Simple and great

I had lunch here. The place is cozy with a nice terrace where you can enjoy the day. The staff is very friendly and the menu of the day was cheap and tasty. For a fixed price, you get food, a drink and desert. This is the kind of place I'd love to have in my area. Recommended.

Pros: Taste, Price, Friendliness

Hidden from hustle and bustle

The daily menu costs 8,5€ now which is still less than anything in Cafe Majestic 🤣 delicious vegan food. I’ve had the daily Krishna set consisting of lentils soup, rice with veggies, mango cream and tea. They have a nice terrace, hidden from the hustle and bustle of Porto. I’ve been there multiple times: both for lunch and dinner menu. Francesinha is really tasty and fresh, the sauce is not some cheap ketchup as I’ve had in another place. Really welcoming place with good food in good price

Increible vegano en Oporto

Restaurante 100% vegano. Comida riquísima con cantidades abundantes. Los camareros super atentos y buen precio.
También hay una parte de tienda vegana y eco con varios productos.
100% recomendado!

Pros: Comida, Atención recibida, Lugar tranquilo

Good Old-Fashioned Hearty Meals

After another round of Porto city-sightseeing, naturally we were hungry and thirsty and O Oriente no Porto was our restaurant du-jour for some vegan grub. It wasn't the easiest place to find, with our respective GPS signals going haywire as we hiked above the local cell towers; but, alas, we found this "hole-in-the-wall" on a narrow street. The interior (as it is with a number of restaurants we've been to here in Portugal) is nondescript from the outside with a lot more "expansive" interior. They've got a lovely outdoor eating area, as well, and since it was such a beautiful day, we ate alfresco. The owner/chef (??) informed us that they only serve a daily prix-fixe meal, which was fine by us since we were hungry and just went with the flow. There's no alcohol served, so we opted for Cokes. Interestingly, the soup AND dessert arrived first, and since it was a warm afternoon, the creamy frosting on the dessert started to melt before the main arrived. (I started eating mine right away. Lol!) The soup was delicious; dense carrot-like cake dessert was yummy, too. Shortly after the first course came the main, which consisted of an empanada, a side of rice and a side of carrots/cauliflower/peas in a tomato-based sauce. (The owner/chef spoke very little English, so I'm guessing as to ingredients; we just ate it all up because it was all very satisfying. Price for the prix-fixe was excellent, too!) Both the owner/chef and gent manning the upstairs checkout were friendly. If you find yourself in close proximity to O Oriente no Porto, and need some food without breaking-the-bank, check them out...!

Pros: Interior/Outdoor Decor/Seating, Food (large portions), Service

Cons: Hard to find

Hidden Gem

Nestled in a charming old neighborhood atop a steep hillside, O Oriente no Porto offers a delightful dining experience. With a fixed daily menu, the food is simply scrumptious. It felt like I was enjoying a cozy lunch with a dear friend. We dined on the small patio with about 5 tables, surrounded by a cozy and pleasant atmosphere. The wait staff was friendly and attentive, making our meal truly memorable. I highly recommend giving them a try!

Pros: Good food, Fixed menu daily

Affordable Indian restaurant

I had the lunch deal for 8,50€. A potato soup, some lentil mash potato with vegan cheese and a fried something with beetroot and tea as a drink. The dessert was a mango pudding. It was nothing special but affordable and I'm full.

Welcoming place

The manager and the cook were both really welcoming, the food is simple but good, and the meal changes every day. The whole menu is 8,50€ which is ridiculously cheap.

Simple, tasty, good value

Set menu for €8.50 includes main course, desert & an interesting fruit tea. Can go back for more too. The food is simple as well as tasty. The desert was free of refined sugar. Another win in the war on burgers!

Pros: Friendly, Charitable, Worth a detour

Perfect Everything

This is the kind of place that makes you want to become a regular costumer.

The food is delicious, super affordable prices, incredible location, and the nicest staff.

They work with a single daily menu option that includes soup, main, dessert, and tea (8,50€). The flavours are home-y, freshly cooked, and truly flavourful.

The space itself is very cozy and has a beautiful sunny balcony.

If there's a vegan business worth supporting in Porto, this is it. I'm hoping to be able to go back every time I visit the city.

Pros: Delicious Food, Fantastic Location, Friendly Staff

Health is wealth

Sometimes, we need to appreciate that what we eat is essential fuel for our bodies. At €8.50, the set meal provided excellent value, especially with the offer of seconds. While it might not have been the most extraordinary culinary experience, it was brimming with nutrients, making it perfect for those on the move.

The combination of soup, a mixed plate , and dessert was a refreshing break after a hectic morning. Moreover, knowing that the restaurant supports a homeless project adds another layer of significance to the dining experience. It’s more than just a meal; it’s a contribution to a worthy cause.

For anyone seeking a healthy and value-packed option while on the go, this place is definitely worth a visit.

Pros: People , Healthy, 100%

Set lunch menu

Large relaxed cafe with shop upstairs. Serves a set lunch menu; today it was soup, poppadom, tea, main and dessert for €8.

hare krishna

They had a all vegan daily menue with rice, lentils, soup, a tarte, something fried (super tasty!), cake, jelly and tea for just 8€
I could have used some more salt and spices.

Don't expect a restaurant but a hare Krishna place that also offers a meal on a nice terrace with a lemon tree and a cat watching from next door

They also sell some eco friendly toiletries and vegan food upstairs
The view from the toilet upstairs is amazing :)

Pros: really low price, good 'healthy' food, lemon tree on terrace

Vegan restaurant/shop/yoga

This isn’t only a restaurant but also a shop and a place where they do yoga.

Menu is completely vegan but it’s a set menu in a buffet style.
The upside is that you pay a fix price and you can eat as much as you want.

At the table they say that the set menu is 8 eur but I paid 10 eur in the end, despite telling the man that it was 8 eur. I found that a bit dishonest.

You can sit inside and outside as well in the garden.

Pros: Fully vegan, Reasonably priced

Cons: Set menu so you can’t really choose the dish, A bit dishonest about the price, Weird atmosphere

Food is okay, nothing special

There only is a menu of the day. You cannot choose anything. The atmosphere is simple and a bit awkward (however the view is nice). There was no explanation about the concept of the restaurant and the menu of the day. The first time someone came to our table was already with the food. The taste was a bit blend. But the good side is the price: €8 for a menu with soup, main, dessert and tea.

Pros: Cheap, Fully vegan

Cons: Awkward atmosphere , Food not very interesting

Nice true vegan place

Perfect classical original vegan food. Mainly Indian style and this is how it should be. Unfortunately many restaurants these days forgot from where veganism came.

Pros: Not expensive , Great food
