vegan brunch with many fun options! We had hash browns, a flavorful vegan burrito, a plate with a waffle, tofu scramble, tempeh bacon and spinach. Everything was so good! The only non vegan item on their menu is eggs.

Ahhhhh...

We used to go to A&D, and were eager to check the new concept and location. It’s awesome! We had the Reuben, the French dip, and the mac and cheese. All delicious. Looks like a good bar too.

Pros: Comfort food done very well, Cheery atmosphere , Great staff

Cons: Far out there, but totally worth.

Fantastic French Dip

We’ve been here a couple of times for brunch which has been really delicious. But just stopped in for an early dinner and had the French dip which was unfreakinbelievable! I thought this sandwich was a thing of the past for this former meat eater but I was so very wrong. Can’t wait to come back for more
